I’m not really one to make resolutions (I’m useless at sticking to them!) but a new year definitely calls for new beauty products…cue the January Glossybox! This month, they’ve really got us covered and it’s the perfect all-rounder to kick start the year with especially for those who have had a hectic few weeks towards the run up to the new year and need a little pamper plus I just love that the majority of the brands featured are completely new on my radar so that’s exciting. Did I mention this month’s box is worth a whopping £90+ so if you like what you see then it’s one not to be missed!

If you’re new to Glossybox, it’s a monthly subscription box that comes packed with both deluxe-sized and full-size products and covers all areas of beauty from skin care, hair, nails, make-up and everything else in between from brands we all love and know as well as those hidden gems too! The box costs £13.25 per month and contains contents which always exceed the overall subscription price.

Without further ado here’s what I received inside my Glossybox:

Up first we have the Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Facial Oil (Travel Size 15ml) and it’s a very generous addition as the full size retails for £55.00! This Moroccan Rose infused Facial oil is packed full of minerals and vitamins, all working together to rejuvenate, renew and protect skin. Rich in antioxidants and moisturising properties to keep your skin protected and hydrated when it needs it most. Dr Botanicals are also Vegan certified and never test on animals.  I’m a huge fan of rose and facial oils so I’m really looking forward to trying this out.

To lock in that moisture and to create that all important make-up base is the Evelyn Iona Cosmetics Green Tea Primer (Full size 20ml RRP £22.00) which is described as a hydrating, antioxidant rich, skin friendly formula made with Organic Green Tea. It creates a smooth canvas for makeup application, reduces the look of lines and pores and helps your make-up last! I never skip primer so I really like finding formulas that benefit my skin while prepping it at the same time. The formula also contains natural and organic ingredients and is also cruelty-free & vegan.

Next out of the box and all the way from Paris is the Apicia Cream Blush (Full size RRP £22.00) and although I much prefer powder products it is another full size and comes in a universal shade which is actually quite nice once blended out and is rich in organic bee pollen to nourish the skin.

My hands have taken such a beating recently due to the cold weather so the Nail Medic Nail & Cuticle Energizer (Full Size RRP £5.99) is definitely something my nails will benefit from. Nail Medic is a three-phase anti-aging nail treatment system. The first phase cleanses the nails and cuticles, the second repairs and fortifies, while the third primes and protects and this product in particular is from their 2nd phase. Containing a “triple threat” of functional oils, extracts, and vitamins that work together to provide anti-aging properties while maintaining healthy nails and cuticles. Jojoba and black currant oils nourish and seal moisture into the nail, bamboo extract and Vitamin E hydrate and protect the nail from environmental stressors.

Lastly and my least favourite out of the box is the Boots Beauty Beneath Supplements (1 month supply RRP £39.99) – nothing wrong with them and I completely get why they got featured but I’m kind of wishing they featured something else instead! This nutrient-rich beauty supplement designed is to work beneath the surface and contain a complex blend of 19 nutrients for healthy, glowing skin. ***Please note the supplements are not vegetarian or pescetarians and are unsuitable if pregnant, suffer from thyroid or a smoker***

My Verdict

The January Glossybox is full of amazing goodies and it’s the perfect curation to kick start the year with. I also love the fact that they incorporated more vegan, cruelty-free, natural, and non-toxic options this month and with it being the start of a new year the line-up covered a good area of beauty, boasts incredible value with mainly full sizes and also showcased an array of new and exciting products to try and is just some of the reasons why this month’s box really shines. For me personally the only dud inside the box was the supplements and I would have preferred something else in it’s replacement but I completely get why these were featured. Overall, I really enjoyed this month’s unboxing and here’s to hoping we get to see some more edits just like this! The box alone is worth around £90+ so it’s definitely worth picking up if you like what you see!
