A new month means it’s time to see what Love Me Beauty have featured for their last ever edit of the year and of course being the party season their Statement Edit contains pre-party skincare, make up and even some pampering additions for that all important recovery time – they’ve really got us covered!  I’m a little late to the party with this month’s post but here’s a round up of just some of the new additions which you can expect to see inside the December boutique. New subscribers can get 20% off their first box for using my exclusive reader code at the end of the post.

Each month the Love Me Beauty membership is worth 60 credits and you simply chose the items you want inside your box from a selection of products ranging from hair, body, nails, skincare and make-up with majority of the items being full sized or travel sized. You can now add on extra credit packages as well as the opportunity to treat yourself all month long!

December see’s new arrivals from Laura MercierCaudalie and Aromatherapy Associates as well as some products from previous months so whether you love make-up, skin and body products or a bit of everything there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

1. Laura Mercier – (Deluxe samples. 20 credits each)

Covering face, eyes and lips you can expect to see a number deluxe samples from Laura Mercier inside this month’s collective and here’s just a couple of the items:

Despite being a huge Laura Mercier fan and a mascara junkie I’ve not tried any of the Laura Mercier mascara’s! The Full Blown Volumising Supreme Mascara (Deluxe sample 5.7g) claims to thicken, curl, lengthen and define lashes and I can safely say, it’s lives up to those claims. I love the shape of the wand, It’s a traditional brush which I prefer and the formula layers up pretty well too without clumping.

I can’t even begin to tell you how many of the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer’s (Deluxe same 14.7ml) I own, it’s a hell of a lot as they’ve done the rounds quite a few times from box to box! Luckily as well as my beloved Illamasqua Hydraveil primer this one also ranks quite high in my book! This soothing, lightweight, water based gel is oil free and creates the perfect canvas for makeup application, especially for those with sensitive and oily skin and also keeps my foundation intact and flawless all day.

2. Caudalie ( Sample size. 15 Credits each)

Caudalie is actually one of my favourite skin care brands, so I was thrilled to receive a long standing favourite in a travel friendly size as well as some new discoveries.

3. Aromatherapy Associates  – (10/20 credits)

What better way to enhance those winter nights than with a body care line that pampers & conditions your skin with a heavenly aroma that transports you to a spa. Say hello to Aromatherapy Associates, a brand that focuses on mindful beauty by giving you time to stop and find balance in your life by taking you on a sensory journey to enhance your wellbeing through Aromatherapy.

I don’t know about you but I’m still feeling the wrath of Christmas so the Deep Relax & Revive Shower Oil Duo (5ml x 2) are definitely welcome additions and I love that Love Me Beauty have included a potion to wake you up and put you to sleep too – the perfect partners! The Deep Relax Shower Oil contains deeply relaxing powers of Vetivert, Camomile and Sandalwood for a tranquil and relaxing night’s sleep while the Revive Shower Oil gives you the perfect start to the day with invigorating powers of Grapefruit, Rosemary and Juniper essential oils help to shrug off any sluggishness before showering and prepares you for that long day ahead!

Up next is the De-Stress Muscle Gel (Travel Size 40ml), Aromatherapy Associate’s best selling body gel that promises to treat aching muscles by using the powers of Rosemary, Black Pepper, Lavender and Ginger essential oils. The gel instantly cools aches and pains, then warms muscles over time leaving them feeling soothed.

My Verdict

While this month’s edit didn’t really excite me as much in comparison to previous shortlists, I do love the brands they’ve  partnered with for their Statement Edit plus I finally got to try out a mascara from Laura Mercier.  In terms of the products I think the December boutique does exactly what it intends to do, and that’s to provide a variety of make up and skin care samples geared towards the party season as well as some pampering treats for that all important down-time thanks to Aromatherapy Associates. There’s no full sized products this month but all the samples are generous in size and adequate enough for you to judge whether you like them or not so it’s a great way to try out a brand/product you’ve been curious about without having to splurge on full sized products. The only thing I would I say is some of the brands/products are repeated quite frequently so I’d love for these to be swapped out for something new however having said that January’s edit is again repeats from previous months which is great for new subscribers but such a let down for those who have been loyal subscribers.

If you’re not a fan of surprises when it comes to beauty boxes then Love Me Beauty is the perfect choice and destination for those who want more of a personalised subscription service and they also offer flexibility all month long meaning there’s an opportunity to extend your credits with their value add-on packages as and when you want!
