While I’ve been really impressed with Cohorted ever since they jumped on the beauty box wagon, the *March edition for the first time just doesn’t wow me mainly because of the three repeat products from last year! However those who missed out on these boxes previously will without a doubt appreciate the lovely line up featuring brands we all love and know with an incredible value to match, plus there’s no skincare so it will definitely be a crowd pleaser with the majority of the products all being full sized.

The March edition showcases the brands Thebalm, Nails Inc, Pixi and Bare Escentuals, all of which are beautifully presented inside their signature black box secured with an organza ribbon giving it a very luxurious look and feel.

1.   theBalm Nude Tude Eyeshadow Palette – Full Size RRP £35.00

The star within this months line up is the Nude Tude palette by the theBalm, a brand that’s very quickly become a favourite of mine.

The outer packaging has a very vintage boudoir feel which is carried throughout the palette itself. Whilst this may not be to everyone’s taste, I love the fun and slightly naughty artwork!

Inside there’s a dual ended brush (eyeliner and shadow brush) and a very good sized mirror. The palette consists of 12 neutral shades ranging from cool to warm tones, from matte to shimmer finishes. There are a variety of looks which can be created with this palette especially if you love nude/neutral looks and the darker shades are perfect for lining the eyes too, the black is surprisingly very pigmented as are the rest of the shades.

2.   theBalm Put a Lid on it Eyelid Primer – Sample Size 3.7ml Worth £5.00

Next up is sample of thebalm’s Eyelid Primer which makes the perfect pairing with the palette. The primer has a gel-like consistency with a light nude tint to it, which becomes invisible once you smooth it out over the lid. The finish is matte and slightly powdery and act’s as a great base for amplifying the eyeshadow. It’s not the best primer I’ve tried in terms of longevity but nonetheless a great opportunity to try out another formula.

3.    bareMinerals Heavenly Face Brush – Full Size RRP £22.00

Whilst I love lotions, potions and make-up, it’s really refreshing to a make up brush and whilst I received this previously I’m delighted to another as a back-up.

The Heavenly face brush promises to give you a feather-light application for all over the face with it’s large, soft, blunt-cut brush. The bristles are extremely soft and dense and has an added advantage of being really light weight.  It’s such a versatile brush and works well for applying foundation, face powder and even blusher. I love how this brush works with my makeup especially when blending out foundation and powder, it’s creates a smooth and flawless finish.

4.    Pixi Crayon Combo in Supernatural – Full Size RRP £14.50

My holy grail eyeliner is from Pixi so I was pretty excited to try something else from their collection.

Super Natural consists of a matte chocolate brown liner paired with a shadow and gives a nice polished finish for everyday without looking  too over done.

5.    Nails Inc Polish in Cadogan Square – Full Size RRP £8.00

I love Nails Inc varnishes  and Cadogan Square is a lovely caramel shade.

My Verdict

Cohorted have showcased some great brands this month but if you’ve been a loyal subscriber since last year then you’ll more than likely be disappointed to see the three repeat products and for me it’s something that really lets the box down however those who did miss out or have only just discovered the box will be pretty delighted with the line up.  Something else that’s also becoming apparent is the same brands are popping up quite regularly so I’d love if Cohorted swapped these out so it’s not so samey each month. As always the value is incredible so it’s definitely worth the splurge but they really need to bring that wow factor back as it’s somewhat lost it’s sparkle along the way.

If you lust over premium and high end brands or simply want a guilt-free treat each month the Cohorted Beauty Box really is great for that.
