My second box from *My Little Box has arrived and while February’s line up didn’t particularly leave a long lasting impression they’ve definitely raised the bar high for their March ‘No Filter’ edition and I don’t know if it was intentional (of course it was as their attention to detail is always so spot on!) but everything’s colour coordinated and they’ve stuck to the theme throughout too – the little details really do go a long way when it comes to an unboxing for me! As well as being welcomed to such a pretty sight in the form of a cosmetic bag as opposed to a box this month, the beauty and lifestyle contents they’ve picked out are just as loveable and takes me back to the beginning when I first fell in love with My Little Box plus it contains some of my favourite areas of beauty – make up and nail varnish!

My Little Box is a hand-picked and beautifully designed box of beauty, fashion and lifestyle surprises. With fashion accessories, beauty products and other goodies created exclusively for you and based around a different theme every month, each box promises to delight their subscribers. They also produce their very own in-house beauty products known as My Little Beauty.

Here’s what they featured inside their March edition:

1. The Beauty Products – 4 Items

Each month My Little Box include 3-4 beauty products from both well-known and emerging brands, all of which are either are generous full sizes or samples:

Up first is the Laura Mercier Blemish-Less Foundation Primer (Travel size) and although I’ve received several of these via other beauty boxes I don’t actually own this one so that’s a bonus plus this seems to be more suited for my oily skin! This oil-free formula balances the benefits of their usual primers but also focuses on the needs of skin that’s prone to blemishes and breakouts. As well as creating a smooth even surface for flawless makeup application it helps also helps to improve the appearance of blemishes, controls shine and minimises the look of pores. The water-based gel is described as lightweight, soothing and includes Salicylic Acid and other blemish-minimizing ingredients for a significant improvement in blemishes after 4 weeks of use.

While we’re on the subject of flawless skin I also received the Make Up Forever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder (Travel size 1g), a powder that’s been created for the very latest high-definition technologies of the film and TV industry and their ultra HD advanced formula promises to look invisible on even 4K cameras and to the naked eye. The powder gives a light matte effect and a smooth luminous finish and contain spherical micro particles of silica to instantly give skin a naturally glowing complexion with an incredible velvety effect and an unrevealed touch.

Up next and a handy addition for the loose powder above is the My Little Box Make up brush, a fluffy powder brush that’s dressed in pink with a rose gold ferrule and it’s so, so pretty.

Lastly on the beauty front is the Toute Nude Nail Polish (Full Size) from their own collection, My Little Beauty. The subtle pink hue is perfect for spring.

2. Lifestyle Items

This month on the lifestyle front you can expect to see a gorgeous Beauty Notebook and I love that it’s something that can easily slip into my handbag without taking up too much room.

I didn’t even know a Smartphone Ring was even a thing! This handy addition is something I never knew I needed until now and is so fitting for this month’s #nofilter theme. I think my only concern is whether it’s strong enough for my Iphone Plus as it’s just secured by a sticky pad.

My Verdict

I thought this was one of My Little Box’s best curations so far and not just because I received a mainly make up line up although that certainly helped but the lifestyle products are also things that I’ll continue to use – the smartphone ring alone is something I never knew I needed until now so I’m hoping it holds the weight of my phone! This month I actually felt that all of items gelled together really well and the samples were very generous in size too. As you can see I was pretty happy with everything inside this month’s box and I love that they swapped out the box for a cosmetic bag instead as I really don’t need another pretty box to add to my out of control collection! One aspect I can’t fault is the extra little touches and the intricate detail, they really do bring something special and unique to the beauty subscription industry and it also benefits from being an affordable option too. I think you’ll agree it’s going to be a tough edit to beat so here’s to hoping that their April edition is just as good!
