With New Year’s celebrations very soon upon us, the December Little-Known Box is the perfect curation and contains a host of make-up (yay!) and skin care to keep us glowing from midnight and beyond all of which come from popular brands and those that are a little under the radar too making the unboxing experience that little more exciting and fun. Value wise, this month’s line up is solid and features mainly full size treats totalling up to an incredible £72.98!
Little-Known Box promises to ship 5-6 products to you per month, to discover, try and enjoy at home. In addition to monthly subscriptions they also offer gift subscriptions and one-off boxes, providing a truly flexible beauty subscription experience! Featured brands are carefully selected and include full and sample size luxury products from skincare, makeup, hair, body and grooming products to nail care, nail art, lifestyle and beauty accessories (with the occasional surprise thrown in!). You might see some well known brands featured, but they will be little-known products or new launches!
Without further ado here’s what they featured inside their December edition:
If there’s any excuse to wear sparkle and shimmer, it’s New Year’s Eve so with this in mind say hello to the GlitterEyes Eyeshadow Duo (RRP £9.99), a bronze eyeshadow with accompanying gold pressed glitter that effortlessly pair together so well. I’ve not had a chance to play with these as of yet but the swatches look absolutely stunning.
To complement the palette above, Little-Known Box for the very time have featured a make up brush and this debut comes from PHB Ethical Beauty, a brand that’s all about clean and green beauty and boast being vegan too. The Angled Eyeshadow Brush (RRP £7.95) helps to blend colour to the lids, highlight under the brow area and the bristles are super soft and does a decent job of blending out any harsh edges or adding a soft wash of colour to your eye look.
Up next and a firm favourite of mine from the line up is the BeautyUK Shimmer Block (RRP £4.99), a square pan that contains five coordinating strips of subtle shimmery powder – it’s so, so pretty! Described as a highly versatile blusher and bronzer, you only need to brush the surface slightly to get a healthy dose of colour on the cheeks and I love that the shimmer is quite soft. Overall I think this is a fantastic palette especially when you take into account it’s budget friendly price tag.
On the skin care front and a very generous addition that retails for a whopping £50.00 is the Hydrating Repair Oil from Mahogany Naturals (Full size 30ml), an award winning spa quality and natural bath, body and skincare line created by a multi award winning curly hair stylist Tope Beesley in 2012. Packed full of antioxidants and rejuvenators to plump, repair, hydrate and soften the skin, it contains a host of skin loving ingredients such as camomile, tea tree and evening primrose oil to name a few.
Last but not least is the New Leaf Deep Pore Exfoliator by Amie Skincare (Sample Size 25ml). This deep cleansing treatment containing natural rice granules that work deep-down into pores to lift away dirt, oil and impurities, revealing clearer, smoother skin and the mango and orange blossom extracts help tone and refresh oily and combination skin.
My Verdict
And that rounds up my December Little-Known Box! Focusing on mainly make up in addition to a couple of skin care treats, this month’s line up was a pretty solid one and four out of the five products were full sized which is pretty amazing for their year-end edition plus I think you’ll agree the Hydrating Repair Oil from Mahogany Naturals is such a generous addition. I’m pretty thrilled with everything inside this edit but my ultimate favourite is the BeautyUK Shimmer Block, not only does it look the part but all the colours complement each other so well to fake that sun kissed glow. All in all, they definitely ended the year on a good note and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in the new year.
