Beauty Pick of the Month – December 2016

While beauty boxes can sometimes be hit and miss, occasionally you’ll come across that one hidden gem whether it be a brand or product that very quickly becomes part of your daily routine and this is exactly what happened when I first discovered Bloomtown Botanicals, a sure stand-out in the natural and green beauty world that I discovered all thanks to Little Bit Lavish and Dollibox last year. Between their modern yet fuss-free packaging, signature scents, and their clean, non-toxic formulations, they’ve earned a top spot in my ‘beauty brands to explore more of’ in 2017!  I somehow completely forgot to share this post for November so I’ve featured the brand for my December Beauty Pick of the Month instead.

For their love of botanicals, aromatherapy and animals, cruelty-free brand Bloomtown Botanicals was born and founded by husband and wife Preyanka Clark Prakash and Medwin Culmer who have come up with an entire line of bath and body hand crafted luxuries inspired by the woods, gardens, groves, and the other charming nooks of our ideal green community, where every ingredient is nourishing and sustainable. Their products are packaged within eco-friendly recycled/recyclable containers and also boast from being 100% free from palm oil, palm-derived ingredients, sulfates, SLS, parabens, phthalates, synthetic colours, detergents, wheat and animal products (except beeswax). In addition to the above they also donate a percentage of their profits to environmental and animal rescue charities.

Since discovering Bloomtown Botanicals mainly their infused oil and their bath salts via beauty boxes, I’ve gone on to purchase quite a few more products such as their shower gels (okay I may have purchased a candle recently too!) and here’s my thoughts so far:

Up first and what picqued my interest in the brand in the first place was their Roll-on infused oil (RRP £4.80) which comes in a handy rollerball and works incredibly well for dry patches and even split ends according to Bloomtown Botanticals but I’ve been mainly using these as perfumes as they are great for every day and smell so divine, my favourite is Hedgerow which really is summer bottled up thanks to the succulent Blackberry & Honeysuckle notes!

Falling in love with the Hedgerow scent was the ultimate enabler for my little splurge and I decided to purchase three of their Organic Hand & Body Washes (RRP £12.00) and a candle! Free from palm oil, SLSs, parabens and synthetic detergent, it gently cleanses and hydrates the skin thanks to the nourishing coconut and olive oils. Housed in glass bottles with a pump dispenser, their hand and body washes really capture each scent beautifully and I love that they’ve got a variation of scents on offer meaning there’s literally something to match every mood and occasion. Due to their natural formulation and the absence of nasty chemicals they don’t foam up as much but they do leave your skin feeling clean and soft – plus my bathroom always smells so lovely after! In terms of the candle I’ve not burnt this yet but I of course opted for Hedgerow!

If you haven’t tried anything from Bloomtown Botanicals then I highly recommend checking them out via (Don’t forget to sign up to their newsletter to get 15% off your first purchase! )

  • I absolutely adore Bloomtown Botanicals. The Rose Garden is my favourite scent and I love their scrubs too. Heck, I love all their products that I have tried so far. 😀

    • It’s hard not to be fan, they have a gorgeous selection. I’ve not tried their scrubs but think that will be next on my list 🙂 Have you tried their masks – I know you love a good mask!

      • Yeah, their scrubs are really lovely. I’ve tried their Blue Clay & Indigo Leaf Soothing Mask, which is really nice. I have pretty dry and sensitive skin and it worked really well. Left it clean, soft and nicely hydrated. I sometimes find that clay masks can leave that tight, dry feeling after use but this one didn’t at all. 🙂

        • Sounds lovely. I’ll have to see if they have something for oily skin 🙂

          • Oh yes, they do have one specifically for oily and acne prone skin, their Black Clay & Tea Tree Treatment Mask 😀

          • Yay! Another product to add to the list 🙂

          • hehe Oh for sure! 😀
