Lip Monthy – February 2017
Price of monthly subscription including shipping to the UK $16.94 (£13.59)
No of Products: 4
After the success of my February Lip Monthly Bag I decided to continue with my subscription and I’m ever so pleased that I did as their March edit is just as loveable and puts a completely new host of brands in the spotlight that I’ve not tried before. As the name suggests this particular subscription is about all things lips but they do also include a non-lip item which I’m not too fussed about as long as it is only the one product so if you love lipstick, lip gloss, lip glaze, lip stain – essentially, anything in the make-up realm for lips then Lip Monthly which hails all the way from the USA is such a cheap and cheerful subscription that delivers worldwide. As opposed to a box, the products come inside an adorable reusable cosmetic bags with an information card detailing the retail cost of each item and luckily I managed to dodge any custom charges again this month!
Lip Monthly’s monthly bags feature all full-sized products straight to your door and help you discover the best Lip Glosses, Lip Sticks, Lip Balms, Lip Stains and much more. In addition, they’ve partnered with niche brands to big brands all around the world to deliver you 4-5 deluxe products every month with subscriptions starting from around £13.59 (dependant on the dollar exchange rate).
Here’s a very quick overview of what was inside my March bag:
- Laritzy Liquid Lipstick in the shade Lola – Full size RRP $24 (£19.20)
Intensely pigmented, these liquid lipsticks will give you a pop of color that lasts for hours! With the sponge tip applicator, paint your lips with rich, opaque color with a beautiful matte finish.
- Evelyn Iona Lip Gloss in the shade Brooke – Full size RRP $21 (£16.80)
A non sticky, creamy and lush formula that adds a plumpifying coat of goodness to your lips. They claims you can even eat is as made from Bark Extract (tightens and plumps lips), Oregano (works as an antioxidant) Vitamin E (natural moisturizer), Coconut oil (helps fight signs of ageing) & Shea Butter (helps heal skin and improve its general appearance) and also includes many other natural ingredients that are hydrating for your lips. It also boasts from being cruelty-free too.
- Coastal Scents Lipstick in the shade 02 RRP $5.95 (£4.76)
A Luscious lipstick that’s available in 15 everlasting, creamy shades from vibrant pinks and deep reds to rich purples. All lipsticks are also paraben free.
- Leaders USA Caribbean Coconut Calming Mask RRP $6.00 (£4.80)
Infused with coconut from the Caribbean region, this mask promises to instantly soothe and calm irritated skin to relieve redness and even out skin tone. It’s high Vitamin E content activates skin soothing properties, especially helpful for skin that is overexposed to sunlight.
Apart from the bright orange liquid lipstick which was way outside of my comfort zone, I’d say this was definitely another successful edit from Lip Monthly even more so as this particular line-up featured brands that I’ve not come across before. In addition to all the make-up, the sheet mask was also very welcomed as I tend to save these for pamper evenings or for those skin emergencies! In terms of the shades, only two of the lip products made the cut this month and as for the liquid lipstick from Laritzy, the formula is lovely but it just looked so hideous on me – I really need a tan! Value-wise this month’s bag boasts a respectable value of around £45.56 which isn’t bad when you take into account the overall subscription cost. I also like the fact that they feature full-size products only from a mixture of both well-known and niche brands making the
unboxing unbagging so more fun and exciting. Here’s to hoping April’s edition is just as wonderful. If want to discover brands from the US or want to experiment with different shades and formulas then Lip Monthly is the perfect destination.
