In addition to all the beauty treats there’s the usual copy of Elle Magazine and all those important tips and tricks to get the most out of your products. I absolutely adore this edit and it’s another well rounded edition that covers all areas and showcases well known brands in addition to some new finds too.

The Look Fantastic box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skin care, hair care, cosmetics and body products, catering for every beauty lover.

This month’s box is filled with a generous mix of treats and showcases Illamasqua, Mellow Cosmetics, Philip Kingsley, Balance Me, Bubble T and Skin Republic.

1. Ilamasqua Hydra Veil Primer – Sample Size

It’s always exciting to find a sample of something you already love and use so I was delighted to see my beloved Illamasqua Hydra Veil Primer inside a cute little tub, perfect for topping up when on short breaks.

The Illamasqua Hydra Veil is a hybrid between a primer and a skin care product, and whilst there’s no long-term benefits on the skincare front it’s designed to provide a quick fix solution for dry areas on your face and is applied before foundation to smooth the skin and eradicate any dry areas.

Although I have oily skin, after applying my foundation the area around my chin sometimes looks a little dry despite moisturising and the Illamasqua Hydra Veil really nicely camouflages those areas. The product has a jelly like texture which glides on the skin, sinks in effortlessly and really does lend a helping hand in making your foundation sit and look better. I’ve not noticed that my makeup lasts any longer, but it certainly makes my skin look healthier and smoother. I think this is a great base for all skin types, but if you happen to have dry skin, you’ll love this

2. Mellow Cosmetics Madness Lipstick – Full Size RRP £10.22

Hailing all the way from New Zealand, Mellow Cosmetics is a new brand on my radar and their passion and vision is to bring high quality but guilt free makeup to every girl’s bag which also benefit from being Cruelty Free, Vegan and Paraben Free.

Described as a highly pigmented, richly formulated and long wearing matte lipstick they were spot on with this description and as for the shade well it’s the perfect party red without any orange tones which makes me want to do happy dance as it such a universally flattering hue that even suits us pale beauties. I love sporting red lips this time of the year and thankfully this matte formula doesn’t my leave my lips craving for moisture.

3. Philip Kingsley Elasticizer – Travel Size 30ml

I’ve seen the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer pop up in various subscription boxes over the years so I’m not excited at all to see it again as I’m still working my through the rest of my samples – I’ve only got another 5/6 to get through! Anyway, despite my disappointment this stuff really does work wonders for my hair so it’s not all bad!

The Philip Kingsley Elasticizer is an intensive, super-moisturising pre-shampoo treatment for all hair types” that promises to add “elasticity, manageability, bounce and shine”. For me personally it’s a great quick-fix when I need my hair to behave!

4. Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash– Travel Size 50ml

Balance Me promise natural but affordable skincare and don’t use any harmful ingredients in their products, and where possible are 100% naturally sourced.

The Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash is recommended for all skin types and formula wise it’s creamy and gentle enough for drier skins whilst at the same time the ingredients help to thoroughly cleanse the skin without stripping making it ideal for those with oil prone skin too.

The formula benefits from the most purest of ingredients to leave your skin happy, non irritated and contains a wonderful blend of skin calming essential oils that helps to balance troublesome skin, and I can definitely vouch for that having used this in the past. The formula leaves my skin feeling clean, removes make-up effortlessly and foams up really well using the tiniest amount.

5. Skin Republic Caviar and C0Q10 Face Mask– RRP £4.99

This hydrating sheet mask treatment provides deep level repair to help moisturise, protect and revitalise your skin and delivers nutrients such as Caviar with CoQ10 and Witch Hazel in addition to a blend of vitamins and Nucleic Acids to help speed up natural collagen production for plumper, firmer skin. It also helps fight free radical damage and slows down signs of ageing.

6. Bubble T Bath Bomb – RRP £3.00

Does this count towards one of your five a day? It should do as it’s packed with berries and antioxidants and the uplifting scent alone appears to be a good choice to recharge the batteries!

Infused with a wild strawberry fragrance, the bath bomb promises to calm your inner wild child and restore your day with help from sweet orange essential oils and super fruit extract, Goji Berry.

My Verdict

I thought the December Look Fantastic Box was perfectly curated to prepare me for upcoming festivities as well some pick me ups for the aftermath too and being a rose gold lover myself this month’s beautiful box design is definitely a keeper! In terms of the line up there’s quite a few winners inside this box and they’ve covered almost every beauty aisle from skin care, hair, make up and even a little bath treat, all of which are generous in size so you’ll definitely be able to give them a good trial run plus three out of the six treats are full size this month. In addition to the above, there’s also the usual copy of Elle Magazine, something I love seeing inside my box as it’s a great way to keep up to date with all the latest fashion and beauty trends (in my case it’s usually on my commute to work!). While there’s a few products I’ve already sampled via other boxes I’m delighted to have a travel sized version of my trusty Illamasqua Hydra Veil but my personal favourite amongst this month’s line up is the matte lipstick from Mellow Cosmetics. – thanks for the introduction Look Fantastic!

The Look Fantastic Beauty Box without a doubt gives you ample opportunity to try more upmarket beauty brands without the hefty price tag and for only £15.00 it’s a great way to trial beauty products from brands we all love and know alongside some new discoveries too.
