Roccabox Review – September 2017

I’m a little late to the party this month but today’s post features my Roccabox review and for their September edit it’s themed around London Fashion Week as opposed to collaboration with a blogger. As always this month’s line-up contains both full sizes and good sized samples, is well balanced on the beauty front and also contains a couple of products I’ve not had the opportunity to try before but the remainder are all things that I’ve come across within other boxes so it’s probably not the most exciting box I’ve received from them which does happen from time to time when you review so many boxes!

If you’re new to Roccabox then they enlist the help of a beauty blogger to put their favourite picks forward inside each edition which is pretty unique and isn’t something that’s been done before. If you’re interested in signing up don’t forget to use my exclusive 10% off code at the end of this post!

Here’s what they featured inside their September:

Up first is a full sized Patisserie de Bain Shower Crème Patissiere (Full size 175 ml) which will not fail to satisfy those sweet cravings but the vanilla scent is a little too sickly for my liking so I’ll probably pass this onto my 13 year old sister who will definitely appreciate this.

There’s no such thing as too many make-up brushes and a firm favourite inside this month’s box is the Blank Canvas Quick Brush (Full Size RRP £14.05), a short-handled multi-purpose brush that’s perfect for foundation, bronzer or setting powder. The brush is vegan friendly and is made from soft, anti-bacterial, synthetic fibres and has a striking hot pink handle.

On the skin care front is the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads (sample size x 5 pads) which are great little multi-taskers! Soaked with glycerin, glycolic acid and sodium hydroxide (a.k.a hyaluronic acid) among the top ingredients, the pads provide extra exfoliation and hydration. They also make great lazy-day fixes when you want to cleanse, exfoliate, tone, and hydrate, in one easy step. Unlike other pads I’ve tried, these actually feel good on the skin and the formula is so gentle that it doesn’t cause any irritation or stinging from the acids or alcohol.

Up next and something that’s very season appropriate is the Peony Cosmetics Shadow Trio in Gilded (RRP £14.50), a highly pigmented palette of 3 deep, after-dark shades that are formulated with silicon-coated micronized pigments & healthy kaolin clay for a seamless, silky texture that lasts up to 8 hours with a nourishing and velvety finish. I love the combination of the shades which are all very autumnal and can be used individually or together to achieve a beautiful evening look.

Lastly we have a little miniature stress buster in the form of the Scentered De-Stress Therapy Balm – (Travel size 1.5g RRP £5.00) which uplifts to ease everyday tensions, soothe the mind and lift the spirits. It’s ultimate ‘feel good’ scent is infused with uplifting citrus herbal top notes of Chamomile, Neroli, Mandarin, Rosemary and Sweet Brazilian Orange, a balancing floral heart of Jasmine, Rose, Mimosa and Lavandin, and a grounding Cedarwood base. Aside from this balm smelling fantastic, it’s made with all sorts of ingredients to help you relax and together they blend perfectly. The balm comes in an easy-to-use stick form which easily fits into your handbag.

My Verdict

Admittedly this wasn’t the most exciting line-up from Roccabox for me mainly because the majority that was featured I’ve sampled via other boxes which of course isn’t their fault and is one of the downsides of receiving so many boxes as the same products do jump from box to box! Nonetheless my box did contain both full sizes and good sized samples and also featured a couple of long standing favourites so I’m always happy to have backups of things I already use and love. Costing only £13.95 a month, you really can’t go wrong with Roccabox, it’s the perfect guilt-free treat for any beauty lover.

The eyeshadows are nice, but other than that I don’t think this box would wow me.

Laura I totally agree with you, I’m hoping October box will be more exciting still waiting for a sneak peek before I order though.
