Hot baths, sipping on hot chocolate and early nights definitely sound a lot more appealing now than it did in summer and for November Glossybox have got a bit of a hygge ( a Danish and Norwegian word which can be described as a quality of cosiness and comfort that gives a feeling of contentment or well-being) thing going on which I love to practice myself this time of the year so with this in mind you can expect to see a very relaxed version mainly filled with pampering treats and a make-up addition to make it that little more balanced and out of the five products on board four are full sized so it’s another good value edit

If you’re new to Glossybox, it’s a monthly subscription box that comes packed with both deluxe-sized and full-size products and covers all areas of beauty from skin care, hair, nails, make-up and everything else in between from brands we all love and know as well as those hidden gems too! The box costs £13.25 per month and contains contents which always exceed the overall subscription price.

Without further ado here’s what I received inside my Glossybox:

Up first and my favourite product by far out of the box is the Green Frog Botanics Geranium and Peppermint Body Wash (Travel size 100ml RRP £3.95), a formula that’s suitable for all skin types with an infusion of  moisturising aloe vera, calming geranium and cooling peppering oil which acts as a deep conditioner for your skin, leaving it hydrated, nourished and full of antioxidants. In addition to being cruelty-free, this is also organic and vegan. Did I mention, not only does this smell so, so good but it also leaves your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated – it’s the perfect shower companion when you’ve had a long day at work! Although I’ve tried this previously via another box, I absolutely loved it and so pleased it’s made its way inside this month’s box.

Up next is the SportFX Moisturising Lip Balm (Full size RRP £4.99) in Candy Floss which not only smells good enough to eat but it’s been exclusively created for this month’s box. Described as an instant relief for dry lips, it’s enriched with natural oils, a vitamin complex, shea butter and also benefits from SPF15 makes for instant protection against harsh UV rays. If you read last month’s review you’ll know that I already received this – Glossybox had problems sourcing this for October so subscribers got something from Bang Beauty instead!

Moving onto make-up we have the Collection Cosmetics Brow Powder (Full size RRP £4.19), a loose powder formulation, containing fibre particles to add volume to the brows with a natural finish and comes with a fine-tipped sponge applicator for precision. If this was more of a darker shade, I would have probably liked it but unfortunately it’s too light for me – I don’t understand why beauty boxes do this to us as one shade does not suit all!

I know I keep saying a girl can never have enough make-up brushes but I’ve definitely noticed an influx of brushes lately inside beauty boxes – I guess another one won’t do any harm but I hope this is the last one I see for a while! The Beauty UK Cosmetics Contour Brush (RRP £6.99) feels so lovely to the touch and can be used from blush to bronze, contour to sculpt, define to highlight and precision to blend.  It’s also cruelty-free, vegan and made with the highest quality synthetic hair.

Lastly is the Boots Cleansing & Purifying Sheet Mask (x1 £2.50) which is specially formulated and enriched with Charcoal and Willow bark known to help cleanse and purify the skin. It promises to leave your skin feeling cleansed, purified and revitalised in just 15 minutes.

My Verdict

Unfortunately, this wasn’t one of my favourite offerings from Glossybox and here’s why. While the products make good companions for that pamper night in and fit in with the theme perfectly, I don’t think there was anything that really jumped out at me apart from the body wash and make-up brush. The addition of the Collection Cosmetics Brow Powder was definitely a let down and a risky choice due to the shade which is a shame but on the upside they have included four full sized products this month. I guess for personally this month’s box was kind of a win-lose situation, I loved the theme but wasn’t so in love with the contents so here’s to hoping their December edit makes up for the shortfall.
