I’m absolutely loving the new lease of life that’s been injected into the Look Fantastic boxes in the last few months and the April #LFBlooms edition really is a breath of fresh air with a very spring inspired box design and a theme that celebrates Earth Month. With this in mind they’ve of course stuck to the theme by curating a brilliant line up that features natural, organic and eco-friendly beauty treats to help you bloom and get in touch Mother Nature with a variety of established brands in the industry. The box is worth over £50.00 and also includes an exclusive 7th bonus item so there’s a very generous selection on board this month as well as a copy of this month’s Elle Magazine and combine all that together it’s such a great value for money edition covering an impressive area of beauty and showcases both well-known and upcoming brands but it was disappointing to see two repeats from their previous editions.
The Look Fantastic box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skincare, haircare, cosmetic and body products, catering for every beauty lover.
This month’s box is filled with a generous mix of treats and showcases the brands Rituals, Bloom and Blossom, Briogeo, Elemis, Tanworx, Balance Me and My Vitamins.
1. Rituals Ginseng & Ginkgo Biloba Miracle Scrub – Full Size 75ml. RRP £11.50
I’m not going to lie but hand cream is as far as I go when it comes to hand care and whilst I love Ritual’s this isn’t something I would have picked out myself! Enriched with nourishing oils, this gritty yet gentle scrub really sloughs away dead skin leaving your hands feeling silky smooth with a dreamy fragrance making it a lovely pampering treat.
2. Bloom and Blossom Bath and Shower Gel – Travel Size 50ml
This foaming Bath and Shower Gel from Bloom and Blossom is enriched with vitamin E and organic cucumber extracts, that’s delicate to skin and safe to use throughout pregnancy and motherhood. The fragrance-free gel gently cleanses and hydrates skin to leave your whole body feeling silky smooth.
I love receiving shower gels so this is a very welcomed addition this month.
3. Balance Me Super Toning Body Polish – Travel Size 50ml
The Balance Me Super Toning Body Polish boasts some great key benefits that includes improved skin tone, smoothness, and elastin-boosting properties. The product uses ground walnut shells and blackberry leaf extract to work powerfully to slough away dead skin cells and to encourage cell renewal. The signature blend by Balance Me also includes naturally active essential oils including, juniper, geranium, lavender and bergamot which help to purify the skin giving it a wonderful relaxing scent.
I’ve tried this scrub from a previous box and absolutely loved the relaxing scent. It’s ideal for the evenings when you need to unwind and works just as well as an everyday scrub too.
4. Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask – Sample size 29ml
Fortified with ultra-hydrating avocado, sweet almond & argan oils, strengthening keratin protein, power-conditioning rosehip oil, soothing aloe, and super hair-essential vitamins B5, D, A, E and biotin. This unique complex of targeted ingredients helps increase hair elasticity and moisture to prevent breakage, promotes healthy shine and luster, and replenishes strength.
When it comes to hair, I made the switch to natural and organic products ever since I my hair extensions got put in so I can’t wait to give this a go.
5. Elemis British Botanical Hand & Nail Butter – Sample Size 20ml
I love hand creams so i’m delighted to welcome this one from Elemis to my collection. Harnessing the powerful ingredients grown in the countryside, the formula is infused with a blend of lavender, geranium, chamomile and palmarosa to calm and soothe over-worked hands.
6. Tanworx Tan Maintainer by Monu Skincare – Travel Size – 60ml
If you’ve been a loyal subscriber to the Look Fantastic Box this is a repeat from their September edition so I’m a little disappointed to see it again. Working to maintain your tan for longer the Tanworx Tan maintainer is formulated with carrot oil, coconut oil and sunflower oil to moisturise the skin, plus Hyaluronic Acid and Seaweed. Perfect for avoiding streaks and helps you to maintain your golden glow throughout the colder months.
7. My Vitamins Performance Effervescent – x20 Tablets
Covering inner beauty too, this is another repeat from the January 2015 box. The Effervescent dissolvable tablets contain 1000mg of Vitamin C and you simply pop one tablet into a glass water for a great tasting drink which is easy to consume and is great for those who need a little boost when you’re feeling run down.
My Verdict
This months Look Fantastic edition really shouts all things spring with a gorgeous box design and once again they’ve showcased such a brilliant curation that not only introduces you to a good variety of well known and upcoming skin-friendly brands but it impressively features a very generous amount of goodies too and is perfect for those who are thinking of making the switch to an all natural beauty regime. I love the addition of the magazine again this month and the themed curation is so spot on but having said that it was disappointing to see two repeats from previous editions especially when Look Fantastic are a full blown beauty destination with lots of other brands within their portfolio, surely they could have sourced some other products! All in all despite the two repeats, I think the remainder has made up for the shortfall – there’s some really useful products and a good mix of things to try from the amazing, hard working elements of nature, all of which comes in at bargain of £15.00.
The Look Fantastic Beauty Box without a doubt gives you ample opportunity to try more upmarket beauty brands without the hefty price tag and for only £15.00 it’s a great way to trial beauty products from brands we all love and know alongside some new discoveries too.
