So we’ve finally made it to December (woohoo!) and I for one really can’t wait for Christmas and having some down time from work but it’s also that time of year where beauty boxes usually go the extra mile and overall is such a fun time in terms of unboxings. With this in mind I’d say Glossybox have definitely ended the year on a high and it’s a huge improvement on last month’s edit which was a little hit and miss for me. This month’s Collectors ‘Mince Pies, Starry Skies’ edition has been designed by award-winning luxury Irish brand, Dusty Boy and not only looks the part but it’s filled with products to help us get party-ready in no time!

If you’re new to Glossybox, it’s a monthly subscription box that comes packed with both deluxe-sized and full-size products and covers all areas of beauty from skin care, hair, nails, make-up and everything else in between from brands we all love and know as well as those hidden gems too! The box costs £13.25 per month and contains contents which always exceed the overall subscription price.

Without further ado here’s what I received inside my Glossybox:

Up first we have the Naobay Equilibria Gel To Milk Cleanser (Full size RRP £15.99) and although I’ve got enough cleansers to last me a life time I have enjoyed the few bits I’ve tried from Naobay so I’m not too sad that this made the cut amongst the line-up! Promising to gently & effectively cleanse while caring for the skin, this organic and natural formula transforms into a cleansing milk consistency when in contact with water and contains softening organic almond oil, for an effective and deep cleansing effect.

I’ve been wanting to try something from Soaper Duper and I couldn’t be happier to start with their gorgeous Shea Butter Body Wash (Travel Size 100ml) which by the way smells so, so good! Infused with natural quillaja soap bark, coconut oil, soap bark, sweet almond oil and botanical surfactants, this 97% naturally-derived body wash has a heady scent from pressed vanilla pods with Monoi Oil, Shea Butter suds and protecting antioxidant Vitamin E.

Moving onto make-up and another favourite of mine out of the box is the Steve Laurent Eye Liner (Full size RRP £18.00). I’ve never heard of this brand before but I’m loving the packaging. On first impressions, this appears to be a nice felt tip liner but we’ll see how it holds up as they all work great for the first few uses but then half of them dry up after being opened for a few days – please don’t be one of those liners!

Sticking to eyes up next we have the Model Co 3D Lash Primer (Full size £7.00) which conditions, primes and enhances your lashes to help to create luscious eyelashes even before mascara. This ultra thickening formulation glides on to evenly coat and smooth the lashes ready for your favourite mascara.

Lip products are usually hit or miss when it comes to subscription boxes but this month, it was a total hit for me! The L.A.Q.A Cloud Lips (Full size £12.70) is exactly that with a formula that’s soft, pillowy (is that even a word?) and glides on smoothly without drying the lips all thanks to the help of silica and avocado oil. The formula provides near full coverage in 1-2 firm swipes. It also lasts impressively long and fades evenly and naturally.  The shade is beautiful and can imagine this looking great on all skin tones. It’s cruelty-free too.

My Verdict

In the spirit of the season, this month’s assortment of beauty from Glossybox was right on the mark in terms of what they picked out– it certainly ranks high in terms of my favourite editions from them this year. I really loved what I received this month and the selection definitely gives off those festive vibes with all the party-ready additions plus there was three make-up items this month which of course delighted me the most! Stand-outs for me so far from what I’ve tried (there were a lot!) include the L.A.Q.A Cloud Lips (I’m in love with the shade and the formula), the Steve Laurent Eyeliner and the Body Wash from Soaper Duper. Also I was kind of hoping that Glossybox would give us a little extra treat for the festive season and they certainly delivered on that front too with some chocolate! All in all, this month’s box really had it all from the pretty designed box from Dusty Boy right through to the carefully curated line-up and the overall value – what a fab box to end the year with, well done Glossybox. Did I mention there’s also a 20% off voucher that you can redeem off the Dusty Boy website – you may want to start with the desktop planner (pictured above) as it’s the perfect companion for a more organised 2018!
