The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skin care, hair care, cosmetics and body products, catering for every beauty lover.

This month’s box is filled with a generous mix of both full size and generous sized samples and showcases products from Laura Geller, Alterna, Merci Handy, This Works, Vitamasques, Omorovicza and Madara.

1. Laura Geller Balance and Brighten Foundation– Travel size 1.8g

Up first and the item that sparked my interest the most was this baked foundation from Laura Geller, a brand I’ve not tried much from until recently. I’ve got to admit powder foundations are not usually my thing during the winter months however now the weather is getting warmer this appears to be such an apt addition although I’m not entirely sure if everyone will receive the same shade. I received the shade fair which is the second lightest from the collection and I’m pretty pale so this turned out to be the perfect match for my skin.

The powder is mineral-oil free, paraben-free and contains antioxidants and is described as being “the creaminess of a liquid and silkiness of a powder”. This has such a silky feel to it and glides onto the skin effortlessly and offers fairly good coverage without the feeling of wearing heavy makeup. Also being in a powder form this doesn’t leave behind that cakey look and gives you a flawless yet natural finish.

2. Merci Handy Hand Cleansing Gel – Full size 30ml RRP £2.90

I think you’ll agree hand sanitisers are pretty standard in terms of what they do not forgetting the fact they can sometimes dry out your hands due to the alcohol content but say hello to Merci Handy who have transformed something rather dull into something colourful, fun, cute and fragrant.

Enriched with vitamin E and emollient beads, this bacteria fighting gel leaves hands feeling soft and smelling delicious and it’s compact size means you carry it when you’re on the go. I’ve received this inside previous boxes and absolutely love the stuff so I’m delighted Look Fantastic featured this among the line-up.

3. This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle– Sample size 10ml.

The Perfect legs skin miracle is a powerful tinted serum to perfect, repair, enhance and helps combat skin imperfections, skin discolourations and scars. Containing a powerful complex of Vitamin C and vitamin E to help even out skin tone and restructure the skin, while Arnica helps to fade bruising. I love the sound of this and can’t wait to give this a go.

4. Omorovicza Cleansing Foam – Travel size 25ml

Harnessing the powers of Hungarian thermal water, this delicately scented blue cleansing foam purifies and refreshes the skin, morning or evening. The sulphate-free formula removes all makeup and impurities without stripping skin of moisture. Although this has been marketed as a foam cleanser, it actually doesn’t foam up but does leave your skin feeling clean without drying it out.

5. Madara Mini Smart Day Cream – Travel Size 20ml

This rich, youth-preserving cream melts into the skin and provides comfort and protection all day long. Formulated with an age-defying Smart Antioxidant complex of Lichen, Moss, Fern, and Alchemilla to deliver intense hydration, reverse the first signs of ageing, and smooth out fine lines. Natural antioxidants provide continuous defence to preserve collagen and promote resilience and firmness of the skin.

6. Vitamasques Pomegranate Sheet Mask – x1 RRP £8.50

The Pomegranate Face Mask by Vitamasques promises to moisturise and lift your skin with an innovative triple layer sheet technology designed to enhance the moisture content within the mask which in turns leads to an increased absorption rate within the skin.

7. Alterna Caviar CC Cream – Travel Size 25ml

On the hair care front we have the Alterna Caviar CC Cream which hails as being a 10 in 1 product! Helping to leave hair feel polished and soft to the touch, this leave-in product delivers 10 benefits in just one easy step. Delivering expert help with moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, UV protection, manageability, strength, anti-breakage, heat protection and hold, the cream can be used alone or underneath other styling products.

My Verdict

If you’re a regular reader you’ll know that I’ve been constantly going on about the lack of variety inside the Look Fantastic Beauty Box and although there’s quite a few skincare products amongst the line up and a couple of brand repeats I’m pleased to report that this is definitely one of their better examples when it comes to a balanced beauty menu plus there’s an incredible seven products on board so it’s great value for money too. I really love the idea behind this month’s box which not only focuses on organic beauty and good-for-you ingredients but all the products gel together nicely with rejuvenation in mind. The main stand outs for me so far are the Laura Geller Balance and Brighten foundation, the Omorovicza Cleansing Foam and of course a long standing personal favourite being the Merci Handy Hand Cleansing Gel. Overall, I’d say this month’s edit was a huge hit with me and it’s the perfect collection to enhance your natural beauty.

The Look Fantastic Beauty Box is the perfect destination to try a range of beauty brands without the hefty price tag and for with subscriptions starting from £13.00 it’s such a guilt-free option to trial beauty products from brands we all love and know alongside some new discoveries too.

Could you choose which foundation shade you received?

    • Fi Whizz

I don’t recall getting the choice but I guess if I need darker can fix that with some powder??

If you are even a medium skin tone it will probably be OK hun as it is very adaptable and forgiving. I have used balance n brighten since it first came to the UK many years ago on QVCUK and have loved it ever since. When it first came out there was just one shade (which is now the medium) and I am nc15-20 and it was basically good for most skin tones. I have used and use porcelain, fair and medium and TBH there is not much difference as they are really good at adapting to your skin tone x

I think the shade fair was sent to everyone? TBH tho it is very forgiving so if you even have porcelain skin or medium toned skin you should be able to use it. If you have very tanned or are a woman of colour it may not be possible to use it? I have about NC15-20 skin tone and have used porcelain, fair and medium balance n brighten. That is how forgiving and adaptable it is (originally there was only one shade which is now classed as medium when it first came out years ago) x

I absolutely loved this months box (TBH Look Fantastic have really upped their game in the last few months) I have actually used Laura Geller Balance n Brighten for many many years (in fact since it first came to the UK when it was on QVCUK) and it has been a staple ever since so was really pleased to get a travel size (I can just pop this in my bag as my Supersize was wayyyyy too big to lug around n my bag Lol) I have also loved Omorovicza since it first came to the UK (which reminds me I have about £70 worth of points to use on their site Lol) and there was just the Queen of Hungary mist and thermal cleansing balm Lol. So was pleased to get the cleansing foam. I really liked the sheet mask (I have been really into sheet masks for the last 2-3 months and use a sheet mask at least 2-3 times a week) the Merci Handy hand cleansing gel was lovely and smelt yummy and lovely also. The madara cream I thought would feel really heavy as it was for dry-really dry skin was pleasantly surprised how light and nice it felt on my face. I have used the 10 in 1 CC cream before and always liked it as you can use it on both wet and dry hair and gives a lovely shine to your hair. The only item I haven’t tried yet is the This Works perfect leg (I love This Works items especially the Sleep items I have a big stash of all their sleep items and never want to be without them as they are brilliant and i’m an insomniac and they have been the only brand that has allowed me to get some sleep as they deliver what they promise) BUT I am sure I will use it eventually? Basically everything in the box I will use and/or love because I have used the item/brand before. I am just sooooo happy with this box and had a BIG smile on my face when I opened it Lol x

I have been subscribing to the Lookfantastic box and Glossy box for the last few months to decide on a permanent choice and have cancelled Glossy box. This months Lookfantastic totally won me over with the quality and size of products. Too many cheap and untailored products in Glossy for me to get excited about and always throw at least 2 products.

I was so surprised at how much I love the Laura Geller balance and brighten! I wouldn’t normally use a powder or mineral foundation as I’m not a fan but tried a really light application of this and oh my gosh!! I love it! I’ve used it every day since! ??
