There are lots of things that I’ve learned about the beauty world since becoming a beauty box obsessive, from handy tips and tricks, to discovering holy grail products but what sparked my interest in the first place back in 2013 was the opportunity to explore new brands and products. While there’s comfort in the familiar and trusted, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of discovering something new and the Little Known Box does exactly that by showing off some of the best premium, effective and innovative products on the market from independent, niche, upcoming and emerging brands with ethics and wellness in mind. They’ve impressively covered all areas of beauty with something for everyone to enjoy with an incredible value to match.

Little-Known Box is the UK’s newest luxurious beauty subscription box, who promises to ship 5-6 products to you per month, to discover, try and enjoy at home. In addition to monthly subscriptions they also offer gift subscriptions and one-off boxes, providing a truly flexible beauty subscription experience! Featured brands are carefully selected and include full and sample size luxury products from skincare, makeup, hair, body and grooming products to nail care, nail art, lifestyle and beauty accessories (with the occasional surprise thrown in!). You might see some well known brands featured, but they will be little-known products or new launches! Here’s what’s inside their first ever edition:

First up we have the Moisturiser 3x from British brand Flint + Flint (full size 50ml RRP £42.00) that comes with a whopping price tag so it’s a very generous addition this month. The packaging is unique and quite striking I love the muted grey with the striking neon but it’s what’s inside that really packs a punch. This rich repair cream protects against glycation, boosts collagen and elastin production and regenerates the skin with a powerful combination of active ingredients including Hyaluronic Acid, Retinol and Malikara Leaf to reverse the signs of premature ageing. It’s a little too rich for my oily skin but works absolutely wonders as a hand cream but dry skin types will absolutely love this.

While The Vintage Cosmetic Company are no strangers to me I can see why they’ve been featured as I only discovered them thanks to beauty boxes so it’s great to see them on board this month. The rose gold Eyelash Curler (RRP £7.00) is so dainty and pretty and will not fail to stand out amongst your beauty tools.

The Medusa’s Make-up Lip Gloss in Bite Me (full size £6.25) is a gorgeous red with pink undertones that leaves your lips looking oh so kissable and luscious and being on the sheer side it’s really wearable too. With an all natural formula it also benefits from being vegan, paraben and cruelty free too.

Exfoliating scrubs are really having a moment in the beauty world and the Dirtea Exfoliating Charcoal Scrub (sachet sample 14g) promises to gently slough away dead skin cells and blemishes while ensuring lovely fresh skin throughout the day.  The sample is a little tiny but you’ll definitely be able to get at least one use out of it, think I’ll save mine for travelling.

Last but not least is a pack of Thumbs Up Designer Wraps in Goldstone (RRP £7.99), a pretty set of nail wraps that scream all things summer. If you’re tired of painting your nails, only to have your polish chip days later then this appears to be a good alternative and will be interesting to see how these hold up.

My Verdict

While it’s always delightful seeing products from popular brands that we all love, know and trust pop up inside our beauty boxes I think it’s also refreshing and such a nice change to see what’s new and upcoming in the beauty world and with that in mind I’m pleased to report that their first edition definitely delivered on all fronts from the luxe packaging and attention to detail, the hand picked goodies, the new finds and of course the generous sized products, an impressive debut I’d say!  The variety of products was great, covering everything from make up, to skincare, nails, and a make up tool. In addition to the above there’s also various exclusive discounts so if you happen to fall in love with something there’s good savings to be had. If you want to be introduced to a number of beautiful and interesting products then the Little-Known Box is definitely a box you’ll want to have on your radar.
