With Valentine’s Day very soon upon us, this month’s *Glossybox as expected arrives dressed for the occasion and will not fail to turn your eyes into hearts with its oh so pretty box design. We all have mixed feelings about this date so whether you celebrate it or not, it’s as good a reason as any to show yourself some love and appreciation and what better way than some new beauty products and much-deserved pampering…cue the February Glossybox Edition which has you covered regardless and features a host of products to help you look and smell pretty. Value-wise this month’s line up consists of mainly full size treats and totals up to an incredible £62.25.

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 4-5 selected hair, make-up, body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands and includes a mixture of full-sized and sample products.

1. La Theorie Des Volcans Noir Eternae Youth Potion Face Scrub – Full Size 30ml RRP £26.00

This floral scented 2-in-1 face scrub and mask is both vegan and cruelty free, and is made with 90.6% ingredients of natural origin.  Harnessing the properties of volcanic sand (a wonder ingredient for its ability to actively exfoliate and draw out impurities), this gentle mask cleanses and purifies your complexion to leave it plump, smooth and glowing. Formula-wise, the texture is somewhat thin, with scattered granules here and there to aid gentle exfoliation so the 30ml tube which is surprisingly full-size should last a while!

2. Jeanne Arthes L’Eau de Rose fragrance– Full Size RRP £20.00

A Valentine’s Day themed box isn’t complete without a romantic perfume! The Jeanne Arthes’ L’Eau De Rose which comes in a very generous full size is described as delicate and sensual and combines a classic scent with dreamy crisp notes. I’m not a fan of traditional rose scented pefumes but this really surprised me and is a firm favourite of mine amongst the contents. With a modern twist, this light, and refreshing rose isnt overpowering or powdery making it a great choice for the spring and summer months.

3. Ciate London Paint Pot in Iced Frappe – Full size RRP £9.00

I love receiving nail polishes inside my boxes and I don’t think I’ve seen one featured inside my Glossybox for quite some time so this full size one from Ciate is a very welcomed addition. Iced Frappe is an ever so flattering mauve/nude shade which will without a doubt look fab on all skin tones and is something you’ll be able to pull off all year round.

4. Garnier Blends Honey Treasures Strength Restorer Balm – Sample size

On the hair care front and the sample I’m probably least excited about is the Garnier Blends Honey Treasures Strength Restorer Balm, a powerful blend enriched with Honey, Royal Jelly and Propolis which promises to leave fragile, damaged hair feeling healthier and more resilient from the first wash.

5. MeMeMe Beat the Blues skin illuminator – Full size RRP £7.25

This illuminator in the shade Oyster Gold is one of MeMeMe Cosmetics best sellers and is ideal for creating a youthful dewy finish. To obtain the best finish, I found this blended out better with my finger rather than a brush. You can get a natural sheen of colour providing you don’t go overboard with the application as it can look very shimmery!

My Verdict

After feeling a little disappointed with last month’s box, I’m certainly feeling the love when it comes to the February Glossybox – the design is so pretty and one you’ll definitely want to keep hold of however this of course would all be irrelevant if it didn’t arrive with lovely contents to match! As expected, this month’s edition was all about putting our best self forward and showcased a well-rounded selection from skin and hair care, make up, nails and even a full size perfume which you don’t see often inside boxes! While the box is ultimately themed around Valentine’s Day, I think regardless of whether you’re celebrating or not the line up is a good all-rounder and has something for everyone to enjoy for any day of the year! I’m pleased to also report that every single item amongst the line up was new on my radar from both well-known brands in addition to those I’ve not come across before so that was a lovely extra bonus. Overall I’ve really enjoyed this edition as it contained products that I’ll be able to make use out of and I don’t think there’s anything I didn’t like apart from the Garnier Blends sample but other than that, Glossybox actually nailed it this month in terms of my likes plus the majority of the products are full size and totals up to a very respectable £62.25.
