As much as it pains me to say goodbye to the long, sunny days of summer, it’s hard to not find yourself getting swept up in that autumnal spirit and something which definitely sounds more appealing now than it did in summer is the fact I can snuggle up under a big blanket, indulge in comfort food (not that I need an excuse!), beat those autumn blues with some pampering time and light my favourite seasonal candles and this is where the October Look Fantastic Indulge Me edit comes in! This month’s theme invites us to relax, unwind and rejuvenate with a selection of samples and full sizes and not only touches on a good area of beauty but also features the latest copy of Elle Magazine which is such a lovely bonus.
The Look Fantastic box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skin care, hair care, cosmetics and body products, catering for every beauty lover.
This month’s box showcases products from ModelCo, Monu, Ciate, Skimono, Lancer and Bean Body.
Here’s what I received inside my October Box:
Up first and something that immediately grabbed my attention is the Skimono Intense Nourishment+ Hand Mask (x1 RRP £9.99). It’s not the most exciting edition but I very recently tried their foot mask and day 7 my feet still feel amazingly smooth so I’m hoping the same quality has been passed down to their hand mask. The mask contains revitalising serum enriched with shea butter, Aloe Vera & hyaluronic acid and promises to eradicate dryness, restore softness, refine skin texture and also brightens and evens skin tone.
Moving onto skincare, we have The Method Polish by Lancer (Travel size) which is the first step of a 3-step daily skin care regimen developed by celebrity dermatologist Dr. Lancer, whose clients include Kim Kardashian, Beyonce and Victoria Beckham. Marketed as a gentle formula to improve skin tone and texture, it contains pure minerals which are combined with magnesium oxide and sodium bicarbonate crystals to exfoliate the skin’s surface, combating dullness, removing the build-up of debris and for a refreshed, youthful-looking complexion.
Up next is the Monu Firming Fiji Facial Oil (Travel Size), a soothing facial oil lovingly formulated to smooth and comfort the skin whilst preventing dehydration. A refreshing blend of Bois de Rose and Patchouli Essential Oils will ensure skin feels calm, firm and visibly radiant whilst added Natural Plant Oils pamper pores and stimulate the complexion. I already own a sample of this and receiving another one has reminded me that I need to add this to the trial pile!
Although this month’s box is all about that all important pamper time, I’m kind of relieved that Look Fantastic decided to include a couple of make-up products to balance out the line-up and up first we have the Ciate Wonderwand Mascara (Travel size), an intensely volumising and lengthening mascara that creates the ultimate fearless lashes with a carbon black, smudge free formula and a uniquely shaped wand. This is the product I’m most excited about! I really like Ciate as a brand and I’ve heard that this mascara is comparable to the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, which is one of my favourites – I can definitely see the similarities between the two, they both have the same hourglass shape and long bristles. I’m really looking forward to trying this out!
Next on the make-up front and another product which I’m excited to try is the ModelCo Instant Radiance Concealer (Full size £12.99), an Illuminating Under-Eye Concealer which brings light and radiance to the skin helping to erase signs of fatigue. In just one twist, this moisturising and ultra-luminous formula transforms the eye area, making you look refreshed and brightening your complexion.
I don’t know about you but I’m a little bored of these coffee scrubs! I’ve got nothing against the brand in fact this is my first introduction to Bean Body but these types of scrubs have popped up quite a few times inside various boxes and I’m now the proud owner of 10 packs! The Coconut Coffee Bean Scrub (Travel Size 50g) is described as a luxurious, skin-renewing formula infused with Organic Cold-Pressed Coconut Oil to hydrate, exfoliate and soften from top to toe and is ideal for those with eczema and psoriasis.
My Verdict
So there you have it this month’s Look Fantastic beauty box review and I thought their Indulge Me theme showcased the perfect line-up to ease us into the new season plus it’s a great excuse for that all important pamper time. Line-up wise, their October curation was another winner and there was quite a few products that sparked my interest such the mascara, concealer and the hand mask so they’ll be first on the list to trial out this weekend as I have another weekend of doing absolutely nothing – Yay! Overall, this was definitely one of my favourite editions from them this year and there’s a pretty nice range of one-time-use, travel sized, and full sized products in this collection which means you’ll be able to get quite a few pamper sessions in – the only thing missing is the chocolate but that can be easily sourced via my treat cupboard in the kitchen!
I’ve followed Look Fantastic’s journey right from the very start and it’s a box that continues to grow from the box designs which are always so, so pretty, the expertly curated themes to the brands they source for us each month – apart from the occasional product repeats I really can’t fault their boxes and with subscriptions starting from £13.00 you can’t go wrong.
