Unboxed: With Love Box – April 2017

With Love Box – April 2017
Monthly Subscription – £25.00 per month
No of items – 6

My April With Love Box arrived a little earlier than usual which worked out pretty well as it also happened to be my day off so I wasted no time in getting this month’s post up! In comparison to their March edition, this month’s box which is ultimately themed around spring was a lot smaller and if I’m completely honest it just felt a little lacking on the goodies front plus it just didn’t have that wow factor that I’ve been so use to since I got introduced to them in February. If you’re new to the With Love Box, it’s a monthly subscription box packed with beauty products, edible treats, stationary, homeware and everything in between and they ship their boxes at the beginning of the month. Without further ado, let’s take a quick look at what I received inside my April box:

  • 100 Acres Rose and Lavender Bubble Bath – Full size 300ml RRP £14.00
A completely new brand discovery for me on the beauty front is 100 Acres, a little company based in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside and are passionate about creating entirely natural, organic and gorgeous smelling products that will make you feel great. Their expert range of bath and body products is inspired by the natural beauty and diversity of the English countryside. This blissful blend of ancient sweet rose and soothing essential lavender oils promise to relax the mind and clam the spirit and sounds like a good choice for an after work remedy.

  •  100 Acres Lavender and Camomile Body Lotion – Travel size 30ml RRP £9.00
Accompanying the bubble bath above is also a travel sized version of 100 Acres Lavender and Camomile Body Lotion that soothes your skin and senses in preparation for a busy working day or before a restful night sleep. The sedative properties of lavender have long been recognised for relaxing nervous tension and reducing stress which combined with the calming effects of chamomile this lotion lets you drift off into a dreamy bliss.

  • Notebook with peach design – RRP unknown
I’m not too sure who the designer is of this A5 notebook as there’s no information on the actual notebook or inside the box so other than that I have nothing further to add!

  • Sweet Virtues Energise Chia Seeds & Lime Chocolate Truffles – Worth £2.50
These Lime & Chia Seeds Chocolate Truffles provide you with a zingy citrus buzz coupled with an intense flavour. Complex layers of lucuma and maca give the eating experience depth and satisfaction.

  • Sweet Virtues Detox Maqui Berry Chocolate Truffles – Worth £2.50
This wonderfully sweet delight, despite delivering a rich berry flavor which is totally unique to this exceptional fruit contains complex layers of lucuma and maca give the eating experience depth and satisfaction.

  • Photo Prints x 3
Each month With Love feature a new photographer and include 3 prints of the their work. I love the flower theme and these will certainly brighten up my office space. You can also purchase the prints in A4 size too via their website.

My Verdict

While April’s edition wasn’t a personal favourite of mine, I’m also mindful that not every month is going to be winner but for £25 per month I don’t think it’s worth the price tag this month. On a positive note I am looking forward to trying out the products from 100 Acres and I never say no to chocolate but the excitement kind of ends there for me which is such as shame as their spring themed edit really had the potential to be a great one. Again I struggled to find additional information on a couple of the products which really is a bug bear of mine as they don’t include an information card so I would personally love to see one added. I think May’s box will be ultimate decider if I stay subscribed to With Love Box or not but here’s to hoping it makes up for this month’s shortfall. By the way, we already have a little spoiler for May – the box will be themed around Summer Glow.

  • This was the first time I tried this box and I won’t be trying again. I was really disappointed at the contents for such a pricey box, a real shame. I’ll be intrigued to see next months review to see if things improve.

    • Such a shame as their last two boxes were really good. I didn’t think it worth the price tag either this month.
