It’s October which can only mean one thing (apart from autumn and Halloween) it’s Moi-Même Box time and if you love these types of subscriptions which offer both beauty and lifestyle treats,I have a feeling that you’ll simply love this month’s offering! Today’s blog post unveils their latest curation and although they had their work cut out to beat last year’s version I think they’ve definitely managed to outshine it! This month’s carefully curated box which is themed around sleep very cleverly covers all bases and is filled with dreamy and comfy goodies to help us switch up our autumn bedtime routine and ease us into the reality that winter is coming (if you’re a GOT fan you’ll know – sorry couldn’t resist!). Admittedly, I don’t often struggle to get to sleep however for those days when I have a really busy mind that doesn’t want to slow down, there’s a host of key essentials that I’ll be reaching out for to help me get back on track Zzzz!
If you’re new to Moi-Même Box then they are a quarterly subscription box that features an expertly styled assortment of fashion, beauty and lifestyle treats and also offer both full size and premium products. The boxes are also centred around a theme and really are a true treat.
Here’s a closer look at all the goodies that made the cut inside their October edition:
As simple as this might sound, comfy loungewear is such a must and as soon as I get home from work I’m straight into my pj’s so I was delighted to find this Navy Sweatshirt (RRP £30.00) designed by Moi-Même Box amongst the line-up. This cute yet comfy/light sweatshirt says it all and fits and feels really nice too. Available in both navy and grey, they come in various sizes from size 6 to 18 and if you’re not happy with the colour or size you received they’ll swap it for you.
Up next Moi-Même have sourced a good variety of candles from Made by Coopers to help us either drift off into sleep in the evening or awaken the senses first thing in the morning and excitingly I was actually hoping that a candle would make its way inside this month’s edit! From the variations available, I received the Revive candle (RRP £20.00) which is an uplifting blend of four essential oils designed to revive and invigorate the senses and contains a medley of Lemongrass, Ginger, Lime and Bergamot. Soy candles not only burn cleaner, but they also last longer too. All of the Made by Coopers candles are made contain lead-free wicks and are fragranced with 100% essential oils and also benefit from being vegan friendly and cruelty free. If you’re looking for a scent which oozes that feel good vibe then this one really ticks all the boxes.
To help switch your mind into sleepy-time mode, we have the Tisserand Sweet Dreams Rollerball (RRP £6.00), an expertly blended formula with 100% natural pure essential oils with an infusion of soothing Lavender, comforting Sandalwood and calming Jasmine to help prepare your body and mind for sleep, with fewer night time disturbances. I love their spray version of this which currently resides on my bedside table so this handy roller ball will also be joining its counterpart!
A sleep themed box wouldn’t be complete without a Space Mask and spookily it was the design of the front cover that made me think “oooh I bet there’s a space mask inside” as the designs are very similar and I was right! If you haven’t tried these revolutionary masks then where have you been – it’s the perfect sleep companion! I absolutely love this mask so I’m delighted to have another on stanby as they boast great benefits. This genius invention warms and alleviates strain on your eyes which in turn aids in calming you down and relaxing your mind from long days of work, excessive screen staring, stress and headaches. The mask gently heats up and lasts around 15 minutes and definitely helps me to relax and drift off into sleep!
I’ve got to admit most my ideas and things I’ve got to do or forgotten to do usually pop up randomly into my head when it’s time to switch off so this Night Thoughts Journal by the School of Life (RRP £15.00) is such an apt addition if you’re anything like me!
I wish I had magical powers or alternatively my very own make-up artist but since that’s never going to happen I guess we all have to resort to a few tricks of our own to make us look more human in the mornings and this is where the Bellapierre Glowing Palette (RRP £40.00) comes in! Formulated with natural ingredients and mineral pigments for long-lasting colour that’s kind to skin, each powder promises to seamlessly blend for a soft, buildable finish with a subtle shimmer to pinpoint your favourite features. This sleek little number has everything you need to cheat that glow and includes 6 flattering universal highlighters to play with! When it comes to make-up looks I’m definitely more of a minimalist and these powders hit just the right shimmer level – enough that you can see it, without veering into disco ball territory! I’ve got to admit I’ve not really been a huge fan of Bellapierre but very recently having tried a couple of their liquid lipsticks and now this palette I’ve changed my mind about them!
My Verdict
I think we all start to crave those little things that envelope us with that cosy feeling and Moi-Même Box have very cleverly delivered exactly that from relaxing the mind and soul to aiding a good night’s sleep and there’s even some lounge wear to set the mood which feels really comfy on and is spot on size-wise. I’ve got to admit the Bellapierre Palette looked really out of place at first with the whole sleep theme going on but I love that they managed to sneak this in as it’s a great way to cheat your way to a “I had a great night’s sleep” look plus the colours are absolutely beautiful, natural looking and would make a great addition to any makeup bag. After last year’s edit, I had really high hopes for this month and I’m pleased to report they delivered another all-star line-up which not only was a very successful interpretation of a sleep themed box but all the items gelled together really nicely too. With this in mind and taking into account my personal preferences and likes, impressed would be an understatement, this box literally blew me away and is most definitely my favourite offering from them yet, also I was hoping for some sort of clothing and a candle, and both were inside the box!
Moi-Meme really do go out of their way to source the prettiest products for their edits and although the subscription box market is growing on a daily basis, their concept is by far unique and enticing and personally I love all the new finds and the high quality offerings from small batch companies and brands that are under the radar meaning they are very unlikely to show up in any of the other boxes. In terms of the cost, the quarterly subscription roughly amounts to the same if you’re already a monthly beauty box subscriber but the only downside is you’re parting with £49.95 in one go which may not be feasible for some but it’s worth trying at least once.
