I don’t think I even need to tell you how dreamy this month’s Birchbox is, their Summer Daze edition definitely speaks for itself and looks rather homely on my pretend beach set-up (the messiest flatlay ever!) and secretly was also the design I was hoping for so thank you to those who voted for this! As for the contents, they are just as lovable and combined not only covers a good area of beauty but they’ve also featured some great bite sized products which would make the perfect travel companions and excitingly there’s a few products that have already made their way into my beauty routine!

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 5 luxe beauty treats from well-known brands and emerging brands and occasionally you may also receive a lifestyle item too. Birchbox is also a full-blown beauty destination where you can purchase all the brands which have been featured in their boxes.

Here’s what I received inside my July box:

Up first and just one of my favourites amongst this month’s line-up is the Balance Me Flash Cleanse Micellar Water (Travel size 30ml). Described as a luxurious formula, it eliminates dirt and make-up without over-drying or uncomfortable tightness and is fortified with Mandarin Essential Oil and protein-rich Pea Peptide to effortlessly dissolve impurities and promotes cell regeneration, whilst soothing Chamomile delivers anti-inflammatory benefits to calm redness and sensitivity. The formula is extremely gentle, unscented, and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. The sample bottle contains enough product for at least one week, which is enough time to figure out of you like it or not- I personally really like it so far.

Up next and something you really can’t go wrong with is a foot cream, it’s a staple for all year round and the Anatomicals Softening Eucalyptus Foot Cream (Travel Size 30ml) comes in such fun packaging and it’s a pretty decent sized sample too! This refreshing lotion promises to instantly soothe and it uses cooling eucalyptus to restore and deodorise the feet. Plus, the rich texture sinks in quickly and helps soften any rough areas.

On the hair care front and another personal favourite from the line-up is the Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Overnight Recovery (Travel Size 30ml), an overnight formula that absorbs instantly into dry hair and works while you sleep to help nourish and rehydrate every strand. It also contains natural protein to boost the hair’s ability to retain moisture, while conditioning agents battle humidity, combat frizz and boost shine. I’ve got admit, I was a little dubious at first as I was worried this would leave a greasy residue on my hair but I’m pleased to report it did no such thing and magically just absorbed into my hair! The next morning, my hair certainly felt and looked much smoother but more impressively the formula also managed to protect my hair from the humidity which alone is such a bonus as it saved a lot of time faffing around with the straighteners in the morning – thanks Birchbox!

Up next is the Benefit Cosmetics Gogotint (Sample size 2.5ml) , a brand new multipurpose stain that adds a cherry pop to cheeks and lips! I play it safe (boring I know!) when it comes to make-up shades so I was pretty chuffed that I received this shade as opposed to the Chachatint which is an orange mango hue!

I know not everyone likes seeing perfume samples inside beauty boxes but I really don’t mind them especially when they are from English Laundry! Thanks to Birchbox, my English Laundry collection consists of three of their fragrances and I’m quite excited as this appears to be a fairly new launch from them! English Laundry Oxford Blue Femme (2ml) is a much subtler version in comparison to their other scents and contains top notes of Citrus, Cassis, Pineapple, Red Fruits, Melon, Dewy Green with a base of Amber, Sweet Musk, Vanilla, Caramelized Sugar, Sandalwood. I think Birchbox have got the description so spot on – it really is sunshine in a bottle and is definitely one for the wishlist!

Lastly is the ORIGINS RitualiTea™ Feeling Rosy™ Face Mask (Sample sachet 5g) , a mask that transforms into a creamy, effervescent oasis of calm and contains Rooibos Tea and Rose to help replenish the skin’s youthful appearance by comforting, smoothing and softening.

My Verdict

They say good things come in small packages, and that’s totally true for this month’s Birchbox from the summery design right through to the contents inside. Their July edition was perfectly curated for the summer months and line-up wise I thought it was a good all-rounder with a decent division on the beauty front which touched on hair, skin and body care and make up. In terms of favourites so far the Balance Me Micellar Water and the Percy & Reed have wiggled their way into my current routine so I can see these being repurchased once the samples have run out! The English Laundry perfume sample was also another winner and it was lovely to be introduced to one of their newer scents which is much more subtle in comparison to the others and is definitely one I’ll be adding to the wishlist! So there you have it this month’s Birchbox review and as you can tell I was pretty chuffed with my contents plus the samples are the perfect size for traveling too!

If you like trying out products from well-known, loved and emerging brands then Birchbox is definitely great for this.
