It’s been a few months since I last featured a So Susan Lip Love Bag review so I’m delighted to welcome them back to the blog but unfortunately it will be my last review for a while until I can find that work, blog, life balance! For July, So Susan have featured a good selection of products on the make-up front accompanied by a pretty pouch which has such a powerful slogan and everything’s been handpicked to perfection to compliment their tropical theme. The So Susan collection ranges from make-up to nail varnish combining their lovely portfolio of colours with science. Their philosophy is to create colours which last, are cruelty free and also much kinder to your skin. As well as the philosophy behind the brand, I love the feminine and pretty designed packaging which always stands out for me. I’ve tried quite a few products from their collection and already have quite a few firm favourites plus they house their products in such pretty packaging!
Here’s quick overview of what you can expect to see inside their July edition:
Up first we have the So Susan Cosmetics Concealer Brush (RRP £16.94) which is a very good sized concealer brush perfect for covering larger areas. This versatile and cruelty-free brush is made from synthetic nylon & taklon hairs only. I own quite a few brushes by So Susan and I’m really happy to welcome another to my stash as the quality of their brushes are so good and feel lovely on the skin too!
Nothing says summer than the smell of coconuts so the Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Coffee + Coconut Lip Scrub (RRP £14.66) was such a fitting item for their tropical theme minus the coffee of course! This shea butter-based lip scrub helps to keep your lips smooth, free from dead skin, plumped & primed and is formulated with pure golden sugar, jojoba and rosehip oil. I do love sugar scrubs, they do a great job perfecting your lips prior to applying a matte lipstick plus some of them taste pretty good too!
Talking of matte lips, up next is the Trifle Cosmetics Cream Bar in ‘Cake Island’ (RRP £16.21), a scrumptiously smooth and tasty Agave infused matte lipstick which doesn’t leave your lips craving for moisture thanks to the addition of almond Oil. The shade Cake Island is a very summery fushia pink and it really packs a punch!
Lastly is the Nomad Cosmetics Cachorros Eyeshadow (£9.26), a mint green eyeshadow inspired by the classic American cars of decades past, ubiquitous in La Habana Vieja and it’s such a unique addition to my collection shade-wise. Described as smooth, rich and super pigmented, the eyeshadow is infused with Papaya Seed Oil to help nourish the skin and also helps to keep the colour looking fresh and vibrant. It’s also free of parabens, phthalates & mineral oil and is peta certified, cruelty-free and vegan.
My Verdict
With beautiful pops of colour, this month’s Lip Love Bag really embraces the season and was perfectly curated to match their tropical theme – it’s a very vacation-ready line-up! Their July edit showcased a good selection on the make-up front with a pretty make-up pouch to match and as always every single item’s full sized so you’ll definitely be able to judge whether the products/shades work for you or not. I have a couple of favourites so far, the concealer brush is great quality and the matte lip lipstick is a true winner thanks to the moisturising and pigmented formula.
