Trust Birchbox to brighten up a very cold February with a beautiful tropical designed box in collaboration with British Stationery brand Papier  – it’s just so gorgeous and makes me crave summer so much! Much like a small child, I’m almost more distracted by the pretty box than I am with what’s inside it however I shouldn’t shortchange the samples as excitingly a couple of the items I was lusting after have made their way inside my box which hasn’t happened in quite some time! With a little customissation available, two guaranteed make up treats and a Korean Beauty product I think it’s a pretty amazing month to be a Birchbox subscriber!

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 5 luxe beauty treats from well-known brands and emerging brands and occasionally you may also receive a lifestyle item too. Birchbox is also a full-blown beauty destination where you can purchase all the brands which have been featured in their boxes with an exceptional and very generous reward program.

1. Show Beauty Premiere Dry Shampoo – Travel size 50ml RRP £16.00

Dry Shampoo is definitely a necessity for me, it provides that little more oomph to my hair in between washes in addition to soaking up oily roots. I usually use either Colab or the Immaculate Spray by Bardou because they’re not too expensive and do a fabulous job, but I’ve been really curious about trying this high end one by Show Beauty so I’m delighted it’s made its way inside my box this month! As with all Show Beauty’s product line, it’s certainly a fancy product and it feels expensive, but I’m not sure I could justify paying a premium price for a spray that I will use up pretty quickly. I’m really looking forward to putting this to the test!

2. Beaver Professional Daily Moisture Conditioning Spray – Travel size 50ml. Full Size RRP £11.50

Another product on the hair care front is the Beaver Professional Daily Moisture Conditioning Spray. The light formula promises to do a number of tasks such as detangle, impart shine and luster to hair without weighing it down, help to reduce frizz and flyaways for improved manageability. It also contains an organic herbal blend which is nutrient-rich and softening as well as amino acids to penetrate the hair to moisturise from within and add shine and body.

3. Keeome Hydration Mask Therapy – Worth £4.83. Set of 6 RRP £29.00

The easiest way to experience the wonders of Korean pampering rituals is to use a sheet mask and I’ll think you’ll agree it’s so lovely to see them popping up inside our boxes every now and again!

Infused with Mulberries from the white mulberry tree, this key ingredient is known for its healing properties and is packed with vitamins A and E to soothe and treat tired or dull skin. You simply smooth the mask out and leave for 25 minutes while the serum sinks in and then rinse your face clean with warm water.

4. POP Beauty Eyeshadow Trio – Sample trio. Full size Palette RRP £15.50

As much as I love the look of colourful pops of eyeshadows, I’m more of a neutral girl and this little mini palette by POP Beauty is perfect for every day.

The Champagne Mocha palette consists of light and medium warm neutral shades. I was quite impressed with these eyeshadows, they’re easy to blend with very little fallout and fairly pigmented too. It’s compact size is really handy for traveling too.

5. Spectrum Collections Marbleous Eye Brush – RRP £5.99

My first ever encounter with Spectrum Collections was all thanks to last February’s Birchbox and to no surprise when you’re a sucker for pretty looking things you of course can’t help but buy the complete set! When it comes to good quality and cruelty-free make up brushes I don’t use anything other than my Glam Clam now so their Eye Brush from their Marbles collection was another lovely addition amongst the line up and all subscribers can expect to see this inside their box this month.

My Verdict

Birchbox definitely win hands down when it comes to designing pretty boxes and their collaboration with Papier was no exception, I think I would have been equally happy with the other design too! Line up wise this month’s selection was nicely varied with generous sized products and featured skincare, makeup, hair products and a gorgeous eye brush from Spectrum Collections however I am a little sad that they decided to feature two hair items this month’s but that’s just me being super picky. Having said that though all the products inside are definitely things that I will use and I’m particularly excited to try out the Show Beauty Dry Shampoo as I’ve been curious about this for quite some time although a part of me is hoping that I don’t love it as it’s a little on the pricey side for something that’s not even going to last me that long! All in all I’d say that this was another solid box from Birchbox and the perfect way to try a range of new beauty discoveries without totally breaking the bank.

March Sneak Peek: There’s a brand new make-up treat from Benefit in every box! Keep an eye on your inbox to pick your shade!
