Okay…so Valentines Day isn’t for everyone and while I’m happily married I still remember those lonely nights hanging out with my subtitute boyfriends Ben & Jerry in front the TV plus there is so much more love to celebrate in life than just the romantic kind right…cue the February Glossybox! As with all their special editions, I had really high hopes this month as Glossybox usually go all out and I’m pleased to report their ‘Galentines Day’ edit definitely stuck to this tradition and is filled with products for that girly night out. I think they’ve also changed the information card this month as it now shows a selection of the products you may receive not just an overview of what’s inside your box – I’m sure I’m not the only one who was wondering where the other three products were!

If you’re new to Glossybox, it’s a monthly subscription box that comes packed with both deluxe-sized and full-size products and covers all areas of beauty from skin care, hair, nails, make-up and everything else in between from brands we all love and know as well as those hidden gems too! The box costs £13.25 per month and contains contents which always exceed the overall subscription price.

Without further ado here’s what I received inside my Glossybox:

Up first we have a VERY generous skin care treat from Skin Chemist and it’s their 24hr Aqua Cream (Full size 30ml RRP £64.00) which is something I’ve tried previously and loved so I’m really chuffed that I’ve got a full size version. The light formula does exactly what it intends to and injects a shot of moisture without adding additional oil to my already oily skin (this really reminds me of the Clinique Moisture Surge). Thanks to the rose water and aloe vera it also calms, heals and soothes. Did I mention this is such a good base for make-up!

Steve Laurent made his first ever debut inside the December Glossybox and I’m really excited that we’ve got another product to trial from his collection. The Nude Lip and Cheek Tint(Full size RRP £17.00) is housed in a rose gold pot and the formula is cruelty-free, hydrating and long lasting. It’s a lovely natural shade for everyday.

I’m all about multi-tasking beauty products and when they provide the benefit of keeping your make-up in tact as well as doubling up as a hydrating and pore reducing treatment, I’m sold! The Studio 10 Beauty Makeup Mist Glow-Plexion (Travel Size 15ml) is something all subscribers will receive and is described as a primer, hydrating mist and setting spray in one. With a super-fine  lightweight bit, it forms an undetectable veil over makeup for ultra long wear. It also smoothes and illuminates, instantly refreshes and brightens dull and lacklustre skin and reduces the appearances of pores.

Up next we have a mini Ciaté Gelology Nail Varnish (in various colours) which is a gel finish formula and promises to minimise chipping and provides up to 10 days of high gloss shine. I received the shade iced Frappe and I already own a full size thanks to last year’s Valentines Glossybox edit so I’m kind of wishing I got another shade instead!

Last out of box is the a full size Sleek i-Divine Palette in Storm (in various colours RRP £8.99) which consists of 12 shades of super-pigmented, longlasting, mineral based eyeshadow, designed to suit all and contains pearlescent shades, which contain mica particles that highlight and illuminate giving an overall radiant effect. This palette houses some really versatile shades and they can be used to create a very natural look for the day time as well as creating a smoky look for the evening. I was expecting these shadows to be on the chalky side but surprisingly they are not at all. The shimmery shades are my favourite though, they are so beautiful.

My Verdict

I couldn’t say that I really disliked a single thing this month which is quite novel as beauty subscriptions are a risky business sometimes so I’m really pleased that I’ll be able to get use out of the majority featured. With a fun designed box, excellent value and a line-up that mainly consisted of make-up, new discoveries and a long standing skin care favourite of mine, the February edition really had it all and a few of the products are already sitting pretty on my dressing table waiting for Monday’s work face! On the downside I was a little sad to see that the Studio 10 mist was only a 15ml sample as it’s the one item that I probably would have benefited from most this month. Nonetheless, I’m really impressed with the quality and value of this month’s Glossybox (really impressive for just £13.25) and I have to say I’m absolutely loving the direction they are going in as January’s curation was another winner for me.
