I think the April Spring Preen Glossybox definitely arrives with a promising line up this month to give our beauty regimes a fresh start for spring and is centered around out with the old and in with the new. Covering skincare, nails, teeth whitening and a couple of make up treats there’s quite a few new discoveries from the high street as well as a couple of emerging brands that’s really sparked my interest. I think there’s a good variety of beauty and with the majority of the products being full sized it’s definitely a winner for me and quite possibly one of my favourite editions so far this year.

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 4-5 selected hair, make-up , body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands and includes a mixture of full sized and sample products.

1.  Next Make Me Beautiful Lip Chubby – Full Size RRP £8.00

I can’t even remember the last time I paid a visit to Next so it was nice to be requited again with a lip product from their beauty collection. The shade cherry red is a very pretty pillar box red and mimics the same properties and formula of a chubby stick with a lovely buttery feel. I’m pleasantly surprised by the quality and if this is anything to go by then I think it’s definitely worth checking out the Next Beauty Collection on your next visit.

2. Leighton Denny Expert Nails Miracle Mist – Full Size 12ml RRP £12.00

I’m not the most patient person when it comes to waiting for my nails to dry, and anything that helps speed up that process is always welcome. This non-sticky formula works to condition the cuticles, whilst drying the nails in seconds, meaning you don’t have to sit around waiting for them to dry. I usually find these kinds of sprays a bit greasy and oily so it will be interesting to see how this compares.

3. Swiss Smile Whitening Toothpaste – Full Size 15ml. Full Size RRP £28.95

Who doesn’t want a Hollywood glam, red carpet smile? Unfortunately as the years have passed my teeth aren’t as pearly white as they used to be and whilst the teeth whitening concept has really hit off I much prefer  to stick to formula’s that are non-abrasive and this is where the Swiss Smile Whitening Toothpaste steps in.

Unlike some of the teeth whitening treatment available, this promises to brighten your teeth without any danger of attacking the actual surface or bleaching your teeth. This scientifically proven advantage is based on a smart combination of active ingredients, which remove stains, avoid new staining and gently restores teeth to their natural whiteness. I’m really excited to try this and it’s a very generous full sized product so you’ll really be able to judge whether it works or not.

4. Studio 10 Brow Lift Perfecting Liner – Full Size RRP £22.00

A universal eye pencil that suits all – now that’s a huge claim! I’ve got dark brown eyebrows and on first glance there was no way on this planet that this ash brown pencil was going to work for me and I wasn’t wrong although having said that it wasn’t too far off.

The pencil itself has just the right texture so it’s not too soft or too hard and it also has vitamin E in it, which is a bonus. The highlighter on the other side makes the perfect pairing and you can apply it under and over the brows. The pencil also supports cancer charity Look Good Feel Better in their #raise1brow campaign and when you buy one of their ‘best selling’ brow pencils, they will donate one, worth £22

5. The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil  – Sample Size 7ml

Made from 99% natural origin oils, this little sample is packed full of nutrients to revitalise the skin, replenish nutrition, revive radiance and visibly reduce the signs of waging and it’s the perfect addition inside this month’s box. It’s triple blend of powerful oils from Egypt, Chile and China promises to bring life back into your skin. It’s infused with Black Cumin Seed Oil that’s known for its high concentration of antioxidants, Camelia Seed Oil that’s rich in nutritive oleic acids and Rosehip Seed Oil rich in Omega 3s and 6s. For a oil-type product it’s incredibly lightweight in texture and absorbs into the skin quickly too.

My Verdict

If you’re a fan of the out with old, this month’s Glossybox contains the ideal line up for blasting away the last of the winter blues and will perk you up in no time with a really good variety of beauty treats from well-known brands plus some new discoveries too. For me there was only a couple of products that wasn’t suited for me but I’m delighted with the remainder and I think there’s some great essentials on board that I’ll definitely continue to use. Compared to last month’s box the April edition boasts incredible value for money and with the majority all full sized you’ll be able to judge whether they work for you or not. I think the April line up is quite possibly one of my favourites this year.
