I’m a little late to the party with this month’s review as for some reason my boxes keep turning up later than usual! For March, Birchbox have gone back to basics and their SignedSealed, Delivered theme is all about looking back at their journey from the very beginning and to celebrate a huge milestone as they’ve reached 100,000 subscribers which is so incredible and very well deserved. For those who have followed Birchbox’s journey from the very start will remember the iconic brown box and this month it’s made a comeback and has certainly got me reminiscing when I first pressed that subscribe button in 2013 – it was one of the first beauty boxes I ever subscribed to! So with this in mind and for being a part of their awesome journey, not only will you receive a new launch from Benefit but there’s also to a 20% off discount code for all subscribers to use in the shop. Line-up wise, I’m absolutely in love with my contents this month, it features some great staples for everyday and also covers almost every area of beauty from skin and body care, hair and make-up.

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 5 luxe beauty treats from well-known brands and emerging brands and occasionally you may also receive a lifestyle item too. Birchbox is also a full-blown beauty destination where you can purchase all the brands which have been featured in their boxes with an exceptional and very generous reward program.

1. Benefit They’re Real Double the Lip – Travel Size. Full size RRP £16.50

For March all subscribers will receive is a brand new shiny launch from Benefit in the form of their They’re Real Doulbe the Lip, an innovative teardrop shaped lipstick that geniously also incorporates a liner and promises to give you fuller looking lips in one easy stroke. I’ve got to admit it did take me a couple of attempts of get use to this due to the shape but I do love the precision and the two shades together really do complement one another so well. There are two shades variations available so you will either receive Pink Thrills or Lusty Rose, I received Pink Thrills which looks a little on the coral side on my lips but it’s a lovely pop of colour for the warmer weather ahead.

2. Balance Me Instant Lift Primer – Sample Size 5ml. Full size RRP £22.00

On the skincare front we have a sample of the Instant Lift Primer by Balance Me, a complexion perfecting skin smoother that’s 99% natural and instantly lifts and refines the skin so it looks more youthful and virtually pore less. I’m really intrigued around the pore less claims and typically I have no spots to try this out on at the moment so I’ll have this at the ready to trial as soon as a breakout occurs!

3. Korres Santorini Vine Shower Gel – Travel size 40ml. Full size RRP £8.00

I love receiving shower gels inside my beauty boxes as they’re a practical and everyday essential that almost everyone will be able to make use out of. I’ve tried quite a few products from Korres and one thing for sure their shower gels and body lotions smell absolutely amazing and their Santorini Vine Shower Gel is no exception.

This supposedly mimics the scent of the blossoming greek vineyards in Santorini however having never been to Santorini, I can’t confirm this but the fruity scent certainly reminds me of summer and holidays. The gel itself is a lovely consistency and you only need to use a small amount and it also doesn’t leave your skin craving for moisture thanks to the wheat proteins and Althea extract which help to maintain  the skin’s natural moisture levels.

4. Batiste 2 in 1 Invisible Dry Shampoo & Conditioner – Travel size 50ml. Full size RRP £4.49

Dry Shampoo is definitely a necessity for me, it provides that little more oomph to my hair in between washes in addition to soaking up oily roots so although I received a dry shampoo last month I’m actually pleased to see another one inside my box! Batiste is a true classic and a favourite amongst many when it comes to Dry Shampoo however this version also conditions your hair without leaving it greasy and comes in a handy size to slip into the handbag or hand luggage for a quick refresh when you’re on the go.

5. Bobbi Brown Multi Mask Kit – x3 3ml samples. Full size RRP £33.00 each

When it comes to skin care not everything is suitable for my oily skin so this little sample kit is a very welcomed addition as it includes a selection for all skin concerns/types or alternatively you can use them all to target certain areas of your face. The pack includes a 3ml sample of Bobbi Brown’s Instant Detox Mask, Radiance Boost Mask and the Skin Nourish Mask. I’ve not tried much from Bobbi Brown’s skin care collection so I can’t wait to put these to the test when I have my next pampering session.

My Verdict

Basic beauty products are good, but boosted basics are even better and Birchbox for their March edition have included a great selection of everyday essentials which in turn can be effortlessly incorporated into our daily beauty regimes and all of the products featured were things I would actually use which is a bonus! In terms of their signed, sealed and delivered theme, I love the idea behind this month’s box and the return of the iconic brown box certainly had me reminiscing as my decision to push that subscribe button in 2013 was probably one of the best things that I did for myself, especially since it also was a huge influence in my decision to start blogging in the first place and expanding my beauty brain! Overall this was a nice box all round with key essentials to elevate anyone’s beauty routine – job well done Birchbox!
