This month’s Moi-Même Box takes us on a little journey to Paris, a beautiful city that I’ve still not managed to tick off my list yet so this month’s edit was certainly a tease but a such a lovely way to explore the city from a far! Showcasing both beauty and lifestyle treats that capture the beauty of French style, this month’s line up features gorgeous smelling body care, stationary, a leather pocket box and there’s even a book on how you can style your home and live like a Parisienne. I’ve got to admit this month’s edition wasn’t a personal favourite of mine mainly due to a couple of items which I felt let the box down but nonetheless I’m delighted with the remainder and value-wise it totals up to a respectable £100.00 this month.
Here’s what they featured inside their April box:
Up first we have the Maison Meunier Paris Radiance Scrub for Face & Body (Full size 220g RRP £17.00) and as soon as I opened the box I was hit by the coffee scent unintentional of course but so apt as the French love sipping on coffee! If you’re skin and senses needs a wake up call then I’d say this is a good choice to get that energising hit without the caffeine! This invigorating coffee scrub promises to remove dull skin cells and boost blood circulation to reveal healthy, glowing skin. It contains organic fair-trade coffee, organic Almond oil, Virgin Coconut oil, brown sugar, Epsom salts and vitamin E which together help to detoxify and nourish the skin and the pure Grapefruit essential oil awakens the senses and leaves you feeling energised.
To accompany the Radiance Scrub above you can also expect to see the Maison Meunier Paris Velvet Body Lotion (Full size 250ml RRP £26.00). Made with natural ingredients and a calming scent for a truly sensorial experience, this natural organic body lotion is suitable for all skin types and it’s enriched with Olive oil that readily absorbs to instantly hydrate and condition the skin. The lotion is also infused with a delicate and subtle blend of organic Lavender, Chamomile, Geranium and Clary sage essential oils that envelop the body in a gentle aura of relaxation.
I do love a good book and the Chez Moi Decorating your Home and Living Like a Parisienne by Sarah Lavoine (RRP £16.00) is definitely a firm favourite amongst this month’s line up and not only features home inspo, tips and tricks but there’s also gorgeous illustrations to match. Covering each room in the home, Sarah Lavoine explains her approach to using colour, highlights the indispensable elements of each space, and suggests how to add unforgettable details in order to create a restful and chic environment.
Sticking to the Paris theme up next we have the Laurige France Pocket Box (RRP £20.00), a handy and portable box that’s ideal for carrying a lipstick, other small make up items or jewellery. Hand-crafted and made from quality leather there’s also a little mirror inside. If you subscribed when Moi-Même first started their journey then you would have received a passport holder from the same brand so it’s nice to a have a matching duo but I just wasn’t that wowed by it however I’m sure I’ll find a use for it.
The Paris in Colour Notecards (RRP £11.00) are without a doubt a lovely addition and really captures the City of Paris beautifully but I don’t think I’ll get any use out of these other than using them as blog props. Compiled by photographer and blogger Nichole Robertson, these notecards are a journey through the world’s most romantic city.

My Verdict
The Moi-Même boxes are always such a treat and I really wanted to love this month’s edition as a whole but you’ve probably gathered there was a couple of items that I felt let this box down from being 100% perfect however I’m delighted with the remainder, I guess I just found the inclusion of the notecards and the pocket box a little underwhelming but having said that I’ll probably use the notecards for blog photos and I’m sure I’ll find a use for the pocket box too! On a positive note I loved the Paris theme, everything gelled together well and I’m particularly looking forward to indulging in the beauty products from Maison Meunier and having a good read of the Chez Moi Decorating your Home and Living Like a Parisienne book -it has some great home inspo ideas, tips and tricks and gorgeous illustrations to match! Value-wise you can expect to see all full sized products on board with an overall value of £100.00 and there’s also a bonus item this month in the form of a £10.00 gift voucher which you can redeem via their shop.
Moi-Même Box is a definitely a unique gem in the world of monthly beauty & lifestyle boxes and while the subscription box market is growing on a daily basis, their concept is unique and enticing and for me personally I love all the new finds and the high quality offerings from small batch companies and brands that are under the radar meaning they are very unlikely to show up in any of the other boxes. In terms of the cost, the quarterly subscription roughly amounts to the same if you’re already a monthly beauty box subscriber but the only downside is you’re parting with £49.95 in one go which may not be feasible for some but it’s worth trying at least once.
