The *March Lip Love bag has arrived and this month’s theme is centered around spreading your kindness with an inspiring quote from Vincent Van Gogh . I love the pastel colours incorporated within the design of this month’s bag and secretly I was hoping to see the same inside to welcome in spring! It’s not my favourite line up but they have included some interesting and innovative formulas in the form of a colour popping stain and skin perfecting treats that you’ll be able to pull off both day and night. Showcasing a collective of new discoveries from So Susan, Jelly Pong Pong and Trifle Cosmetics, the bag contains four items with an incredible value of £76.85.
The So Susan collection ranges from make-up to nail varnish combining their lovely portfolio of colours with science. Their philosophy is to create colours which last, are cruelty free and also much kinder to your skin. As well as the philosophy behind the brand, I love the feminine and pretty designed packaging which always stands out for me. I’ve tried quite a few products from their collection and already have a few firm favourites.
Each month, the Lip Love bag will include 3 full sized items and one bonus product from either Jelly Pong Pong or So Susan.
1. So Susan Luminaire – Full Size RRP £15.95
Luminaire™ is a creamy stick illuminator that you blend onto cheek bones & brow bones to instantly bring out the luminosity of your skin and adds a fresh, dewy glow to your complexion. You can also use it as an light, neutral eyeshadow whenever you want to look awake, rejuvenated and natural.
As mentioned in previous posts, highlighters/luminisers are featured quite regularly inside the Lip Love bags due to their popularity and whilst I don’t use these types of products daily I’m really liking the softness and subtleness of this one.
2. So Susan Crème Couture – Full Size RRP £13.95
This soft-focus cream, blush with Wrinkle Relief Complex is a cutting-edge mixture of rich cream and luminescent powder, for a truly revolutionary blush that is seamless, soft-focus and with a subtle halo effect. The innovative oil-free texture, not only ensures long-wearing adhesion onto skin, but provides an airy, ethereal glow.
The creamy matte peach/coral shade seems a little intimidating at first, but it’s actually a very wearable colour that gives a healthy flush of colour to the cheeks. It’s buildable formula means it can be applied sheer or you can go all out with a more bold finish.
When the weather starts to get warmer I much prefer a barely there look during the day so this is perfect for when you want minimal colour, but don’t want to go bare.
3. Jelly Pong Pong Supercharged – Super Intense Eyeshadow Duo – Full Size RRP £17.95
This eyeshadow shades within this palette are without a doubt so beautiful and really pack a punch with a super intense, groundbreaking eye shadow formulated in a proprietary cream-powder concentrated base that allows extreme long wear and maximum pigment focus. Not something I’d wear during the day but it’s a great choice for the evenings.
4. Trifle Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Jam – Full Size RRP £17.95
The water-based lip & cheek jam by Trifle Cosmetics gives you a sweet, healthy, natural flush of colour that lasts for 10 amazingly hydrated hours.
Whilst the invention of of lip and cheek stains are ingenious, I find them really tricky to use in terms of maneuvering the product and the fact that they sometimes stain way to quickly so it will be interesting to see how this performs.
My Verdict
So Susan have curated yet another interesting edition that features a good variety of new and exciting make up discoveries this month as well as a gorgeous bag to match but having said that it’s not my favourite line up as I would have loved some more spring inspired make up within the line up. Whilst Spring hasn’t sprung in terms of the weather, the line-up effortlessly warms things up with pops of colour to pep up dull winter complexions. As always the bag features all full sized products so it’s incredible value for money and great for those who want to discover more skin friendly and cruelty-free alternatives.
The Lip Love Bag literally caters for every make-up addict regardless of whether you’re a pro or just want to experiment with different products and shades that may usually be outside of your comfort zone. One of the aspects I really love is that So Susan are always churning out new revolutionary products so you can always expect to discover something new as well as some of their classic and popular products too.
