It’s officially summer and although the weather states otherwise, this month’s oh so loveable ‘Park Life’ Glossybox has everything from skincare to finishing touches and is all about getting us prepped and polished for the outdoors come rain or shine! Covering a good balance on the beauty front from brands we love and know in addition to some new discoveries too this month’s edit features mainly full sizes in addition to some travel sized which can easily be transported with you and they’ve also included a bonus product and a little preview of the much anticipated book by leading blogger, Louise Pentland.

If you’re new to Glossybox, it’s a monthly subscription box that comes packed with both deluxe-sized and full-size products and covers all areas of beauty from skin care, hair, nails, make-up and everything else in between from brands we all love and know as well as those hidden gems too! The box costs £13.25 per month and contains contents which always exceed the overall subscription price.

1. BeautyPro Black Diamond Mask – x1. RRP £4.95 for 3 Masks

I’ve got to admit these peel off masks absolutely terrify me which is of course is down to all those videos I’ve been watching and from afar it’s hilariously funny but I’m not sure I’m brave enough to give this a go, my pain threshold is rubbish and I’d spend so much time contemplating on how to remove it, it would be stuck on my face for ages!

The BeautyPro Black Diamond Black Peel-off Mask with Activated Charcoal promises to loosen blackheads and cleanse deep into the pores to remove impurities while clarifying and purifying the skin and rebalancing oily areas. You simply peel the mask away to reveal fresh, clear skin! The mask is also free of mineral oils, lanolin and petroleum paraben.

I’m still in two minds whether to try this out or not but I’d imagine it would be quite satisfying to see how much gunk it removes!

2. 111Skin Space Defence Bright Eye Lift Gel – Sample size 5ml

When a medic from Harley Street combines his experience with hi-tech cutting edge technology and amazing result – pound signs spring to mind! This soothing eye gel reduces the appearance of dark circles, minimises puffiness and softens the appearance of fine lines while keeping the eye area hydrated. The 5ml sample may appear tiny but the full sized version (15ml) retails for an eye watering £110 so I’d say this is a pretty generous high end addition.

3. Manna Kadar Sheer Glo Illuminator – Travel Size 20ml

On the make-up front we have the Manna Kadar Sheer Glow illuminatoran incandescent highlighter liquid that gives a radiant glow to the skin and lights it up in a soft, diffused way without any harsh shimmer or glitter flecks!  I love that you can mix this with body lotion (perfect for evening events) or create a dewy day look when mixed with foundation and is a universal shade that’s soft and subtle.

4. Sleek Power Plump Lip Crayon – Full Size RRP £5.50

Super-pigmented, this tingling lip crayon by Sleek in the shade Notoriously Nude glides on effortlessly for a pop of colour with an addictive buzzing sensation. It enhances the appearance of your lips and helps them appear fuller and more luscious.

This does exactly what it says and provides a lovely wash of colour with a tingly, plumped up effect. The longevity isn’t the greatest but when you take into account the budget friendly price, you really can’t complain! I just wish Glossybox chose a shade that was a little more summery.

5. Batiste Stylist XXL Plumping Powder – Full Size 5g RRP £3.99

The Batiste XXL Plumping Powder is described as the perfect fix for creating an instant amplified effect for roots and big styles. A light shake of this weightless powder works in texture and adds maximum volume to give your hair perfect body without back-combing! You simply sprinkle a little at a time into roots or style.

6. Sanctuary Ultimate Salt Scrub Sachet – x1 60g

Having received a body scrub only last month, I wasn’t excited to see another amongst the line up so soon but this travel-friendly exfoliating Salt Scrub Sachet by Sanctuary is a sumptuous blend of skin polishing Dead Sea Salts wrapped in moisturising Coconut, Jojoba and Sweet Almond Oils.

My Verdict

Glossybox have knocked it out of the park (unintended pun there!) for their June edition and it was so refreshing to delve into this month’s contents which not only features a great variety of beauty products to appeal to a broad audience but the box also exposes some new products and brands which in theory is what these boxes are all about! Of course, if I had it my way the lip crayon would have been a more summery but other than that I’m really looking forward to trying out quite a few things from this month’s line-up and so far from what I have tried the Sleek Plumping Lip Pencil is a firm favourite in terms of the formula. I’m still in two minds whether to try out the mask or not but I do love that Glossybox included something that’s been trending as of late (the beauty of beauty boxes!) – maybe I’ll try it out on my husband first and pretend it’s a normal mask! Value-wise, there’s a good mix of both full sized products and travel samples but most of all I love that everything can be easily transported be it in our handbags or hand luggage!
