*Little-known Box is a fairly new addition to the subscription market and I for one am delighted to have them on board as their curations not only boast good value for money but their unique selling point is that they scout new finds in the form of lesser known brands and new product launches and put them in them in the spotlight for the attention of all us beauty enthusiasts month on month inside their signature chic box! For their September edition they’ve listened to their subscribers and excitingly have featured a mainly make-up line up which is really refreshing as I’m inundated with skin care  at the moment and while the overall value isn’t going to blow you away I think it’s really positive when a company takes on board feedback so that alone is pretty amazing plus I do love a good make up haul.

This newest luxurious beauty subscription box promises to ship 5-6 products to you per month, to discover, try and enjoy at home. In addition to monthly subscriptions they also offer gift subscriptions and one-off boxes, providing a truly flexible beauty subscription experience! Featured brands are carefully selected and include full and sample size luxury products from skincare, makeup, hair, body and grooming products to nail care, nail art, lifestyle and beauty accessories (with the occasional surprise thrown in!). You might see some well known brands featured, but they will be little-known products or new launches!

Here’s what they featured inside their September edition:

With autumn now upon us the Siskyn Frankincense & Jasmine Night Facial Oil (Travel size 10ml RRP £12.00)  is such an apt addition inside this month’s box and is described as an overnight skin boosting treatment that also benefits from being 100% organic. The oil is infused with amazing ingredients such vitamin rich Organic Rosehip for its antioxidant properties to help combat free radical damage and to increase collagen production plus soothing and calming Organic Calendula and collagen boosting Organic Baobab to aid skin maintenance. The oil itself comes in a handy travel sized bottle with a rollerball which is brilliant because you only need a little plus there’s no mess at all. In addition to keeping your skin hydrated the dreamy scent also promotes calmness and serenity making it the perfect aid for a dreamy nights sleep.

On the make-up front you can expect to see a pack of Strip Lashes from Lash Unlimited (RRP £2.50), a incredibly budget friendly brand who boast a collection of over 20 styles of strip and individual lashes. The lashes I received give length and volume and is exactly what I would have picked out myself. I can’t wait to try these.

What better way to start the new season than with a new autumnal lipstick from a brand hailing all the way from the US! The Peeks Cosmetics Matte Lipstick (full size £9.20) in the shade Quik Sand is a classic brown and so fitting but unfortunately isn’t something I’ll be able to pull off but the formula is so dreamy and doesn’t leave your lips craving for moisture. I’d love to explore more shades from this collection especially the reds!

I already own the Nanshy Marvel Blender (£5.95) so this isn’t a new find for me but it’s always handy to have another on standby! The sponge  is uniquely designed to make applying your makeup as easy and flawless as possible. It has 4 surfaces which means it can do just about everything you need for you to achieve the perfect finish. The quality of the sponge especially for the price is really impressive and boasts being cruelty-free, latex free, non-allergenic and odour free too.

Last but not least and perhaps the most crucial of all my cold weather essentials is lip balm! Epic Blend isn’t a brand I’ve been introduced to before but their Vegan Lip Balm in Peach (RRP £2.69) is described as the peachiest with a super-smooth formula that’s really moisturising!

My Verdict

Focusing on a mainly make up line up after taking into account the feedback they’ve received from their subscribers I think Little-Known box have selected some great picks this month and I’m sure you’ll agree it’s an area that’s really hard to get 100% right especially when you’re catering for the masses as everyone’s so different but overall it’s a pretty good attempt. In addition to the make up I loved that they also included an apt pampering skin care treat from Siskyn, it smells heavenly and my skin wakes up feeling super soft and nourished. All of the products I received were full sized and while the value isn’t going to bowl you over in comparison to previous months, the new finds I’ve discovered have definitely compensated for this shortfall.

Little-known box definitely outdoes itself every month by giving its subscribers a great selection of products and I love that they put non-mainstream brands and the latest innovations in the spotlight which in turn definitely puts the fun and excitement into the unboxing experience. In addition to the above you’ll also find exclusive discounts for each of the brands showcased so if you happen to fall in love with something there’s good savings to be had. If you want to be introduced to a number of beautiful and interesting products that are sourced from ethical brands then the Little-Known Box is definitely a box you’ll want to add to your list.

I can’t wait to see what they have in store for October as it’s their 6th month anniversary and to celebrate they’ll be including some extra treats!
