Beauty Pick of the Month – March 2017

The amount of times I’ve walked up to a La Mer counter and walked away is countless so when Glossybox unveiled their limited edition box collaboration with La Mer it was the perfect and inexpensive way to try out a brand I’ve been lusting after for so long! So it’s been over a month since I got my hands on the box which in turn means I’ve had a very good play with all the samples and while I was secretly hoping I wouldn’t fall in love with any of that products for the sake of my bank balance unfortunately and typically my first ever encounter with this luxurious brand has been a positive one so far. Sadly the two samples I loved the most came to an end so between the Micellar Water which I absolutely loved and the Revitalising Hydrating Serum which turned out been nothing short of spectacular for my oily skin, I figured that I’d invest my money into the Revitalizing Hydrating Serum instead…cue my March Beauty Pick of the month!

The Revitalizing Hydrating Serum (30ml RRP £145.00) is a fairly new addition to the La Mer line and is described as a deeply replenishing and refreshing formula that awakens a look of vitality one drop at a time, flooding skin with sea-sourced actives and legendary Miracle Broth™. The tiny micro-droplets of The Deep Hydration Ferment with an interactive blend of green, brown and red algae are designed to penetrate rapidly, revitalise with marine nutrients to create a haven of hydration. Lime Tea Concentrate and a halo of antioxidants create a lush environment for a radiant, healthy looking complexion to thrive leaving the skin also plumped and lines softened.

If you’re oily skinned like me you’ll understand the struggle of finding products that don’t leave you looking like a grease ball after a few hours. This formula, however, delivers the perfect amount of hydration without making my skin look extra shiny by the end of the day and is literally like a drink of water for the skin. I don’t know if it’s all in my head but my skin looks more alive, hydrated and overall more glowy and brighter and so far I’ve not had any adverse reactions i.e. breakouts one of my most dreaded fears when I change my skin care routine! It also absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves it feeling silky smooth, making it the perfect base to wear under makeup. The only thing I would say is the scent isn’t the nicest and does smell very alcohol like but it’s something that fades very quickly. It will be interesting to see if this offers any long-term benefits when it comes to the appearance of my skin but in the meantime I’ll be savouring every single drop!

Have you tried anything from the La Mer range? I’d love to hear your thoughts?
