There’s nothing quite like a fabulous delivery to blast away those January blues…cue this month’s Moi-Même Box! October’s box was definitely going to be hard to top, but we’re certainly in for another treat for January as this month’s much anticipated edition not only showcases a wealth of quality brands and new discoveries but they’ve also picked out some great seasonal must-haves to kick start the new year in the nicest possible way. Aptly themed around Winter Wellness and to help get us through the most depressing month of the year, the line up effortlessly does exactly that and focuses on both inner and outer beauty in addition to some gorgeous lifestyle items to keep us stylishly toasty in the cold, a personalised notebook and some indulgent chocolate. Once again, I’m absolutely smitten with this month’s offering and value-wise it totals up to a very respectable £101.50 so without further ado here’s my January unboxing:

Up first and a brand I absolutely fell in love with when I discovered them last year is Lola’s Apothecary who create the most beautiful handmade products chock full of natural active ingredients and potent botanical extracts for that all important me time. Their exquisite and unique packaging really embodies the beauty of nature meaning the products are also perfect for gifting to anyone who appreciates the craftsmanship that goes into every bottle – like me who’s a sucker for pretty things! Subscribers can expect to see either the Delicate Romance Balancing Bath & Shower Oil or the Restorative Winter Clarifying Bath & Shower Oil both of which retail for £34.00 so it’s a very generous addition. I received the Restorative Winter Clarifying Bath & Shower Oil (Full size 100ml) which is described as powerfully medicinal scent with Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Sweet Marjoram at its herbaceous core, uplifted by the freshness of Peppermint and Lemon. promises to rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit with an infusion of clarifying potent plant essences to ease winter colds & muscle fatigue. I’ve not tried this yet but if the scent is anything to go by then this will not fail to recharge you even on the most hectic of days or if you’ve been struck with a cold!

I’ll hold my hands up and admit I’m terrible at sticking to any sort of regular routine when it comes to supplements but I do love that Moi-Même have focused on inner beauty too this month as it’s just as important and I guess there’s no better time to start than the new year right? Potion London is new on my radar but they are a reputable brand who sit pretty on the shelves at Harvey Nichols and have a whole line of good for you vitamins that target quite a few areas from strengthening your bones to even boasting your collagen. Specially formulated and suitable for vegetarians, The Beauty Formula ((Full size – 60 tablets RRP £25.00)  contains the optimum balance of 19 vitamins and minerals – developed specifically to promote clear and healthy skin, strong nails and beautiful, lustrous hair.

Moving onto the lifestyle front and a firm favourite amongst the line up is the Pia Rossini Monroe Faux Fur Snood (RRP £30.00), a stylish and luxe must-have that will not fail to keep you warm throughout the winter months. I’ve got to admit I’ve looked at few similar snoods in the past at around the same price point but none have come close in terms of the amazing quality this one boasts. Aside from the luxe look and feel, I love that it’s lined with fleece plus it also sits really well and feels really snug and comfy too.

With a to-do list a mile long that never seems to get shorter, I’m forever adding and crossing things off my to do list so this personalised Monogram Notebook with my initial laser cut into the cover by Portico Design is such a lovely and welcomed addition – I mean who doesn’t love a bit of personalisation! Established over 25 years ago and based in Bath, Portico are independent publishers of quality design-led stationery, gifts, calendars & greeting cards that feature ‘world class’ licensed brands as well as our own ‘in-house’ originated designs.

Last and certainly not least to beat those January blues is the Coco Chocolatier Organic Chocolate Bar (RRP £4.50 80g). From the variations available I received Gin & Tonic, not my usual tipple but this Taste Award Star winner is described as a single origin dark chocolate with a truly unique flavour of aromatic Lemon & Lime oils to give it a subtle & refreshing taste.

My Verdict

Just when I thought Moi-Même Box had already impressed me enough with their previous editions, they go and exceed my expectations again! Centred around winter wellness, the all star line up couldn’t have been more perfect for this time of the year and it definitely felt like a gift from someone who knows me very well! Line up wise, I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like and the quality of the products as always is outstanding so you can be rest assured that not only are you receiving a host of loveable treats but you’re also getting value for money and an opportunity to discover both beauty and lifestyle brands that you may not have come across otherwise. This month’s stand out for me was the beautiful snood and I’ll certainly be rocking mine until the weather starts to warm up and I’m particularly excited to try out the bath and shower oil! The only downside I would say is that the box isn’t monthly (wouldn’t that be fabulous – not so fabulous for our bank balances though!) but other than that this box came packed with wonderful treats and seasonal finds to brighten up such a miserable month – another successful edition I’d say!

Moi-Même Box is a definitely a unique gem in the world of monthly beauty & lifestyle boxes and while the subscription box market is growing on a daily basis, their concept is unique and enticing and for me personally I love all the new finds and the high quality offerings from small batch companies and brands that are under the radar meaning they are very unlikely to show up in any of the other boxes. In terms of the cost, the quarterly subscription roughly amounts to the same if you’re already a monthly beauty box subscriber but the only downside is you’re parting with £49.95 in one go which may not be feasible for some but it’s worth trying at least once.
