The *September Lip Love Bag has arrived and this month it’s inspired by new beginnings boasting a mix of some of So Susan’s new collection as well as a product from the ever so cute Trifle Cosmetics, there’s a lovely selection with a good balance of make up and best of all there’s some really interesting things to try. As always the curation really shows off what So Susan do best and there innovation and creativity impresses me month on month, it’s amazing how many new launches they bring out but I’m particularly happy to see one of their new lip products on board. The exclusive designed bag features a quote from Paulo Coelho with a very pretty backdrop which reminds me a little of Amsterdam, the scenery of course!
The So Susan collection ranges from make-up to nail varnish combining their lovely portfolio of colours with science. Their philosophy is to create colours which last, are cruelty free and also much kinder to your skin. As well as the philosophy behind the brand, I love the feminine and pretty designed packaging which always stands out for me. I’ve tried quite a few products from their collection and already have a few firm favourites.
Each month, the Lip Love bag will include 3 full sized items and one bonus product from either Jelly Pong Pong or So Susan alongside an treat in the form of jewellery or a hair accessory.
1. So Susan LipoPout in “Paris” – Full Size. RRP £12.95
If you love cute packaging you’re in for a real treat as this lipstick is just adorable! It has a signature look with a chic style something I really love.
The shade Paris is a peachy nude shade something that my pale skin will not pull off however it has great pigmentation and sweeps on smoothly whilst also keeping your lips hydrated. I really love the formula and hope to see more shade variations.
The cardboard material isn’t as long lasting as a normal plastic lipstick but the pretty design makes it worth the sacrifice! I am so in love, not only does this lipstick look amazing the formula is just as loveable.
2. Trifle Cosmetics Royal Icing – Full Size RRP £13.95
Probably the most interesting product within the bag is the Trifle Cosmetics Royal icing, a loose powder that gives you an incandescent, healthy, luminous glow no matter how much you brush on. The sophisticated, silky powder formula will not cake or crease as it is infused with Jojoba & Apricot oils to keep skin moist & hydrated. You can simply dust on as a finishing touch on top of your makeup or to highlight your best features.
The powder is really delicate and the shade is so versatile that anyone could pull this off. This helps to perfect the skin with a very natural radiant look without looking too heavy or sparkly providing you only use a little, making it great for both day and evening looks.
3. Jelly Pong Pong Caribbean Sun in “Bahamas” – Full Size RRP £15.95
The Jelly Pong Pong Caribbean Sun is fragrance-free blush & bronzer duo gives you a radiant, airbrushed glow with its infusion of healthy Argan & moisturizing Mango Butter. The unique formulation using coated pigments helps skin mimic a whisper-light, sunkissed Caribbean-inspired finish.
Bahamas is a natural-looking bronzer perfect for adding a healthy glow, along with a little cheekbone definition, while the pink blush adds a natural flush of colour. Together they form the perfect partnership and being in a compact size it’s a great addition to fake that sunkissed glow whilst you’re on the go!
4. So Susan Featherlash Mascara – Full Size RRP £17.95
This thickening mascara claims to delivers volume, length and long-lasting wear in one stroke. Made with an exceptionally thick wand with a conical tip, it enables you to envelope your lashes in thick, ultrablack pigments, and to coat the small shorter ones at the same time. Infused with Silk Amino Acids & Moringa Seed Extract to help keep lashes strong, luxurious and silken. Water-resistant formula.
The wand is packed with bristles and the narrower end makes it so much easier to reach for those tight corners as well as helping to separate the lashes. When applied I found that it added more volume as opposed to length with a very natural finish ,ideal for days when you want the barely there look.
5. Unmask Ring (Bonus Item) – RRP £8.95
As well as the make-up line up you can also expect to see an additional treat usually in the form of jewellery or hair accessories and this month features a pretty masquerade ring. It’s not really my kind of style but it adds something quite different to the mix.
My Verdict
So Susan have curated another great edition with lots of new and exciting discoveries on board majority of which include some of their newest creations. It’s a mixed bag this month with a great balance and one you definitely won’t want to miss. With autumn around the corner there’s some great products to fake that glow and although the lipstick shade wasn’t for me (I really hope they include more shades within their future editions) I’ll definitely continue to use the remainder. As with all of the Lip Love Bags you can expect to find all full sized products so in terms of value it’s just incredible.
The Lip Love Bag literally caters for every make-up addict regardless of whether you’re a pro or just want to experiment with different products and shades that may usually be outside of your comfort zone. One of the aspects I really love is that So Susan are always churning out new revolutionary products so you can always expect to discover something new as well as some of their classic products too.
Overall it’s really refreshing to receive just a make-up based subscription which not only is cruelty-free but kind to the skin too without compromising on the quality.
