Last month’s Glossybox wasn’t a personal favourite of mine but hello to April’s edition which certainly looks much more promising and I think it’s their best edit so far this year. Themed around busy girls on-the-go (yep that’s me!) this month’s line up is all about shortening your beauty regime whether you’re running late for work (yep that’s me again!) or need a quick make-up refresh then you’ll really appreciate these key essentials for a chaotic-free morning/day! Covering a good area of beauty from make-up, hair care and a sanitiser from fun and vibrant brand Merci Handy there’s a mixture of full sized products as well as some travel sized samples from well-known brands and a couple of new discoveries too.

If you’re new to Glossybox, it’s a monthly subscription box that comes packed with both deluxe-sized and full-size products and covers all areas of beauty from skin care, hair, nails, make-up and everything else in between from brands we all love and know as well as those hidden gems too! The box costs £13.25 per month and contains contents which always exceed the overall subscription price.

1. Elgon Deliwash Cleansing Conditioner – Travel Size 100ml

The first of the new discoveries comes from Elgon, an italian brand that’s completely new on my radar but this shampoo that also combines a conditioner too is bound to shave off some minutes when you’re rushing around in the morning.

With its ability to cleanse and condition the hair without any sulphates, salts and artificial colours, this is suitable for all hair types and also benefits curly haired girls as it enhances curls leaving them free from frizz. Due to this product having no nasties in its ingredient list this won’t foam up as much.

2. Merci Handy Love and Hand Cleansing Gel – Full Size 30ml RRP £2.90

I think you’ll agree hand sanitisers are pretty standard in terms of what they do not forgetting the fact they can sometimes dry out your hands due to the alcohol content but say hello to Merci Handy who have transformed something rather dull into something colourful, fun, cute and fragrant.

Enriched with vitamin E and emollient beads, this bacteria fighting gel leaves hands feeling soft and smelling delicious and its compact size means you carry it when you’re on the go. I’ve received this inside previous boxes and absolutely love the stuff so I’m delighted to have another in my stash!

3. Rodial Glamolash Mascara – Travel Size 6ml

This mascara promises to give you supercharged volume with an intense black colour concentration and a long-wear formula to ensure eyelashes are maximised from day to night. It contains beeswax for lash conditioning, carnauba wax for even adherence to prevent clumping and soluable collagen to provide full body to lashes with added shine however I can’t say I was overly wowed by this but it did offer some volume after a couple of coats.

4. ModelCo Mini Contour Stick – Travel Size RRP £8.00

I don’t contour much and I definitely don’t contour on work days as I rather sleep for an extra 10 mins! This handy chubby stick is ideal for achieving natural-looking contour at the cheeks, along the jawline and other areas with expert precision. The creamy, lightweight texture promises to glide over bare skin or foundation to seamlessly define and shape your features. I’ve not tried a crayon formula before so I was very eager to give this a go and although it did look alarmingly dark against my pale skin it did blend out very smoothly and easily leaving just a faint and not so obvious finish and is something that I’ll continue to use.

5. Sport FX Double Time Brush Buffer + Powder Duo – RRP £10.99

This versatile & multi-functional double-ended brush from Sport FX has been designed to make quick turnarounds at the gym more realistic and can be used with creams, powders and liquids. The brush also boasts synthetic Taklon bristles with anti-bacterial properties. I love that this brush has so uses meaning you can free up some space inside your make-up bag without having to carry multiple brushes.

My Verdict

I’d say Glossybox actually nailed it this month in terms of my personal likes and their April edition which happens to be their best yet this year in my opinion ended up being pretty amazing from the theme, the brands they partnered up with right through to contents they handpicked for us and they even managed to skip the skin care this month too! I love that the entire line up had busy girls on-the-go in mind as I know only too well what it’s like when you’re running around like a crazy woman to get to work on time but in addition to those time savers, this month’s line up also featured some miniature sized products meaning they can accompany you while you’re on the go too. Value-wise it’s not the best I’ve seen from them and although this month’s box only featured two full sized products, the remainder are generous travel sizes and are adequate enough for you to judge whether you like them or not plus It was also exciting to see a couple of new brands on board this month. Overall I absolutely loved this month’s offering and here’s to hoping May’s edit is just as wonderful.
