Admittedly, I’ve been in and out of love with Cohorted this year but recently they’ve sparked my interest again and the jam-packed *July edition is such a great example of what they stand for and do best and what a showstopper it is! Covering mainly make-up (yay!) and a couple of skincare and body treats they’ve showcased some amazing brands this month and I’m really delighted with what they’ve selected, it’s such a good all rounder too. With generous sized travel companions in addition to some full sized products it’s worth an incredible £114.45 plus they’ve sourced a couple of new brands too which is something I always welcome.

The July edition showcases the brands Bobbi Brown, NarsHD Brows, Bellapierre and The Vintage Cosmetic Company all of which are beautifully presented inside their signature black box secured with an organza ribbon giving it a very luxurious look and feel.

1.   Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil – Travel Size RRP £10.00

I have to admit a couple of years ago I was sceptical and terrified of using oil type products on my oily skin but I took the plunge after reading some wise words from Ole Henrikson who basically advised to fight fire with fire and I’ve not looked back ever since! Not everything I’ve tried has been effective but sometimes there’s that odd performer and this Soothing Cleansing Oil by Bobbi Brown is one of them.

This cleansing oil is a quick yet luxurious way to cleanse skin and is made with soothing jasmine flower extract (sourced directly from France), moisturizing kukui nut oil, and a blend of Italian olive, organic sunflower and jojoba oils to dissolve surface impurities and makeup without leaving skin feeling tight or dry. It breaks down makeup and even the toughest waterproof mascara and is a great choice for that first cleanse. I’m not usually a fan of scented facial products but I love the subtleness which really evokes a sense of calm and can be used in the morning to wake up and refresh the skin, or at night as a soothing end to a long day.

2.   Nars Monoi Body Glow II  – Travel Size 30ml Worth £13.50

I’m a huge NARS fan and while I’m no stranger to their make up this is my first introduction to something from their body collection and what an apt addition too!

Made by infusing refined Polynesian coconut oil with fresh Tiaré flowers, the Monoï Body Glow Oils delivers a blend of hydrating essences native to Tahiti with notes of white frangipani, ylang-ylang and vanilla it smells absolutely divine.

If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know how much I adore beautiful packaging! Made of glass, the simple yet luxe packaging with the flower submerged is aesthetically pleasing and as for the formula it’s beautiful. The subtle sheen really made my skin look healthy rather than greasy and also doubles up so you can even apply it on your hair.

3.  HD Brows Sculpt & Glow Palette in Light/Medium  – Full Size RRP £45.00

HD Brows was featured last month and I absolutely fell in love with their brow palette so I’m delighted to welcome their Sculpt & Glow Palette to my collection.

This duo palette promises to contour and highlight your key features and promises to add depth and definition to your face with a balm formula that glides on to the skin and are incredible easy to blend, creating an on-trend and sculpted look.

The contour shade look very scary in the pan so I’m hoping it doesn’t look so harsh when I apply it!

4.  The Vintage Cosmetics Company Blending Sponge – RRP £5.95

When it comes to foundation and concealer application I definitely prefer make up sponges so I never say no to a back-up especially when it’s pink and comes from The Vintage Cosmetics Company – I adore their make-up tools.

Perfectly shaped to work make-up into all of those hard to reach places and suitable for use with foundation, concealer and highlighter, it’s infused with Vitamin E, which is renowned for its moisturising properties and also promises a streak-free effect.

5.   Bellapierre Gel Lip Liner in Cinnamon and Mineral Lipstick in Envy – RRP £20.00 each

The Bellapierre Gel Lip Liner in Cinnamon is a warm brown colour that makes the perfect pairing with the lipstick shade Envy so it’s great to see them both on board. The consistency of lip liner is very creamy but dries matte and is super pigmented. I think this would actually go nicely with a lot of lipsticks that I currently own.

Up next is the pinky brown lipstick shade in Envy which goes on smoothly, delivers moisture, long-lasting colour and provides natural protection from the sun so it’s a great must-have for the hot, sunny days but I would have liked to have seen a more summery shade.

My Verdict

Oh Cohorted how I love you guys for curating such a fabulous line up this month! In comparison to previous editions they’ve made a heck of an improvement recently and this is probably the best box I’ve received from them this year. Containing some seriously lust-worthy products from established brands that we all love and know as well from all spectrums of the beauty industry , they have indeed pulled out all the stops to bring us a collective of summer must-haves and essentials for everyday that not only covers a good area of beauty but they’ve also partnered with a couple of different brands this month which is always refreshing to see. The only thing I would say is the lip shades do seem more appropriate for the winter months but having said that the warmth definitely brings some much needed colour to my pale complexion!  All in all I think the majority is all very usable and there’s a very generous amount of treats this month so in terms of value it’s fantastic and I hope we get to see more edits just like this one.

If you lust over premium and high end brands or simply want a guilt-free treat each month the Cohorted Beauty Box really is great for that.
