It’s a new month which means it’s time to unveil *Roccabox’s latest curation which is in collaboration with Lauren Maher who blogs at Sassy in the City and it’s a good one but I wouldn’t say it was my favourite curation from them, I guess some of the items just didn’t appeal to me due my personal preferences and likes but it does feature some new discoveries that I’ve not had the opportunity to try before which is always exciting and welcomed. Showcasing a balanced beauty menu, this month’s box touches on skin and body care, nails, make-up and even hair removal and showcases both familiar brands and those that are little unknown. If you’re new to Roccabox then they enlist the help of a beauty blogger to put their favourite picks forward inside each edition which is pretty unique and isn’t something that’s been done before. If you’re interested in signing up don’t forget to use my exclusive 10% off code at the end of this post!

Here’s some of Lauren’s favourite picks that have made their way inside the May box:

Up first and just one of the new discoveries on board is the IZ Gel Effect Nail Polish (Full size RRP £6.00 – shades may vary) in the shade Forget Me Not which is from their Spring 2017 collection. This plumping gel effect patented formula is created with plasticiser technology, resists, chipping leaving healthy plumped nails with no need for a UV lamp or salon visit. I can’t say I’ve ever finished a bottle of nail polish so I really love that these come in a mini size as they are ideal for saving space and also ensures less wastage plus they’ve got quite good shade selection online.

I love treating my skin to a mask at least 2 times a week but I’m a little reluctant to try the Monu Hydrating Mask (Full size 100ml RRP £26.95) as it’s targeted towards dry skin types so I’ll be using this as foot mask instead and in case you’re wondering I haven’t lost the plot, it’s one of Monu’s top tips on how to get the most out of the mask! Anyway back to its intended purpose, this non-setting treatment can be used 2-3 times a week and has been formulated to thoroughly condition skin leaving it looking and feeling refreshed and comforted. Created using an indulgent blend of natural ingredients including the calming properties of Geranium Essential Oil and Kaolin Clay to ensure skin is utterly cleansed and energised.

Up next and another brand that’s completely new on my radar is Glo & Ray, a British brand which draws inspiration from the natural wonder of light. Their Longwear Precision Eyeliner Pen (Full Size RRP £6.90) in the shade brown features an easy-to-control tip that enables you to draw lines with intense colour and also boasts a longwear and smudge-resistant formula…I just wish I received the shade Black as I would have been more inclined to use it!

When it comes to hair removal I pretty much take the easy way out and shave as opposed to waxing! Admittedly, I’m not been a fan of Wilkinson razors as I find I get a much closer shave with my trusty Gilette but having said I’ll definitely give the Intuition Razor (RRP £6.50) a go to see if their technology has moved on since I last used one of their razors plus I do like the idea that it lathers, shaves and moisturises in just one step which is great for days when you’re in a rush which is most days for me! With outstanding blade technology along with a built in moisturiser infused with Shea Butter to provide the perfect all in one solution for dry skin you don’t need any shave gel – just add water!

Last but not least is the Madara Amber Heaven Body Lotion (Travel size), a popular high street brand that you’ve probably spotted in Sainburys and Boots. With a sensual fragrance of sandalwood and patchouli, the body cream promises to transport to you to an exotic spa paradise where you can enjoy the ultimate pampered experience. It contains moisturising cocoa butter, nourishing gold of pleasure oil, soothing frangipani flower milk, protecting vitamin E, fragrant sandalwood and patchouli.

My Verdict

Although this wasn’t my favourite offering from Roccabox mainly due to my own personal preferences I did enjoy being introduced to the new brands and products this month and there’s no arguing that this box still ranks high when it comes to the value, the brands they feature and the generous sized products they include – you really can’t go wrong! As always, they’ve covered a good ground on the beauty front something they always get spot on month on month so you’re bound to come across some favourites. If you’ve not guessed already my favourite from this month’s line-up is the IZ Nail Varnish but I’m also looking forward to trying out the Wilkinson razor and hope that it performs just as good as my Gilette! Value-wise, this month’s contents are worth a respectable £46.35 and with the majority being full sized you’ll certainly be able to judge whether the products work for you or not plus you can also expect to see discounts for some of the brands featured within the information booklet too.
