The showstoppers inside the Love Me Boutique without a doubt is the Make Up For Ever collection and it’s such a welcomed addition as I’ve been wanting to try out this brand ever since it landed at Debenhams and I can’t wait to have a play over in the next few days.
First up from the collection is the Step 1 Skin Equalizer Smoothing Primer (Travel size 15ml. RRP £13.00) that promises to instantly fill in & blur imperfections for silky soft skin. The satiny, non-oily formula evens out skin texture by minimising pores, wrinkles & fine lines to leave the skin looking resurfaced & perfectly smooth for flawless makeup all day long.
To complete that final step in your make up regime there’s also the HD Powder (Full Size 4g. Worth £11.50), a micro finish powder that’s a new generation of makeup which is both invisible on HD cameras and to the naked eye and comes in one universal shade to make the skin absolutely radiant. It sets the foundation and matifies the skin without changing its natural contours. Consisting of mineral silica powder, its talc-free formula is non-drying and be can be worn alone or applied over foundation.
I mainly focus on my eyes so I was delighted to see the Excessive Lash (Travel Size 4.5ml) that’s a new addition to the Make Up For Ever family and creates long lasting panoramic volume that fans out for a truly dramatic, eye-opening effect. The no-smudge formula builds this intense lash look, while the exclusive slim double-fiber brush works to load from root to tip and ensure absolutely no clumps.
2. Tangle Teezer Blow-Styling Hair Brush – (20 credits) Travel Size RRP £16.50
I’ve been very loyal to my original pink Tangle Teezer ever since I had my hair extensions put in and it’s robustness has really stood the test of time so I was really excited to see their Blow-Styling Brush as it’s completely different to the original design we all know and love.
This innovative tool takes hair from wet to dry; gliding effortlessly through to remove excess moisture for a quicker, easier blow dry. Perfect for all hair types, the brush is designed to be used after the hair has been brushed and detangled, for that perfect blow dry finish. Its fixed base teeth allow for free-flow tension, so there’s no harsh tugging, snagging or breakage, and excess moisture is removed from the hair shaft to guarantee a quicker blow-dry.
3. Caudalie Make Up Removing Cleansing Oil – (10 credits) Travel Size 30ml. RRP £4.00
I’m not normally a fan of oils for removing makeup, mainly due to the oiliness but I’ve fallen in love with the Caudalie Cleansing Oil.
Just a couple of squirts easily breaks down makeup and even the most stubborn mascara and makes something that’s usually a chore a complete pleasure, the delicate scent makes this the perfect pick me up for the mornings too.
4. Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum – (10 credits) Travel Size 10ml RRP £13.00
Being oily skinned, I much prefer serums as opposed to heavy duty moisturisers and the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum by Caudalie is something I’ve tried previously and loved.
The Serum promises to creates a radiant complexion, corrects dark spots and prevents them from reappearing making the skin evened out and more radiant. Its oil-free formula is suitable for all skin types too.
5. Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm – (20 credits) Full Size RRP £12.00
The Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm is an extremely versatile, healing and nourishing balm thanks to one key ingredient, Lanolin. The formula is 100% natural, hyper allergenic, odourless and contains no parabens. I already use this as a lip balm and it’s great for chapped or sore lips and is a true hero during the colder months. The balm also has multi purpose uses and isn’t just restricted for the lips. It soothes dry and sensitive skin and can be used for dry cuticles, dry skin patches, burns and abrasions, sore nipples, split ends and eczema.
6. Neon Pink Blending Sponge – (20 credits)
I love using these types of sponges when it comes to foundation application so I’m really happy to recieve a back-up from Love Me Beauty’s very own collection. It looks and feels just like the beauty blender so I can’t wait to see how this compares.
7. Monu Renu Extra Firming Lip and Eye Active Lift – (10 credits)
Using wild yam extract to promote collagen production, the Renu Lip And Eye Active Lift is formulated with soya extract to increase skin lipids. Amino acid hydroxyproline stimulates the contraction of collagen fibres to help firm and plump up deeper lying wrinkles, while ginseng and magnesium gently relax fine muscles to smooth and lift before arnica helps to reduce under-eye puffiness.
My Verdict
Growing leaps and bounds each month with a tempting array of products from well-known brands to new discoveries, the April Love Me Beauty Boutique includes such an exceptional shortlist this month and I think it’s pretty AH-mazing to see some good sized travel samples from Make Up For Ever especially when you take into account their retail value so it’s an utter bargain plus it’s not the easiest brand to get hold of in the UK. When you combine the other beauty treats into the mix there is literally something for everyone with an excellent choice of brands. Whether you love makeup, skincare, hair accessories or a little bit of everything Love Me Beauty have got you covered with a collective of seasonally appropriate treats that effortlessly gives your beauty regime a refresh for spring.
