It’s been a while since I featured a *Little-Known Box unboxing on the blog so I’m delighted to welcome them back with their October edition which contains a lovely selection of good for you products which are perfect for stepping into a new season. This month’s carefully curated selection focuses on ingredient conscience and environmentally-friendly British brands and is just one of the reasons why I absolutely adore this month’s offering. Covering a good area of beauty from skin and body care and make-up, it’s a great all-rounder and contains a mixture of full sizes and generous sized samples.

If you’re new to Little-Known Box, they promise to ship 5-6 products to you per month, to discover, try and enjoy at home. In addition to monthly subscriptions they also offer gift subscriptions and one-off boxes, providing a truly flexible beauty subscription experience! Featured brands are carefully selected and include full and sample size luxury products from skincare, makeup, hair, body and grooming products to nail care, nail art, lifestyle and beauty accessories (with the occasional surprise thrown in!). You might see some well-known brands featured, but they will be little-known products or new launches!

*Please note all subscribers will receive the same products but scents/shades may vary.

Without further ado here’s what they featured inside their October edition:

Up first and the perfect addition for this time of the year to weather-proof our skin is a bottle of Argan Oil (Travel size 15ml RRP £9.50) from Simpy Argan, a 100% pure, organic and ethically sourced multipurpose oil for skin, hair and lips.  Each bottle of argan oil comes in an airless diffused dispenser for optimum application and evene has its own certificate of authenticity. This is amazingly moisturising, however the formula is way too heavy and greasy for my oily skin so I’ll probably use this very sparingly as a body oil instead.

Woohoo, we finally we have a body scrub that has nothing to do with coffee – I am so fed up of seeing these inside beauty boxes! Urban Veda was one of the first brands that I purchased when I stepped foot into the beauty subscription realm so it was lovely to see them on board this month even more so as I’ve not delved much into their body care range. Their award winning Soothing Body Scrub (Travel Size 50ml) gently exfoliates and buffs away dead skin cells with the power of naturally abrasive exfoliants of pumice stone and crushed walnut shell powder to reveal fresher-looking skin, supports healthy skin cell renewal and leaves sensitive skin de-stressed, balanced and calm. The calming sandalwood, anti-inflammatory rosemary and harmonising ylang ylang work in synergy to refresh and nourish the skin. Little-known box have also thrown in a sample of their Facial Oil which is a fairly new addition to their collection.

Another essential for me in the colder month’s is Lip Balm and this one by Kitenest (Full size RRP £3.00) has a unique Clove and Lime flavour that I absolutely love. It contains 100% natural ingredients such as nourishing Shea butter and coconut oil to moisturise dry and cracked lips back to health whilst the addition of beeswax creates a protective layer to lock in moisture. All KiteNest products are 100% natural, cruelty-free, individually crafted and handmade in Lincolnshire.

Moving onto make-up we have the PHB Ethical Beauty Lip Crayon in Pink (Full Size RRP £8.95 – shades may vary) which is a 100% pure, long lasting matte colour and can be used as an all over lip colour or as lip liner. Enriched with a gentle nourishing, this lip crayon applies effortlessly and smoothly and imparts such a pretty pop of colour. They currently only have three shade options on their website so I hope they bring out some more.

Lastly and another firm favourite from this month’s line-up is the Konjac Sponge Company Facial Sponge (RRP £8.99 –type may vary), a vegan and cruelty free sponge made from a natural mixture of Konjac vegetable fibre and spring water for a deep yet gentle exfoliation and cleanse. It is also an effective make up remover; just add water for water-based cosmetics or a drop of your favourite cleanser for regular makeup.

My Verdict

The October Little-known box not only was perfectly curated to equip us for the colder month’s but I love that they emphasised on ingredient conscience and environmentally-friendly British brands. Line-up wise, I don’t think there’s anything that I won’t be able to make use out of so for me personally this was a winning selection. Overall, there was a good mix on the beauty front in the form of both full sizes and samples but most of all I’m delighted to have stumbled across some new clean and green products!

In addition to the above you’ll also find exclusive discounts for each of the brands featured so if you happen to fall in love with something you’ll save a percentage off. If you want to be introduced to a number of beautiful and interesting products that are sourced from ethical brands then Little-Known Box is definitely a box you’ll want to get to know better!
