In honour of International Women’s Day, Look Fantastic for their March edition have joined forces with Elle Magazine to bring us a collection of six beauty treats to show off and grow our inner girl power! From the outset when they first unveiled the first of the spoilers I was really excited by this collaboration and the theme which in turn set off those high expectations for me even more so as it’s the first time we’ve seen Look Fantastic do a collaboration box but if I’m honest I wasn’t overly excited by it and was hoping to see more of balanced line up. Nonetheless there’s a couple of products that have pique my interest, a couple of new brand discoveries plus a new launch from Caudalie so it’s not all bad, I’m just not a fan of so much skin care! In addition to the beauty treats you can also expect to see latest edition of Elle Magazine and value wise this month’s contents are worth around £70.00.

The Look Fantastic box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skin care, hair care, cosmetics and body products, catering for every beauty lover.

This month’s box is filled with a generous mix of both full size and generous sized samples and showcases products from . PÜR Minerals, SkinChemists, Caudalie, St Tropez, Starskin and Redken.

1. PÜR Minerals Disappearing Act Concealer – Travel size.

Up first and the item I was most excited to receive was the Disappearing Act Concealer by PUR Minerals, a brand I’ve not seen pop up inside Beauty boxes before but that excitement very quickly ended up being a disappointment as the shade ‘Light’ was far too beige for my pale skin so I’m a little baffled as to why Look Fantastic decided to feature this as it’s a little risky considering we all have different skin tones!

This 4-in-1 concealer with built-in skincare ingredients promises to put an end to unsightly eye lines, dark circles and blemishes for good with salicylic acid, brightening Waltheria extract and Pür’s problem-solving ceretin complex, featuring Pürified, non-irritating retinol and moisture-maximizing ceramides. The formula is really promising, it’s creamy, goes on smooth and also provides good coverage but it’s a shame that they don’t have any other lighter alternatives as I would have definitely purchased this concealer.

2. SkinChemists 24H Aqua Repair Facial SerumTravel size 30ml

I know I was a little disappointed to see such a skin care heavy box but this 24H Aqua Repair Facial Serum by SkinChemists is such a welcomed find even more so as it targets quite a few of my skin care concerns and not only promises to inject a shot of moisture to the skin but thanks to the rose water and aloe vera it also calms, heals and soothes.

3. Caudalie Vine active 3 in 1 Moisturiser – Sample size 15ml

I love Caudalie and already use a couple of their products so it was nice to see something from their new Vine Activ collection which has been especially created for those busy ladies/gents who are juggling a work-life balance, fitting in a career, social life, staying fit  and constantly living a city life in fast-forward. This light yet moisturising cream is described as the essential daily ally for urban skin. It has been formulated to limit the quantity of pollutant particles deposited on the skin, visibly smooths wrinkles and restores its natural healthy glow with a velvety texture that’s light and suitable for all skin types.

4. St Tropez. Instant Gloss – Travel size 30ml

I always get sucked into hyped up products only to be disappointed later so I’m delighted that Look Fantastic included this fairly new launch from St. Tropez as its got glowing reviews and is something I’ve been wanting to try.

With an instant high shine effect with a touch of bronze, this lightweight gloss can be used to enhance an existing tan or on its own for an instant boost. You can also layer it on to achieve your desired sheen.

5. Redken Heatcure Treatment – x1 Sachet

The Redken Heatcure At-Home Self-Heating Mask is a weekly fortifying mask that delivers deep conditioning to restore hair’s healthy look and feel and is for use in between Heatcure in-salon service or as a stand-alone mask. After just one application, the intense at-home self-heating mask claims to restore appearance of shine, conditioning and softness, and has 99% consumer satisfaction!

6. Starskin Eye Catcher – x1 Pack RRP £8.50

Late nights and staring at a computer screen for 8+ hours a day is not forgiving on my eyes so the Starskin Eye Catcher is certainly a welcomed addition. Described as a smoothing Bio-Cellulose eye mask that delivers a powerful serum complex to leave eyes look instantly brighter, radiant and rejuvenated. The Bio-Cellulose mask has been specially created for the delicate eye contours and is formulated with naturally fermented, vitamin-rich coconut juice. This ultra-hydrating, smoothing eye mask saturates the skin with an incredible 12 ml of serum containing wrinkle-smoothing Adenosine, brightening licorice root extract and soothing Allantoin.

My Verdict

While the March box on first glance looked a little underwhelming, it actually turned out to be the complete opposite once I delved further into the contents but having said that I think this edit would have been more popular with me if the line up was balanced out. Nonetheless I’m really excited about trying out the SkinChemist serum and the Caudalie Vine Activ 3 in 1 Moisturiser both of which appear to be great choices for the warm weather ahead of us plus I’ve been curious about the St Tropez Gloss so I’m delighted this sample made its way inside this month’s box. The item I was most excited about was the concealer, I liked the formula and the smooth application but unfortunately the shade wasn’t the perfect near match for me so it’s a shame Look Fantastic didn’t opt for something more universal. All in all, I’d say there was quite a few winners inside this month’s box and if you’re curious about any of the brands/products featured then it’s definitely a box you’ll want to get your hands on plus the value is pretty awesome this month too!

The Look Fantastic Beauty Box is the perfect destination to try a range of beauty brands without the hefty price tag and for with subscriptions starting from £13.00 it’s such a guilt-free option to trial beauty products from brands we all love and know alongside some new discoveries too.
