Now when I first saw a preview of Look Fantastic’s Runaway Ready theme, the first thing that sprung to mind was make up and lots of it, maybe a hair care product too just to mix things up! Unfortunately this wasn’t the case at all which is fine as it’s probably easier to please the masses this way with a more varied line up! Ultimately themed around Fashion Week and Valentine’s Day, their February edition arrives just in time for whatever the month throws at you and covers skin care in addition to make up, vitamins, a stress buster and the latest edition of Elle Magazine. So despite my predictions being completely wrong I actually really love what they’ve put together and excitingly every single item is new on my radar plus the contents total up to an incredible £70.04.

The Look Fantastic box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skin care, hair care, cosmetics and body products, catering for every beauty lover.

This month’s box is filled with a generous mix of treats and showcases products from The Ordinary, This Works, Borghese, Polaar, Model Co and MyVitamins.

1. The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factor + HA– Full Size 30ml RRP £4.90

While I love that Look Fantastic do feature some high end brands now again it’s also nice to receive products that we don’t have to think twice about when it comes to repurchasing! This budget friendly addition in the form of The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factor + HA is a brand owned by Deciem and comes in a generous full size version.

The formula offers non-greasy hydration that acts as a direct topical supplement of impaired NMF components. It contains 11 amino acids, phospholipids, alpha/beta/gamma fatty acids, triglycerides, sterols and sterol esters, glycerin, ceramide precursors, urea, saccharides, sodium PCA and hyaluronic acid. It offers immediate hydration and lasting results with continued use. I do love my Clinique Moisture Surge so I’m hoping this kind of does the same thing as it’s much cheaper and appears to have more benefits too!

2. Borghese Fango Mud Mask– Sample size. Full Size 222ml RRP £22.55

Up next on the skin care front is another completely new discovery and it’s a sample pod of the Borghese Fango Brightening Mud Mask (did anyone else think this was a coffee pod too when they first saw it!).  When it comes to my oily skin, I usually go for clay based masks as they do a great job drawing out impurities. Promising to restore lost radiance, minimise the appearance of pores and even out skin tone, this illuminating mud mask is infused with a cocktail of natural vitamins and mineral-rich ingredients, including Citrus Unshiu Peel extract and Sweet Almond and Avocado Oils. It’s also suitable for all over the body due to its exfoliating properties however I’ll doubt this one-use sample will stretch that far!

3. This Works Deep Sleep Stress Less– Sample size. Full size 10ml RRP £12.00

Fortunately when it comes to dozing off I fall asleep pretty easily but occasionally if I’ve got something on my mind then I do turn to these types of products mainly to create a peaceful ambience and the Deep Sleep Stress Less by This Works helps to exactly that and is described as a natural roll-on rescue remedy to aid calm days and restful nights with a blend of eucalyptus, frankincense and lavender oil. You simply massage this fragrant oil onto your pulse points to soothe the mind and body which in turn helps you to refresh, de-stress and relax into sleep.

4. Polaar Icy Magic Roll On– Full Size 10ml RRP £25.74

This product from Polaar may just look like another eye product but it’s so much more than that and I can guarantee you’ll love it just as much as I do plus it’s worth an incredible £25.74! As well as doing all the standard stuff such as de-puffing, hydrating the skin under your eyes and reducing the appearance of dark circles it also claims to stimulate lash growth which is quite handy especially if you’re currently using separate products. This instant reviver feels ever so cooling on contact thanks to the roll-on tip and the formula itself is lightweight, sinks into the skin effortlessly and feels so, so good! Bye, Bye current eye cream and hello Polaar Icy Magic!

5. Model Co Eye Lites Metallic Shadow – Full Size. RRP £15.00

On the make up front we have a Metallic Eyeshadow from ModelCo, a stunning gold hue with sparkling shine that you’ll be able to incorporate into a multitude of looks. The pigmentation is very good and it does stay wet for a minute or so, but then dries down to a pretty budge-proof finish. You can also use this over any eyeshadow for a iridescent diamond effort.

6. MyVitamins Catwalk Queen – Full Size 30 capsules. Worth £6.49

Focusing on inner beauty you can also expect to see the Catwalk Queen supplements by MyVitamins. Containing a host ingredients, the capsules provides the body with fundamental nutrients to benefit the health of hair, skin and nails, to make you feel catwalk ready.

My Verdict

Dressed to impress with its plum exterior, the February Look Fantastic Beauty Box actually turned out to be quite an interesting curation even though I was hoping for lots of make up (a girl can dream)! In terms of the theme I think their runway ready edit was a successful interpretation especially with the skin care additions as the winter months definitely rob us of that healthy glow but most of all I loved that they featured a host of new discoveries something that’s really been lacking so I hope we see more edits like this. Line up wise they’ve focused on both inner and outer beauty and you can expect to see a mixture of both full size and sample sized products. If you’ve not guessed already my favourite product so far is the Polaar Icy Roll-on, I’m looking forward to seeing whether this fulfils its claims on the lash growth and the moisturiser looks pretty promising too! All in all, I’d say there was quite a few winners inside this month’s box and if you’re curious about any of the brands/products featured then it’s definitely a box you’ll want to get your hands on plus the value is pretty awesome this month too!

The Look Fantastic Beauty Box is the perfect destination to try a range of beauty brands without the hefty price tag and for with subscriptions starting from £13.00 it’s a great way to trial beauty products from brands we all love and know alongside some new discoveries too.
