It’s always so nice to have something fun to open when I get home from a long and stressful workday and a delivery that I impatiently wait for each quarter is the Moi-Même Box. Centred around a tropical theme, they’ve spoiled us this summer with some amazing discoveries from brands created by girl bosses and once again it’s been executed to perfection however I’m still on the fence in terms of whether this edition tops the April one (I got so much use out of all the products and still am!).

If you’re new to Moi-Même Box then they are a quarterly subscription box that features an expertly styled assortment of fashion, beauty and lifestyle treats and also offer both full size and premium products. The boxes are also centred around a theme and really are a true treat.

Here’s a closer look at all the summery goodies that made the cut inside their July edition:

The first beauty treat out of the box is the Isla Apothecary Lemongrass & Rosemary Renew Foot Scrub (Full size 200g £21.00) which contains a refreshing blend of Lemongrass and Rosemary oils infused with essential fatty acid-rich oils combine to soften hardened skin and reinvigorate neglected feet. The analgesic property of Rosemary oil eases sore and tired feet, whilst the anti-fungal quality of Lemongrass protects and delicately deodorises.  The ground Pumice and Epsom salt provide effective exfoliation to help clear away dead skin, paving the way for these oils to feed parched skin, and initiate the rejuvenation of skin cells. The scrub pampers my feet very well and it thoroughly cleanses and exfoliates dead skin however to tackle the hard skin I did have to revert back to my foot file! It doesn’t show any miraculous results and although the effects are quite short lived if not used regularly, my feet did feel refreshed.

Sticking to beauty and a brand new launch from Evolve Organic Beauty is their Miracle Mask (Full size RRP £22.00), a delicious AHA fruit mask blended with 100% natural fruit acids including Glycolic Acid from Sugar Cane delivers instantly smoother plumper skin. Peruvian Maca, an ancient energy booster, helps to increase cellular renewal and skin radiance and reduces the appearance of ageing whilst Papaya acts as a natural exfoliator. I tend to stick to clay masks so I’m looking forward to trying something different.

Considering it’s travel season I think including the Elizabeth Scarlett Large Pouch (Full size RRP £20.00) was definitely a smart choice! From a host of beautiful designs, I received the Palmier Pouch in coral and as you can see it really rocks those summer vibes. The cotton pouch itself is really good quality and roomy to store anything from cosmetics, important travel documents – anything really!

Up next and another firm favourite of mine is the Tropical Leaf Necklace by A Weathered Penny (Available in gold or silver RRP £23.00) – isn’t it adorable! I can see myself wearing this with so many outfits. This does come with a short chain however if you listed your clothes size as a UK 18 or larger in your questionnaire when you first subscribed you will receive the long version instead – I just love how Moi-meme take things like this into account. If you’re not happy with the metal or chain length they’ve chosen for you they’ll exchange it.

If you’re into happiness and wellbeing planning then you’ll really appreciate the Nikki Strange A5 Wellness Planner (RRP £7.00). Personally I think it was a little too soon to feature this as we only received the Happiness Planner in January but I do love the print and the introduction of a company that I’ve never come across before.

Finally and as a finishing touch to their Tropical Box, Moi-Même have designed a pocket mirror with the help of Emerald Ivy Studios with your initial on it. I’m forever losing mine so this is most certainly a welcome addition.

My Verdict

This month’s tropical edition was indeed the perfect tribute to all things summer and I think they did a great job staying on theme and curating a collection for everyone to enjoy not forgetting all the new discoveries something you really appreciate when you review quite a few subscriptions! While the majority of the boxes I review on here are centred around beauty, Moi-Même definitely have a lot more variety to offer and unlike some subscriptions where products vary from person to person, everyone receives the same contents with just a few variations (colour or style of item). My favourites so far include the Elizabeth Scarlett pouch and the necklace. I’m also looking forward to trying out the foot scrub and the face mask – both of which smell so, so good!

Now, I can imagine that one of the big deterrents for people is the price. Each box is £49.95, which is no insignificant amount of money to shell out at once but this does break down to £16.65 a month. That being said, your  money is going towards luxury, full-sized products with a much higher value than you’d expect from a £10.00-£15.00 monthly subscription.
