The *November Lip Love Bag has arrived and this month it’s inspired by dreams, the one characteristic that we all share and features a rather comical quote from H.Jackson Brown, JR! As well as the make-up line up, for the first time ever So Susan have also featured a bodycare product, something I very much welcome as it shakes things up a little in terms of the variety. This month’s treats focuses on illuminating and perfecting the skin as well as accentuating those key features showcasing a collective of new discoveries from So Susan, Trifle Cosmetics and Jelly Pong Pong. In other news the Lip Love Subscription now has it’s very own website.
The So Susan collection ranges from make-up to nail varnish combining their lovely portfolio of colours with science. Their philosophy is to create colours which last, are cruelty free and also much kinder to your skin. As well as the philosophy behind the brand, I love the feminine and pretty designed packaging which always stands out for me. I’ve tried quite a few products from their collection and already have a few firm favourites.
Each month, the Lip Love bag will include 3 full sized items and one bonus product from either Jelly Pong Pong or So Susan alongside an treat in the form of jewellery or a hair accessory.
1. So Susan LipoPout in “Flamingos” – Full Size. RRP £12.95
I’ve had my eye on So Susan’s new LipoPout Collection since it launched and this month you can expect to see the shade “Flamingo”, a soft coral/pink with pretty packaging to match.
If you love cute packaging you’re in for a real treat as this lipstick is just adorable! The pigmentation is great and the formula sweeps on smoothly whilst also keeping your lips hydrated. Whilst the shade is a little bright for me it effortlessly adds a pop of colour to brighten up my pale complexion. The only thing I would say it’s not very forgiving on dry lips so you’ll need to ensure your lips are exfoliated and moisturised to get the best finish.
2. Jelly Pong Pong Undetectable Concealer – Full Size RRP £18.95
This concealer was featured inside the February Lip Love Bag and is already one of my make-up bag staples so I was happy to have another as a back up.
This intense but not occlusive texture thanks to the carefully-formulated canvas skincare base, the concealer is virtually undetectable once blended onto the skin and claims to reduce the appearances of all kinds of skin imperfections with one subtle swatch. It’s infused with the power of Olive Oil and Willow Bark Extract which are excellent antioxidants to protect against the daily environmental skin damage.
This super-hydrating, silky concealer hides under-eye circles and imperfections with excellent coverage and matches perfectly with my skin tone. The smooth, weightless formula applies effortlessly without creasing or flaking.
3. Jelly Pong Pong Liquid Gossamer- Full Size RRP £17.95
For those who read my posts regularly will know how I feel about the regular appearances of highlighters within the So Susan Lip Love Bags and whilst I appreciate they’re really popular with subscribers I’m struggling to get use out of them.
This lightweight, water-based luminiser gives the skin instant radiance whilst keeping it moisturised at the same time. Formulated with ultra-fine, light-refracting coated mica pigments in a sheer, soft cream that gives your skin an ethereal, youthful-looking glow
4. Trifle Cosmetics Buttercream – Full Size RRP £12.95
As well as the make-up line up, this month for the first time ever features a delicious, buttercream-scented body lotion from Trifle Cosmetics that promises to hydrate your skin without any stickiness.
Formulated to revitalize parched skins and restore suppleness to your skin, the scent will leave you smelling delicious just like a cupcake!
5. Butterfly Ring – RRP £8.95
As well as the make-up line up you can also expect to see an additional treat usually in the form of jewellery or hair accessories and this month features a pretty Butterfly Ring. For me personally, these extra additions seem to be a little hit and miss and more suited for teens.
My Verdict
So Susan have curated another great edition which features a selection of new and exciting discoveries from a variety of brands this month as well as a body lotion from Trifle Cosmetics that adds something a little different to the line up. There’s definitely a few highlights this month but I would have loved to have seen a lipstick in a more autumnal shade. As always the bag features five full sized products so it’s incredible value for money and great for those who want to discover more skin friendly and cruelty-free alternatives. I’m really hoping the December Lip Love bag focuses on some lovely sultry make up shades for party season – fingers crossed!
The Lip Love Bag literally caters for every make-up addict regardless of whether you’re a pro or just want to experiment with different products and shades that may usually be outside of your comfort zone. One of the aspects I really love is that So Susan are always churning out new revolutionary products so you can always expect to discover something new as well as some of their classic and popular products too.
