Well this wonderful box really doesn’t need any introduction and while the weather isn’t playing nice at the moment summer is finally and officially here in the form of the Glamour Summer Edit and as expected it’s nothing short of fabulous and is brimmed to the top with a little something from just about every section of the beauty department. Showcasing brands we all love and know in addition to some new discoveries too, all of which have been selected by the Glamour’s very own Beauty Editor, Alessandra Steinherr I think there’s lots to love inside this edition and it certainly will not fail to get you into that summer spirit!
1. Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour – Full Size £8.99
Revlon is probably one of my favourite brands from the high street and I particularly took a shine to their Colour Burst Matte Balms so it was equally exciting to try out another lip product from their collection.
The very sleek looking Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor promises a light-weight, moisturizing, wax-free, and velvety smooth formula and I can confirm it’s exactly what it claims to be and the gorgeous pop of pink in the shade Devotion is the perfect shade to flaunt this summer plus it smells incredible!
While this isn’t uber matte I love the satin like finish and on the plus side it doesn’t dry out your lips and I managed to get at around 4 hours wears which is pretty impressive. The applicator is a standard doe-foot but I like that it’s thin enough to get that precision.
2. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray – Travel Size 75ml RRP £19.00
The Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray was a product that I was immediately intrigued with, an alternative to the normal dry shampoo that not only takes away any hints of greasiness, but it also adds texture and volume giving you the best of both worlds and is known for being essentially liquid gold in a spray so I of course wanted in on this!
Promising full-on glamorous and of course clean hair, it contains patented polymers which absorb oil at the roots, leaving you with just-styled hair for days (and nights).
There is zero white cast (yay!) and it did a fantastic job in soaking up excess oil just like a dry shampoo but worked ever so effectively in comparison to what I currently use. What makes this stand out from the rest is it magically also adds a tons volume and texture without that crunchy feel and instead left my hair feeling rather soft.
If you’re a dry shampooholic (is that even a thing?) like me, you will seriously heart this dry shampoo/texture spray by Oribe and it’s a must-have for those nights out when your hair needs a little vavavoom!
3. St Tropez Self-Tan Bronzing Mist – Full Size 125ml RRP £14.00
There’s no shame in faking that sun kissed glow every now and again and the St Tropez Self-Tan Bronzing Mist promises to do exactly that.
This is their most iconic, natural and healthy looking tan that lasts for days and is a super-fine, 360 degree spray offering streak-free results with an easy to apply formula.
4. Aurelia Probiotic Miracle Cleanser + Muslin Cloth + £10 Gift Card
If you’re after a more luxurious, spa-like experience when it comes to your cleansing regime, then this gentle, effective and kind to your skin Miracle Cleanser by Aurelia is such a great choice and has very quickly become a favourite of mine. This rich cleansing cream is massaged into dry skin, and wiped away with the accompanying muslin cloth. It fuses probiotic and peptide technologies with BioOrganic plant and flower essences to hydrate and soothe dull and dehydrated skin promoting a luminous, dewy, radiant glow whilst helping to prevent skin ageing.
Something about the whole ritual is incredibly pampering when Aurelia are involved, and takes the whole process of getting ready for bed to a new level especially when combined with their Refine & Polish Miracle Balm – my holygrail exfoliator! It breaks down makeup incredibly well and leaves your skin feeling soft and rejuvenated. In addition, the muslin cloth provides gentle exfoliation to help aid in the process of cell turnover, as well as doing a fantastic job of wiping away eye makeup too. 5. Nuxe Prodigeaux Shower Oil – Travel Size 30ml
This ultra-sensorial shower oil which gently cleanses, leaves a satin finish and a delicate fragrance for a moment of pure pleasure and really is sunshine in a bottle that carries the signature Huile Prodigieuse scent, I can’t wait to slather this on as it smells absolutely AH-mazing!
6. Ladival Sun Protection SPF 30 Spray – Full Size RRP
Ladival is certainly making the rounds inside various beauty boxes this month and with sunscreen being such a staple this time of the year it’s a useful addition to have on standby.
Boasting advanced ingredients but they host a wide array of skin-caring benefits to ensure we’re protected from harmful damaging rays, four times more than those currently on the market thanks to their advanced Infrared-A protection system (IR-D Infrared Defence™).
With an impressive ingredient list the formula claims to be gentle, non-greasy and does not contain any preservatives, perfumes, colorants, fats, paragons or PEG emulsifiers making Ladival ideal for sensitive or oily skin. It’s also water resistant and keeps working even when you go in the water.
7. WOW Mask Luxury Face Mask – X1 RRP £14.00
I love it when science and beauty join forces and this natural alternative to injectables from WOW Mask is infused with active ingredients which have been finely balanced to deliver the treatment quickly. This luxury collagen facial mask treatment promises to instantly lift, rejuvenate and allow you to bring the natural joy of life back to your skin. With the mask retailing at £14.00 per sachet I’m not expecting a miraculous transformation of my skin but I do hope I’ll be able to see some noticeably results as it sounds like the perfect pick me up when you’re skin’s a little lacklustre.
8. Grounded Chocolate Orange Body Scrub – Sample Pack
There’s been quite a lot of hype over social media about coffee based scrubs and while I’ve only tried a couple they do offer a host of benefits for the skin and the hit of coffee does not fail to wake you up first thing in the morning but this one certainly powers up a notch with burst of orange! Infused with vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants, the Grounded Chocolate Orange Body scrub promises to buff away dry, dead, flakey skin and the anti-oxidants in the added Cacao oil are known to help prevent premature ageing.
My Verdict
The Glamour Edits are undeniably one of my favourite collaboration boxes from Latest in Beauty, there’s so much to love about them and their latest installment is no exception. As always they’ve done a pretty great job of sourcing products that fit in with their theme as well as partnering with some great brands with a beauty menu that literally has something from every section of the beauty department. The line up showcases a fabulous selection of beauty staples perfect for getting in that summer mindset as well as some really useful essentials to accompany you on those summer holidays, I’ve had so much fun trying the majority out and I’ve definitely found some products that I love and will be incorporating into my summer beauty routine. As for the sun protection well I’ll be keeping this on standby and fingers crossed July makes up for the miserable weather we’ve had! Representing great value for money and with a price tag of only £20.00 you’re getting a great haul worth an incredible £104 with a mixture of full sized products as well as generous travel samples so if you want to refresh your beauty stash or curious about any of the brands featured then it’s definitely one you won’t to miss and I think it’s quite possibly their best yet.
