It’s been a while since I last featured a Little-Known Box review on the blog and although the lovely team very kindly do send me over a box every month which I then post on my social media channels I thought I’d do a very quick unboxing of their Step into Spring edition for March as it was just too good not to show off! Showcasing popular brands as well as those that are a little under the radar too this month’s edition is quite possibly my favourite line up to date and features some new discoveries and as well a few long standing favourites in terms of brands I love and already use.

Little-Known Box promises to ship 5-6 products to you per month, to discover, try and enjoy at home. In addition to monthly subscriptions they also offer gift subscriptions and one-off boxes, providing a truly flexible beauty subscription experience! Featured brands are carefully selected and include full and sample size luxury products from skincare, makeup, hair, body and grooming products to nail care, nail art, lifestyle and beauty accessories (with the occasional surprise thrown in!). You might see some well known brands featured, but they will be little-known products or new launches!

Without further ado here’s what they featured inside their March edition:

If you’re a regular reader you’ll know that Bloomtown Botanicals is one of my all time favourite brands so I was delighted to find their Exfoliating & Moisturising Sugar Scrub (Travel Size RRP £5.60) in the scent The Woods nestled inside this month’s box even more so as I’ve not tried their scrubs or this scent before so it was such a welcomed addition. Their shea and sweet almond scrub is a 3-in-1 product that effectively cleanses, exfoliates and moisturises dry skin with a one-of-kind formula that washes off easily, so the skin is left feeling perfectly soft, never greasy. The scrubs are also made from scratch and only contain natural exfoliants (no plastic microbeads) and nourishing botanicals that promise to leave the skin cleansed and soft. All products from Bloomtown Botanicals benefit from being free from palm oil, animal products, wheat, sulfates, SLSs, parabens, synthetic colours and detergents.

Up next and a brand I follow on Instagram is Soapsmith London, founded by Samantha Jameson a self-confessed fragrance junkie with a passion for one of the greatest cities in the world has a bath & body lines created by a blend of fearless fragrance lovers, natural ingredient explorers and skilled old-school artisans. Among this month’s line-up you can expect to see a travel sized version of their Marble Arch soap,  a slab of dark brown, almost black marble, speckled with splashes of colour. This handmade soap bar is made with shea butter, cocoa butter, olive oil and coconut oil base with vanilla, tonka bean, saffron, patchouli and a hint of orange for a strong sensual scent and not only smells absolutely divine but it looks the part too!

On the make-up front we have the SheerStick by  Saturated Colour (Full size RRP £7.00) in the shade Breezy Coral. Described as instantly delivering a nourishing shine for hours of effortless colour pay off and non-stickiness, it also contains  Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil & menthol flavour to pamper your lips and is 100% cruelty-free. On first glance I was like how the hell am I going to pull off this bright orange but thankfully it leaves behind a subtle hint of colour – phew!

I literally have a boatload of sponges to get through so although the Vintage Cosmetics Company Blending Sponge (RRP £5.95) wasn’t the most exciting addition it sure is a handy addition for any make-up lover. Perfectly shaped to work make-up into all of those hard to reach places and suitable for use with foundation, concealer and highlighter, it’s infused with Vitamin E, which is renowned for its moisturising properties and also promises a streak-free effect.

My love for nail varnish knows no end and this month’s Little-known box fuels that obsession with a HJ Manicure Nail Polish in the shade Thunder Storm (Full size RRP £9.50 – shades may vary) and a 5-Star Top Coat by Edge Nails (Full size RRP £2.34)

My Verdict

In terms of my likes when it comes to beauty, this month’s Little-Known Box was definitely my kind of line-up and is quite possibly one of their best edits so far. Covering mainly make up, body care and nails, I don’t think I can even pick a favourite, but the biggest surprise was seeing the scrub from Bloomtown Botanicals and the Marble Arch slab of soap from Soapsmith, a brand I’ve been eyeing up via Instagram for quite a while and judging by the scent alone I’m already in love! All in all, I think this was a pretty solid box, full of nice discoveries from both well known brands as well as some that are lesser known too, something I really love as it always encourages me to get outside my comfort zone and try something new. The overall value which totals up to around £30.00 isn’t going to blow you away but I thoroughly enjoyed unboxing this month’s edition.

In addition to the above you’ll also find exclusive discounts for each of the brands featured so if you happen to fall in love with something you’ll save a percentage off. If you want to be introduced to a number of beautiful and interesting products that are sourced from ethical brands then Little-Known Box is definitely a box you’ll want to get to know better!
