The *September Birchbox has landed and I’m sure you’ll agree there’s so much to love! Not only has the ever so popular drawer made a comeback but this month’s theme is centered around heroes and inside you’ll find a delightful assortment of beauty treats guaranteed to make the month of September feel that little brighter. Once again they’ve partnered with some great brands, all of which I’m already familiar with so it was exciting to discover some new finds from them all. In terms of the design, I love the combination of colours for this month’s edition, they gel together so well all thanks to Phillippa Colliass whose moodboard was picked for this month’s design inspiration.

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 5 luxe beauty treats from well-known brands and emerging brands and occasionally you may also receive a lifestyle item too. Birchbox is also a full-blown beauty destination where you can purchase all the brands which have been featured in their boxes with an exceptional and very generous reward program.

1.   ModelCo Highlighting Trio – Full Size RRP £17.00

Here’s a product that effortlessly brings back glowing skin! The Model Co Highlighting Trio contains a luminiser for highlighting cheekbones, a satin-finish blush for cheeks and a glowing bronzer that helps contour and define and together it’s a very versatile and a great all-in-one product.

I’m not a fan of too much shimmer and this trio really ticks all the boxes for both day and evening wear. All the shades blend out to a beautiful soft finish and instantly revives and brightens dull skin.

2.   Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Blemish-Less  Travel Size 15ml. Full Size RRP £29.00

This is by far, my favourite product from this month’s box, I’m so in love! The primer is a relatively new introduction to the Laura Mercier line and promises to help with blemishes, blur imperfections, reduce oiliness & redness while also calming redness.

Being on the oily side of the spectrum this magically does exactly what I want it to do, the texture is very light weight and feels really comfortable on the skin. It does blur imperfections somewhat and feels soothing, but the main thing I’ve noticed is that I get less oily which in turn definitely helps the wear time of my foundation.  A true hero product that stands out from any other primer in my arsenal in my opinion!

3.   Nuxe Prodigieux Shower Oil  – Travel Size 30ml. Full Size RRP £10.00

There’s something about shower oils that mimics pure luxury and this one by Nuxe is no exception and is something that’s popped up inside quite a few boxes but I’m happy to add another to my back-up stash!

This ultra-sensorial shower oil gently cleanses, leaves a satin finish and a delicate fragrance for a moment of pure pleasure and really is sunshine in a bottle, it smells absolutely AH-mazing! Aside from the gorgeous fragrance, the shower oil feels absolutely heavenly on the skin and makes showering feel rather indulgent.

4.   amika Bombshell Blowout Spray  – Travel Size 29.6ml. Full Size RRP £14.99

This lightweight spray contained within beautiful, happy packaging works on both damp and dry hair to give you the perfect blowout, protecting, nourishing, smoothing, and volumizing hair. It also serves as a light hold mist for dry hair and can facilitate restyling. I can’t wait to give this a go!

5.   STARSKIN Eye Catcher – x1 Pack

Late nights and staring at a computer screen for 8+ hours a day is not forgiving on my eyes so the Starskin Eye Catcher is certainly a welcomed addition. Described as a smoothing Bio-Cellulose eye mask that delivers a powerful serum complex to leave eyes look instantly brighter, radiant and rejuvenated. The Bio-Cellulose mask has been specially created for the delicate eye contours and is formulated with naturally fermented, vitamin-rich coconut juice. This ultra-hydrating, smoothing eye mask saturates the skin with an incredible 12 ml of serum containing wrinkle-smoothing Adenosine, brightening licorice root extract and soothing Allantoin.

My Verdict

I have to give it to Birchbox, this month’s collection including the ever so pretty design is so on point and in terms of the line up they’ve chosen such a lovely assortment of products with a good balance showcasing haircare, skin and body treats plus two makeup items – all of which are things universal enough to be enjoyed by almost everyone. Can we also appreciate for a moment how generous the samples are this month? I’ll definitely be getting quite a lot of use out of everything which is definitely a bonus and there’s quite a few solid beauty staples that I’m really happy to have discovered especially the Laura Mercier Primer that’s very quickly become a firm favourite. The ever so popular drawer also made a comeback this month and I really hope it’s featured again as how amazing would they look all stacked up together. All in all I’ve really enjoyed September’s offering and I can’t wait to see what October has in store.

If you like trying out products from well-known, loved and emerging brands then Birchbox is definitely great for this. The subscription itself is affordable and the monthly rotation of treats introduces you to brands and products you might not have otherwise found, all of which can be purchased within their online shop. Whilst Birchbox send out smaller samples with 1-2 full sized items, in my opinion they are much more consistent and are more likely to send you something that you feel the need to purchase.
