Asiana Beauty Box Review – November 2016

Being the beauty box obsessive that I am I couldn’t resist purchasing the very first Asiana Beauty Box last month, I mean how could I deny myself this very generous haul for only £25.00! Aside from being retailed at a complete steal there was quite a few brands/products that sparked my interest so it was kind of no a brainer! While the box has been marketed for Asian skin tones the line-up does in fact feature a universal collective suitable for everyone. Showcasing a wealth of quality brands with a good balance of both full size and deluxe travel size samples all of which are enclosed inside its very own signature box it’s ideal for gifting too – although having said that there’s no way I’ll be parting with mine! Here’s a quick overview of what’s inside:

1.  Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Triple Action Cleanser  – Travel size 45ml

This three in one multi-action formula cleanses the skin, removes makeup and also has toning benefits and promises to melt away makeup and gently removing impurities. Formula-wise, it’s airy and light weight which is ideal for my oily skin and is great for fast, painless makeup removal especially after a late night out!

As well as the above you’ll also find a sample pot that can be taken to an Estee Lauder counter to be matched for their Double Wear Foundation.

2.  Origins Ginzing Energy-Boosting Moisturiser – Sample Size 15ml

This little orange tube kick starts your day with a shot of caffeine extract from coffee beans and Panax Ginseng to give your skin a boost of energy.

I’ve tried this moisturiser a few months ago so I’m happy to have another sample. The invigorating orange scent makes this a great choice for the mornings and while I didn’t notice any glow from my previous encounter, it did keep my skin hydrated throughout the day.

3.  Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer – Sample Size 21ml

The whole Photo Finish primer line from Smashbox is incredibly popular with bloggers and make up artists  so I was pretty excited to finally try it out for myself. With an incredibly silky feel to it, it does an amazing job of creating a smooth canvas for foundation to adhere to. In addition to giving your skin a flawless appearance, this also increases the wear time of your makeup and helps everything to stay put from day until night.

4. Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner Black Ink – Full Size RRP £19.00

I’ve got to admit it was the two Bobbi Brown additions inside this box that influenced my decision to purchase the box and I’m so glad I did as they’re definitely the stars amongst the line up and have very quickly become firm favourites of mine.

The Long Wear Gel Eyeliner comes with its very own brush and is described as a smudge-proof, budge-proof and creamy formula and it definitely fulfils all those claims. Black Ink is a rich, deep black with a matte finish and formula wise it glides on effortlessly and is insanely pigmented too! Practically indestructible, it lasted all day on me with very minimal smudging/smearing. If you’ve been struggling to achieve a smooth, mess-free cat eye then I definitely recommend giving Bobbi’s Black Ink Long Wear Gel Eyeliner a try.

5. Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips an Cheeks Powder Pink – Full Size RRP £20.00

Sleek, compact with a handy mirror inside, the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge is a great little multi tasker making it perfect for when you’re on the go.  On the lips the shade Powder Pink is a gorgeous warm pink and looks really natural and flattering on my complexion with a balm-like texture. I’m not a huge fan of cream blushers so I probably won’t get much use out of this on my cheeks but in comparison to others I tried this one doesn’t feel so tacky!

6. MAC False Lashes Mascara Extreme Black – Sample Size

The MAC False Lashes Mascara is something I already own so it’s always handy to have a miniature. For me personally this works best for lengthening and applies really smoothly without clumping even after a couple of coats. For those who have short lashes, the MAC False Lashes will definitely lend a helping hand if you’re more interested in lengthening rather than volume.

7. Clinique All About Shadow Duos Night Cap – Full Size RRP £22.50

Last but not least and a fab addition for the festive season is this gorgeous eyeshadow duo in the shade Nightcap from Clinique. The shadows apply like a dream and with a slight shimmer they look ever so flattering on their own and together.

My Verdict

When it comes to beauty boxes it’s quite novel to fall in love with every single item but I think Asiana completely nailed this edition, it’s like everything was tailored to my personal tastes!  The products inside are all incredibly wearable and usable, and the quality of everything is truly outstanding and boasts a wealth of quality brands on board. I’m also delighted to welcome the two make up items from Bobbi Brown to my stash as I’ve not tried much from the brand but this introduction has definitely encouraged me to try more from their collection. Value wise, I think this is a fantastic haul for only £25.00 and is packaged beautifully making it perfect for gifting too!
