A new year means a brands opportunity for our beauty boxes to wow us with exciting curations and new discoveries however the *January Cohorted edition has already caused quite a stir amongst subscribers due to a repeat product and the booklet being absent from the box so not the best start to the year but that being said I’m really pleased to see the Too Faced Soul Mates again in another shade as I love the Ross and Rachel version. Errors aside and the fact that they’ve taken this feedback on board I love this month’s make-up only line up giving a much welcomed break from skincare and as always features products from established brands that we all love and know with an incredible value to match.

With four full size products, the January edition showcases the brands Too Faced, Lancome, Cargo and Too Faced, all of which are beautifully presented inside their signature black box secured with an organza ribbon giving it a very luxurious look and feel.

1. Too Faced Soul Mates Blush Bronzer – Full Size RRP £28.00

If there was ever a perfect make up duo it’s this blush bronzer from Too Faced and whilst we received this last month I really welcome the shade Carrie & Biggs to add to my collection as this one is more of a light to medium shade in comparison to Ross & Rachel, perfect if you want something a little more natural.

The Too Faced Soul Mates Blushing Bronzer is a bronzer and blush duo and it’s been cleverly named after Carrie & Biggs from Sex and the City! Everything about this just shouts cuteness, the outer packaging is really pretty and reminds me of a Polly Pocket and inside, you’re greeted with nothing but hearts!

Giving a beautiful sheen, tons of pigment with a buttery and luxurious formula, the bronzer is great for contouring, and the blush adds an instant glow to the cheeks.  Mixing both of the colours together really warms up the complexion so it’s ideal choice for this time of the year to cheat your way to sun-kissed skin!

2. Cargo Lip Gloss Quad – Full Size RRP £15.00

I’m not really a gloss kind of girl in the winter months but I really love this! The quad comes in a variety of shades and I received Casablanca that contains a nude, sheer shimmer, nude rose shimmer, and dark chocolate shimmer.

The glosses themselves are very soft and not the most long-wearing I’ve worn but aside from that, they give a lovely sheer colour and aren’t too sticky either.

3. Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb – RRP £19.00

This lip tint combines Lip Injection’s plumping technology with an explosion of satin color stain to create the look of fuller, luscious lips. With a variety of colours, I received the shade Not Enough Nude that has a peachy hue.

In terms of texture, this glides on without too much dragging and has more of a lipstick-feel. A few minutes after applying, there is a slight stinging sensation which is pretty normal with these types of products. This isn’t something I can see myself using but nonetheless it was great to try another product from the Too Faced collection.

4. Lancome Le Corrector Pro Palette – Full Size RRP £29.00

I’ve not tried anything from Lancome so was pretty excited to give this a go. The palette contains a corrector, a concealer, a matching powder to set all of your hard work, a mirror and a brush along with instructions so you know precisely where to place each product – absolutely brilliant!

The coverage is good and the consistency is very smooth which in turn really helps to blend the product in. If you want greater coverage, this concealer can also be layered. I really love this compact, it’s a great all rounder with everything you need to brighten and disguise those tell tale signs of a late night!

My Verdict

Known for their glamorous and lust worthy beauty boxes which incorporate a selection of essential and luxury products, the January edition is perfect for any make up junkie and for me personally it’s a very welcomed break from skincare as I’m inundated with lotions and potions at the moment! The only thing I would say is some brands are repeated quite frequently so I’d love for Cohorted to swap these out so it’s not so samey each month. I’m pretty happy with the line up this month there’s definitely quite a few highlights that I really welcome to my make up collection and as always the value is incredible so it’s definitely worth the £35.00 price tag.

If you lust over premium and high end brands or simply want a guilt-free treat each month the Cohorted Beauty Box really is great for that.

Spoiler Alert: The February edition will feature a full-sized Chanel Long-Wear Luminous Appartition  Eye Shadow (worth £25.00)
