It’s a new year which means Look Incredible have another opportunity to wow us again with their curations and their January edition is no exception – I mean it’s not every day that you see the likes of Gucci and Tarte inside a beauty box! So this month’s curation definitely had be beaming from ear to ear as it’s the perfect pick me up for this time of the year and not only features all full sizes but the selection is pretty spot on too and also features a hair product which was a nice change as they usually focus more on make-up and the occasional skin care product.
If you’re new to Look Incredible they offer three types of beauty boxes which range from £25 – £65 and aim to deliver lust worthy beauty treats (mainly make-up) from brands we all love and know straight to your door and no spoilers are released so it’s a complete surprise when it arrives.
Here’s what I received inside the January Deluxe edition:
Up first and the obvious showstopper without a doubt is the Gucci Eye Impact Longwear Eye Pencil in the shade Cocoa (Full size RRP £22.00) which is described as an intense colored formula and promises to glide on smoothly and stays soft for 30 seconds for blending before it rapidly sets for a remarkable smudge-resistant finish. The formula is very pigmented (the intensity can be lessened with the smudged), is a dream to work with and also lives up to its longwear promise. I’m a little sad that the eyeliner didn’t come in black but nonetheless I really welcome the opportunity to test out the formula from a high end brand plus it comes with its very own branded sharpener – very luxe!
Sticking to eyes we have the Lorac Cosmetics Riesling Romance Eye Shadow Palette (Full size £35.00), a beautiful collection of shades perfect for creating everyday eye looks. This palette houses seven universal flattering, neutral matte and shimmer eye shadows. Inside there’s also a mirror but it’s a shame they didn’t include a brush but having said that I tend to use my own anyway! I’m looking forward to playing with this over the weekend.
Up next and another firm favourite inside this month’s edit is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Colour Splash Hydrating Lipstick in Set Sail (Full size RRP £20.00) and is definitely a shade I would have picked out myself! If you’re over the whole matte lip trend, you’ll probably love this as its super creamy and hydrating, yet packs a lot of pigment. It contains a Rainforest of the Sea complex that has algae and marine flower extracts to reduce the appearance of fine lines. And also contains shea butter and olive oil for providing moisture to the lips.
An area of beauty which isn’t represented much inside the deluxe boxes is hair care so it was really refreshing to see the Living Proof Style Lab Straight Styling Spray (RRP £18.00) even more so as this sounds like something my hair could certainly benefit from. This heat activated weightless spray can be used on damp or dry hair to create long-lasting, shiny, smooth, straight styles and is powered by Living Proof’s Healthy Hair Molecule (OFPMA). It’s also weightless, provides heat protection up to 450°F/230°C and blocks humidity. Silicone-free and formulated for colour and chemically treated hair.
My Verdict
Kicking off the new year in true Look Incredible style, I absolutely loved what they picked out for us this month and thankfully everything’s very usable and shade-wise very me apart from Gucci Eye Liner pencil however I’m very grateful this got featured as I’ve not tried much from Gucci’s make-up collection and formula-wise this was impressive. Although this month wasn’t mainly make-up orientated, I do love that they included a hair product to mix things up a little plus I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve tried so far from Living Proof so I’m looking forward to seeing if the humidity control can tame my problematic hair! Job well done Look Incredible, I can’t wait to see what you have in store for 2018 especially if this month is anything to go by!
