If you were a regular subscriber to Little Bit Lavish then you’ll know that instead of offering a monthly subscription the box is now bi-monthly costing £35.00 meaning you can expect to see more goodies on board with a good value to match. Their April box which is their first debut since they made the switch is themed Serene Queen and invites us to relax, unwind and enjoy some spa rituals at home and it’s filled with a medley of  indulgent skin and body treats as well as a candle to set the scene and some yummy chocolate…I’m so ready to get pampered!

If you’re new to Little Bit Lavish their entire focus is pampering with carefully chosen products for you to enjoy as their belief is that all women deserve some time for themselves. Their bi-monthly box of goodies will have a different theme each time and features both travel size and full size products and will contain between 5-7 carefully selected pampering treats from beauty, skincare and the odd makeup item plus a lifestyle item and something edible or drinkable. The brands you can expect to see will be a mixture of established companies to cottage industries with the intention of mainly focusing on organic or natural and cruelty free products.

Without further ado here’s a first look at their April edition:

To kick start the pampering rituals and create the perfect ambience is a very apt addition in the form of a beautiful Soapstone Oil Burner (RRP £8.00) and a tea light candle but of course it wouldn’t be complete without an oil so Little Bit Lavish have also featured the SPA Essential Oil Blend by Made in Zen (15ml RRP £7.99), infused with Ylang ylang, frangipani, jasmin, and pine.

Up next we have the Radiance of Venus Skin Brightener (RRP approx. £8.40), an award winning product from Fitzjohn Skin Care who have made an exclusive trial size just for Little bit Lavish subscribers. This advanced facial treatment promises to instantly brighten and smooth your complexion, promoting a fresh, radiant glow and it also enhances the absorption of other treatments.

On the body care front is the Tea Tree & Poppyseed Sugar Scrub (RRP £2.49) from Back2Natural that boasts being 100% natural and contains mild anti-septic, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. It also contains pure Cocoa Butter for providing extra skin moisture and nourishment.

Accompanying the scrub and quite possibly my favourite from line-up is this very generous full size version of the Collagen & Red Snow Algae Radiant Energy Body Balm from Willow Beauty (200g RRP £32.00) and it’s another brand that’s completely new on my radar and my first experience has certainly been a positive one. With a host of super-powered ingredients such as Swiss Red Snow Algae (the plant cell protects the skin from ageing whilst encouraging regeneration), vegetable collagen (plumps the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines),  this rich velvety balm is such a treat and not only hydrates but leaves such an energising scent on the skin thanks to the citrusy notes. The only thing I would say is it’s not the most easiest balm to work with and neither is it quick when it comes to application but warming it up in your hands helps!

While I love the idea behind this Massage Candle by The Herb Garden (RRP £4.00) I think I’ll use this solely as a candle but you can use it as a massage oil or as a moisturiser for rejuvenating tired or irritated skin thanks to the sweet almond oil and shea butter which can be safely used for either a massage or moisturising lotion

Last but not least and the perfect way to end a pampering session is not one but two offerings of chocolates in the form of a Lindt Bunny Paw and a Malteser Bunny

My Verdict

I had really high hopes for this month’s Little Bit Lavish box and I’m pleased to report it did not let me down. Not only was this a very successful interpretation of a spa themed curation but they also covered all bases such as creating the ambience, indulgent bath and body treats and even some chocolate to really spoil ourselves! I don’t think there’s anything within this edit that I won’t continue to use and all the products they handpicked are universal enough to be enjoyed by someone at any age and there was lots to delve into with the majority being all new finds for me. While the box is now bi-monthly, I don’t think anything’s really changed other than the price but I am pleased to report that the high quality and my love for this box still remains the same plus I was especially happy to see that they hadn’t steered away from introducing us to new brands and products as that was just one of the many reasons why I fell in love with Little Bit Lavish in the first place! Overall I thought this month’s edit was amazing and featured a nice range of both travel sized and full sized products which in turn will certainly enable me to get many pamper sessions in!
