The December *Glossybox was bound to be a festive bundle of cheer and I wasn’t wrong as they’ve come up with a complete kit to make any beauty junkie’s face light up like a Christmas tree and I’m talking literally (in a subtle sort of way)! This month’s beautiful festive collector’s edition (there’s two different edits to chose from this month sugar or spice) ingeniously contains a collective of products that are all harmonious enough to be worn together to create your very own party look and dependant on what lipstick shade you chose I’m guessing those who went for Spice will receive a different line up. While I was secretly hoping I didn’t receive the nude lipstick I’m actually really pleased with it now I’ve had a chance to swatch it. This month’s edition is mainly dominated by make up (yay!) which pleases me immensely plus four out of the five products are full sized so it’s great value for money  and an edit that definitely ticks all the boxes on all fronts.

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 4-5 selected hair, make-up , body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands and includes a mixture of full sized and sample products.

1. MDMflow Semi-matte Lipstick in Bossy – Full Size RRP £18.00

To be honest, I thought this was just another nude shade that was going to look ghastly against my pale skin but I was so, so wrong! While I was secretly lusting after Spice, I’m actually really happy with this warm toned nude which surprisingly doesn’t look bad at all!

MDMflow is a brand I got introduced to earlier this year and their semi-matte lipsticks are the perfect in-between formula as they create the look of a matte lip but at the same time also keeps your lips hydrated thanks to the silky texture.

2. Essence Light up your Face Luminizer Palette –  Full Size RRP £3.00

Boasting a very purse-friendly price, this gorgeous highlighting trio enables you to emphasise your finest features and can be applied individually or in combination on the cheekbones, bridge of the nose or below the lips. With light-reflecting pigments, the palette contains a light pearl, an intensive shimmer and a golden glow finish.

While the highlighters aren’t the most pigmented, I’m still in love with this palette, it’s a great choice for days when you want to rock that classic no makeup makeup look as it leaves a beautiful soft finish.

3. Lipcote Browcote – Full size RRP £6.99

Just one of the many aspects I love about beauty subscription boxes is that they introduce me to products that I never knew existed in the first place, who knew that Lipcote had ventured out to brows? Well I certainly didn’t so it was a lovely surprise to see their Browcote amongst the line up this month.

Both transparent and transfer resistant, Browcote promises to tame eyebrows and set your eyebrow make up for hours with a unique, long-lasting formula that’s simply brushed over eyebrows and brow makeup for a lasting defined, smudge free and natural finish. I can’t wait to see how this measures up against my trusty Benefit Ready, Set, Brow!

4. Revlon Nail Enamel in Gray Suede  – Full Size RRP £6.49

My love for nail varnish knows no end and this creamy taupe with very subtle silver reflects by Revlon is definitely a shade I’ll get lots of wear out of plus it can be glammed up with a dash of glitter for any social events you have over the Christmas period. It also means I won’t have to change my colour of polish as often because this nude varnish will go with just about everything – winner!

5. Lavera Basis Sensitiv All-round Cream – Travel size

Last but not least, is a handy little staple for the winter months in the form of the Lavera Basis Sensitiv All-round Cream. Described as a rich cream with organic shea butter and organic almond, the formula promises to inject intensive moisture and protecting dry skin to leave it feeling soft and supple.

My Verdict

Dressed and wrapped just like a Christmas present with four full sized beauty treats in addition to a generous sized sample, Glossybox definitely saved the best until last and I have to say their December Collector’s edition ranked high in terms of my favourite Glossyboxes to date! Line up wise, there was more makeup items this month versus previous editions, which was a nice change, especially when you’re currently drowning in skin and hair care products! While I initially had my heart set on the other edit, I’m really pleased I received this one as it’s been executed really well, contains neutral and classic products to use at any time of year and the make up and nail varnish are all harmonious enough to be worn together to form your very own party look which is pretty genius! So far the lipstick and the Luminizer palette are my personal favourites and I can’t wait to try the remainder.
