Like me, you may be familiar with Molton Brown and their scents, but for me at least this was restricted to shower gels and their body lotions until the Molton Brown Fine Art of Discovery Box by the Perfume Society landed on my doorstep. This luxurious, British brand is renowned for their vivid colours and strong scents so it’s really hard not to fall in love with this discovery box which gives ample opportunity to explore their exotic collection of eau de toillettes created by some of the world’s leading perfumers and it’s presented inside a lovely gift box, the ideal guilt-free treat for yourself or that special someone.
Showcasing a collective of eight vials, the box is the perfect destination that introduces into the world of Molton Brown. Inside, you can also expect to find information cards for each product with a detailed overview as well as some perfume blotters too so you’re pretty much all set on the discovery to find your next signature scent.
1. Re-charge Black Pepper – 1.5ml EDT
Top notes: black pepper, lemon and ginger. Heart notes: coriander oil and basil. Base notes: vetiver, oak moss and amber gris.
The most popular from the famed Molton Brown line, is this warm and spicy concoction that recharges the mind making it the perfect way to start the day. It’s a wonderful, light spicy citrus that leans more toward a masculine fragrance.
2. Fiery Pink Pepper– 2ml EDP
Top notes: pink pepper, tangerine and elemi oil. Heart notes: nutmeg and ginger oil. Base notes: patchouli and cedarwood oil.
I was expecting this to be feminine and charming but instead it’s rather bold and spicy, not something I usually go for but nonetheless a very interesting scent.
3. Mesmerising Oudh Accord & Gold
Top notes: cinnamon leaf oil and nutmeg oil. Heart notes: elemi oil, myrrh oil and black tea accord. Base notes: oudh accord, vetiver, honey and tobacco accord.
This rich and luxurious scent is blended with warm aromas from the East that’s perfect for those hot summer nights and really transports me back to the souks of Dubai.
4. Ylang-Ylang
Top notes: tangerine, cardamom and ginger. Heart notes: ylang-ylang, jasmine and rose absolute. Base notes: vanilla, cedarwood and musk.
A relaxing, indulgent scent that’s perfect for when you want to wind down.
5. Heavenly Gingerlily
Top notes: cardamom, ginger and clove. Heart notes: tuberose, tagetes, lily and jasmine. Base notes: cedarwood, sandalwood and musk.
This is a lovely spicy, floriental fragrance that’s a great everyday scent and definitely one that I’ll be popping into my handbag.
6. Blossoming Honeysuckle & White Tea
Top notes: bergamot and mandarin. Heart notes: honeysuckle, white tea and jasmine. Base notes: sandalwood, heliotrope and vanilla.
Molton Brown have encapsulated summer right here with the sweet floral notes of honeysuckle balanced by extracts of white tea leaf making this such a delicate scent. It’s definitely my favourite from the collection.
7. Orange & Bergamot
Top notes: orange oil, bergamot, lemon and mandarin. Heart notes: petitgrain, cardamom and galbanum. Base notes: neroli, ylang-ylang and musk.
Orange & Bergamot really fends off the chill in the air with it’s invigorating notes and really is sunshine in a bottle.
8. Bushukan
Top notes: lemon oil, bergamot and basil. Heart notes: thyme oil and cedarwood. Base notes: cistus labdanum oil, vetiver and tolu absolute.
This stimulating, zesty fragrance promises to invigorate and awaken the senses in just a few sprays. Great for mornings that call for an extra refreshing boost.
My Verdict
I was so thrilled to learn that Molton Brown and the Perfume Society had teamed up together to create what is an amazing bargain discovery box that showcases an excellent collection of scents and is the perfect way to delve into a truly great brand. Having tried the majority, these scents are not shy in their impact and will not fail to envelope you in pure luxury. Molton Brown create wonderful delicious products that are bold, stand-outs and tantalise your senses and these eight sample fragrances from their ever so popular scent collection captures exactly that. Also, If you do happen to fall in love with a particular scent the box also includes a generous £10 off voucher than you can redeem against any of their fragrances.
Whilst there’s no full sized products there is enough of each sample to use for at least 3 days or more giving you plenty of time to decide which one(s) you like best and they’re perfect for traveling too.
