My April *Pink Parcel has arrived and if you didn’t know already it’s one of my favourite subscriptions which I always looking forward to receiving however I’ve got to admit it’s not been fun at all staring at that chocolate pot as I couldn’t indulge until I took my photo’s and now I’m just sad that it’s all gone as it was so, so yummy! – can we have one of these every month please Pink Parcel? Anyway chocolate obsession aside, you can expect to see the usual period essentials to ensure you’re fully equipped accompanied by some cheer in the form of beauty and lifestyle products to make that time of the month a much happier one.

Pink Parcel is a subscription service for your monthly cycle who send you what you need, right when you need it as well as some lovely treats to brighten up those days of the month. With three dispatch dates to choose from, Pink Parcel literally take care of everything and will ship your box before your period is due. If you’re worried about flows and absorbencies, they have that covered too as you can choose your preferred brand as well as the type of sanitary items to suit your flow making it completely bespoke to your needs.

Without further ado here’s what you can expect to see inside this month’s Pink Parcel:

1. Period Essentials

No matter what your cycle length is the amount of sanitary items and liners included within the box is impressive. You can also choose between receiving pads or tampons from a good selection of brands.

I was particularly happy to see popular brands on board such as Tampax, Always and Body Form. If you’re anything like me then this really helps avoid last-minute runs to the supermarket! There’s also a useful drawstring pouch filled with pads and liners that you can pop into your handbag straightaway.

2. Beauty Treats – 5 Items

Up first we have the Hikari Lipstick (Full size RRP $13 £10.38), a brand that hails from the US but I’m a little disappointed that Pink Parcel didn’t pick out something more seasonal as the shade Cranberry is such a dark hue for this of the year although there are different shade variations so maybe I was just unlucky. Formula-wise, the lipstick is creamy and hydrating with a sheer finish but wasn’t a favourite of mine if I’m honest.

On the skin care front you can expect to see a handy travel sized version of the Lavera Basis Sensitiv All-Round Cream (25ml RRP £2.00), an ultra-rich moisturiser recommended for very dry skin and extremely beneficial for all skin types. This all round cream moisturises every part of your face and body, particularly the drier areas like heels, elbows and knees. It’s enriched with organic nourishing and moisturising ingredients of organic shea butter and organic almond to protect, lock in moisture and care for your skin.

Pink Parcel featured the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Shampoo last month so it’s nice to have a complete set for those who aren’t so picky with their hair products like me! The Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Conditioner (Travel size 50ml) is a luxurious formula that’s infused with African Macadamia Oil and promises to deeply nourish and beautify hair with lustrous shine and up to 5x silkier texture without weighing it down.

I literally have a whole pile of hand creams to get through and judging by the pile I doubt I’ll ever get through them all but that doesn’t stop me from getting excited when a new one turns up especially when they smell good enough to eat…cue the Pattiserie De Bain Hand Cream (Travel size 25ml RRP £3.99) which comes scented in either Vanilla or Caramel. Rich in moisturising glycerine to keep your hands in tip-top condition with the added bonus of our delectable sweet scents, the cream fills your senses with a sweet vanilla cream reminiscent of classic French patisseries and warm English custard.

Lastly and one of my favourites from this month’s line up is the Hairon Ties (RRP £3.99) which look and feel identical to Invisibobbles. These hair rings don’t tug or pull your hair, won’t cause breakage or split ends and have a strong hold that works great with all hair types. They also don’t leave a kink in your hair so you can go from hair up to long flowing hair without a trace! When it comes to hair ties, I definitely lean more towards these than the elasticated ties so I’m delighted to have some more as I’m forever losing mine!

3. Tea and Sweet Treats – 2 items

As well as the beauty and lifestyle line up you can also expect to see a sample of tea/coffee and foodie treats, the perfect mix to satisfy those cravings and as always they sure do hit the spot but always disappear so quickly!

Inside this month’s curation you can expect to see a Your Tea Sleep Tea sample (£16.00 for a pack of 40), Piff Paff Pudding Pot (RRP £2.00) and the Conscious Chocolate (RRP £0.80)

My Verdict

Unfortunately their was a couple of products on the beauty front that wasn’t to my liking this month, the lipstick shade was more suited for the winter months and the Dove Conditioner isn’t something I can use on my hair although I completely get why they included it as it accompanies the shampoo which we received last month so it’s nice to have a complete set if you’ve not already used it up! In terms of favourites and as sad as it sounds, I think the Piff Paff Chocolate Pot stole the limelight this month however I do like the hair bobbles and I never say no to hand cream especially when they smell good enough to eat like the Pattiserie De Bain hand cream! All in all, there was some things I liked and some things I didn’t like as much but when you take into account all the sanitary essentials and goodies Pink Parcel include it’s incredibly good value for money as well as being such a fantastic resource to ensure you’re fully stocked from the first day to the very last.

If you haven’t got on the Pink Parcel train yet then it’s definitely a subscription I highly recommend and the thrill of the surprise will not fail to make you look forward to that time of the month!
